Aspirin is termed as the wonder drug in the medical field due to its widespread use in number of diseases. It is also prescribed by the doctors for heart diseases. Aspirin is termed as an effective weapon against heart disease due to its ability to prevent blood clotting. Heart attack occurs when a clot blocks a blood vessel. Blood clotting takes place when the platelets group together. But when Aspirin is consumed, it interferes with this process and prevents the platelets from grouping together by making them less sticky.

However, as with any medication, there are possible risks associated with the use of Aspirin.

It can cause side effects, such as: nausea, drowsiness, headache and stomach irritation.

For people that already have stomach problems, it is not always possible to use it.

It also should be noted that for the effects you are speaking of, only a low-dosage should be used, once daily, generally it is 75 or 81mgs.

It also shouldn't be used in children under 12, that show symptoms of a cold or flu, due to the risk of Reye's Syndrome.
