There is syrup form made for children. Since this isn't used in the U.S., i really don't have much other information on it. Why was it given to your child?
Where can I purchase Azmacort? I live midtown Manhattan and having difficulty finding this drug. I understand the manufacturer has discontinued it but I also understand it is still available (somewhere) thru to the end of 2010. But where??? ## It really isn't that it's available through the end of the year, it's that it would be available until current supplies run out. Thus, I have to conclude that most pharmacies in your area have exhausted their stock. Have you tried speaking to your doctor about an alternative?

Does this tablet contain steroids? Also, what are the side effects of this tablet prescribed for bronchitis/asthma? ## Doxofylline is not an steroid. This tablet contains a bronchodilator which belongs to the class of xanthine derivatives. Doxofylline is an effective medication for the treatment of bronchitis induced asthma as an add on therapy (along with inhalers or other prescribed medicine). But it is also effective as sole therapy for the management of asthma. To my knowledge, it has no serious side effects. However, Doxofylline must not be taken with any other xanthine derivative, and coffee must be avoided when taking Doxofylline because this may increase the risk of side effects like increased heart rate and palpitation.
