UpdatedMy blood pressure is 190/100 and I forgot to take my metoprolol this morning. I took it after checking my blood pressure along with my baby aspirin. I have pain meds (hydrocodone 5/325) - Is it safe to take the pain meds? It's been about 30/45 minutes since I took blood pressure meds. ## In general, it should be, unless your doctor or pharmacist has told you not to do so. Overall, however, being in pain can cause further elevations of your blood pressure, so they usually want you to take your pain med. But your doctor is the authority on that. The FDA warns that Hydrocodone carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. As to the Metoprolol... Do you have a smartphone? If so, there are many free a...

I am suffering high blood pressure 150/84 and cholesterol. Can I take Ecosprin and Tazloc 40 together? Are there any side effects? ## According to the University of Maryland Medical Center (umm.edu / drug interaction tool), there are no interactions listed between Ecosprin (Aspirin) and Tazloc (Telmisartan). This does not necessarily mean no interactions exist, so I still think it's imperative that you discuss this with your doctor first. However, I do tend to trust the research stemming from universities of this caliber. Also, if you are taking both meds together it would be particularly difficult to distinguish the origin of side effects that do occur as being attributed to either medication in and of itself vs a reaction that was caused by the two of them together. This is a larg...

The FDA classifies it as a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory that's used to treat pain, fever and swelling. Have been taking 2 generic Ibuprofen 200 mg each (400 total) since Tuesday around 4pm for right side back pain from a fall on Saturday night - Aspirin before that. Not working. Tried Lidocaine patches 5% - Wednesday; no relief; took Naproxen 220mg - 2 of them; still no relief; can I take Hydrocondone Acetaminophen 7.25/325 now Friday AM? And if so, how far apart from the ibuprofen which I just took again? ## Have you had this checked out? If the pain is so severe that nothing you've listed has helped, then it might be time to have some consults to find out if the fall might really have done some damage. According to NIH reports it could be due to anything from a kidney stone to a broken rib, or fractured disk. How are you doing, now? Has there been any change?

UpdatedI am 60 years old and manage my diabetes with insulin. For the past two years, I've been taking "Aspirin Protect" 100, a product made by Bayer in Germany. Currently, I am in India and am contemplating whether or not I can switch to Ecosprin AV 75 or any other version of Ecosprin. The blend of ingredients in Aspirin Protect includes Acetylsalicylic acid and a Thrombocyte aggregation inhibitor; this information is conveniently printed on the packaging. Despite my search, I am yet to find such details on the strips of Ecosprin. Consequently, I would appreciate your advice. Alongside Aspirin, I've also been consuming Plavix for the last two years. Can anyone recommend a viable substitute for Aspirin Protect 100?

As defined by the FDA, regular release tablets take about 15 to 20 minutes to start working, after you take them. Hi. I was taking aspirin delayed release 75mg. For last 3-4 years. As the tablet got over I requested one of my friend to bring the ecosprin tablet but he brought aspirin gastro resistance 75mg ..is it both are same. There is no problem of taking this medicine. ## Please what is the difference between aspirin dispersible 75mg and gastro-resistance asprin 75mg? ## @Post #1, I don't know if there's any inherent difference between the two, as from what I could gather, the dispersible tablets are said to be soluble and the gastro-resistant tablets are said to have an enteric-coating that is supposed to delay release and be easier on the stomach (providing longer lasting effects). Technically, both tablets are soluble - but the gastro-resistant tablets explicitly state that they last...
