Hello, Trixie! How are you?
If you require pain medications on a long-term ongoing basis, you'll need to see a specialist, now. A general practice physician won't be able to prescribe them for you.
And none are going to be able to be really generous, there are limits on how much they can prescribe, except in the case of someone that has intractable pain due to a possibly terminal illness, such as stage 4 cancer.
Do you currently have a PCP that might be able to refer you to someone? If so, that might be the quickest and easiest way to find the help you need.
Can anyone recommend a good doctor in that area?
