Apo-meloxicam Efficacy

I have been taking Apo-meloxicam since Tuesday. I have taken 4 pills for inflammation in my lower back and right leg. Am a little concerned as to why the pain is not going away? How long before the pill starts to work?

Meloxicam is just a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, so while it can help with some minor pain, fever, and swelling, it will not alleviate pain as well as an opiate would.

The U.S. FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding, and stomach irritation.

You may need a stronger pain reliever.
