I'm looking for the old formulation of Actifed. Are there any countries that still sell it? I know you can use it to make drugs, but it's the only thing that works for me (and it helps me sleep too). I would not have ANY problem having the FBI at my house if I could get some. They'd be sitting on my shelf just exactly like my 16 bottles of shampoo, 42 bars of soap and 18 boxes of bandaids (I'm not a hoarder, I just hate running out of stuff...and stupidly, before that stuff went away, I didn't buy a ton of it). The stuff they sell behind the counter is a reformulation....it's different. ## Actually, Janet, those are the ingredients in the new formulation. The original Actifed contained Pseudoephedrine and Tripolodine. Ref: The new formulation [NDC 27854-119] con...

I FEEL SO HORRIBLE MY HEAD IS SO SFUFF UP YTHAT 1 CANT BREATHE AND I CANNOT SLEEP HELP ## The Tripolodine in the Aprodine and the Tramadol can both cause depression of the central nervous system, which may cause shallower breathing, lowered heart rate and lower blood pressure. This doesn't mean that they can't be taken together, but that you have to be careful doing so and keep any eye out for any dangerous symptoms, such as severe sedation, trouble breathing and dizziness. Learn more Tramadol details here. Learn more Tripolodine details here. Learn more Pseudoephedrine details here. But I would recommend double checking this information with your doctor, or pharmacist, before taking it. Are there any other questions or comments? ## One every four hours is recommended. I persona...

Background: Been taking 1 Actifed/Aprodine a day for at least 30 years. Started taking it for allergies and discovered as I got older and had trouble sleeping that it helped greatly with that. (Some folks have the opposite side effect and it makes them hyperactive.) Like most of those posting here it is getting harder and harder to get even though I have a prescription from my physician to purchase it in bottles of 100. No dice. Aprodine seems to have phased it out in 100s likely because it's much cheaper than the blister packs. Question: My allergist tells me Actifed is one of the "older" antihistamines and that it has the ability to penetrate the blood/brain barrier and that this quality may have negative implications for long term usage. And that is all I can find out, bu...

Is aprodine still being made or is it going to be phased out? I am having increasingly more difficulty finding it. I use it to control my allergies. Nothing else seems to work as effectively. ## Aprodine contains the active ingredients Pseudoephedrine and Tripolodine. I am not sure if this specific one is still being made, but it is available in other products, such as Actifed Cold&Allergy and Triafed. However, due to the fact that they contain Pseudoephedrine, they are kept behind the counter in the pharmacy, so you have to ask for them, then present identification and sign for the purchase. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thank you very much for the information. You answered my question, and I appreciate it very much! Happy New Year to you!
