Aspirin, Metoprolol And Hydrocodone 5/325

My blood pressure is 190/100 and I forgot to take my metoprolol this morning. I took it after checking my blood pressure along with my baby aspirin. I have pain meds (hydrocodone 5/325) - Is it safe to take the pain meds? It's been about 30/45 minutes since I took blood pressure meds.

In general, it should be, unless your doctor or pharmacist has told you not to do so. Overall, however, being in pain can cause further elevations of your blood pressure, so they usually want you to take your pain med. But your doctor is the authority on that.

The FDA warns that Hydrocodone carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth.

As to the Metoprolol... Do you have a smartphone? If so, there are many free applications you can download that will remind you to take your medications. My husband and I both use one every day, he uses an Android, and I have an iPhone, but given that he has epilepsy, and I have high blood pressure and congestive heart failure, neither one of us wants to risk missing a dose of essential medications.
