I've been taking Symbicort for about a year. I started to get knee pain when I bent my knees. Then lower back pain with shoulder and neck pain. I stopped taking it and experienced withdrawal as shortness of breath. Could hardly walk. It's been a month and I'm starting to feel better. Proventil seem to be having a better effect now. Joint pain subsided. But I have a rash on my right calf for four months. What can I do for the rash to subside. Will it go away by itself? I'm taking epsom salts baths. I have been on symbicort for 3 years. I would like to get off it as my asthma is manageable...Are there any physical withdrawals to worry about? ## I also have questions on drug interaction with hydrocodone 5/500...If anyone would like to discuss this with me, please respond. ## Symbicort contains Budesonide and Formoterol. Anytime you have been on a medication for a prolonged period of time, your body will become dependent on it and you may experience some withdrawal symptoms. I too have been a long time user of Brondecon elixer for asthma. Because of the stupidity of a few who OD'd with the dosage the rest of us now have to suffer the loss of this extremely uselful medication. The theophylline tablets take more than 30 minutes to work whereas the elixer was very rapid. This is another expamle of something that was discontinued that defies logic. ## My daughter has had it since a very young girl and it is wonderful, now on steroids and that can only be taken for a short peroid of time, did't have to take steroids when on the brodecon for asthma now back to the same old sickness. I tested positive for benzo n I dont do any drugs at all I dont undrrdtand I have taken ibprophin n I was under allot of stress and was having trouble bastion so I took one pump of an asthma inhaler not thinking anything off it because again I don't do ANY type of drug were can I go to get a blood test to show what type of Benzo it the only thing I think it can be the asthma inhaler to top it all off I'm in court for custody n the judge hates me pls I need help I don't know about this stuff so I don't know what to do anybody pls r ## I will be taking a drug screening in 2 weeks. My son was on this hideous drug.. although he’s a breathing improved significantly the side effects have been dreadful. Including significant weight loss Blurred vision severe back pain sadness and depression. The latter being the catalyst for throwing this medication out. A week off he drug has seen a massive turn around in him. He is a 23 year old very fit and healthy young man and has never ever suffered with depression issues. It should be mandatory that these warnings are on the box and doctors should also be warning patients of these possible side effects. I only looked into the side effects after he said he lost 6kg.. not enough about sadness and depression is said about this drug ## I am very sorry about what your son has dealt with, I understand how upsetting that can be....

I am taking Monticope and want to know if it will help me? I have taken only one tablet so far. ## Monticope contains Montelukast and Levocetirizine, it is used to allergies. I had heart failure in July, am 73 years old and had porfiria & asthma for which my Dr prescribed Losaar plus (50/12.5), Carloc and Purgoxin. I'm now experiencing permanent nausea and dizziness. i use monticope when the cold came regularly .is ther any problem for using this tablet as regular ## Monticope contains Montelukast and Levocetirizine. These are both used to treat the symptoms of colds and allergies. I would suggest only using it when needed, rather than making it a regular daily regime, if thats what you mean? Side effects of Montelukast include gastrointestinal disturbances, hypersensitivity reactions, sleep disorders and increased bleeding tendency, aside from many other generic adverse reactions. Levocetirizine is called a non-sedating antihistamine as it does not enter the brain in significant amounts, and is therefore unlikely to cause drowsiness. I am taking montelukast zykast 10mg/5mg tablet every night as prescribed by my doctor to treat my asthma. Now, is it ok if I will let my 7 year old daughter take it because I forgot to buy her chewable tablet lately when I went to the market and it's too late for me to find out that she already consumed her chewy tabs which I bought last week and i'm worried because she's been coughing now. Is there any side effects of taking these tablets regularly? ## Okay, allergies would not cause a cold, they are completely different things, since a cold is caused by a type of virus and has nothing to do with allergies, though they may cause some similar symptoms, such as runny nose and nasal congestion. I've lost my voice from using Symbacort for one month. How long will it take to get my voice back after discontinuing the Symbacort? ## Hello, Kathy! How are you doing? Started using symicort about 3 weeks ago for possibly asthma or bronchitis...havent really gotten a definite diagnosis yet...but my question is I all of a sudden feel very lethargic and weak...kinda like the feeling when I'm getting sick with fever but do not have fever...is this a side effect of symicort and should I be concerned...i go to my pulmonologist in 3 days but I just feel like complete mush...also have a headache. ## How are you doing, now, Deborah? I have been told that theophylline er is being discontinued. Is this true? I have taken it for years for asthma. ## Hello, Terri! How are you? I've not found anything about it being discontinued. Where you told that by a pharmacist or did it come from some other source? There were a couple that were discontinued back in 2003, due to the fact that it's rarely prescribed, anymore. But I've not read anything in my various resources that the current one available is being discontinued. Though, a doctor or pharmacist may, admittedly, have more updated information than I do. as a child I had Asthma and took Tedral all through the 60s now at 68 Asthma returned about 10 yrs ago after 40 years of no asthma.
