Anybody Used Cytisine (Page 2) (Top voted first)

Updated

Has anybody used Cytisine to give up smoking, is it an anti depressent, doesn't sound as 'natural' as it was made out to be. Side effects?

These pills are fantastic! I became really aggressive/bad mooded/nervous in previous attempts to quit. I 'forgot' to smoke after 3 days tabex! And didn't feel like it physically. Next to that these pills really seem to work like a giant mood booster for me. I find myself singing/happy/in a very good mood! If possible I would take them forever ;-). But hey, that would be a new addiction and SO happy I got rid of the smoking! I think they are really not marketed worldwide because of the tobacco industry or politics interfering (making money and saving money, what would they do if people don't die anymore due to smoking, too many healthy older people).

You ask about quitting cold turkey. I quit cold turkey after a forty year smoking habit. Everyone who knew me wanted to know how I quit -many were shocked that someone like me at two packs per day could quit and quit cold turkey. CT quitting is more of a process than an event. Once you know how to quit CT anyone can quit and never smoke again. By the way and just to be clear nicotine addiction is not only a physical addiction to nicotine. There is an additional addiction, the psychological addiction to the habit. Cytosine and Nicotine replacement products only deal with the psychical addiction by suppressing the effects caused by nicotine when the goal should be to end both addictions. I hope someone who may have given up trying can find a new hope and motivation to give CT quitting a chance.

Bought it and used 4 strips the first week. Reduce my smoking from over a pack a day to 3 a day. Had a bout with bronchitis so I had to stop the strips. I went up to 6-10 cigarettes by the next week. Back on them and it is working like a charm. I am a 35 year smoker and I never thought I would find anything that would take the edge off. P.S. Lost 10 lbs! This is a Godsend. Please try it! Worth every freaking penny!!

Yes, I used cytisine three months ago. Very happy with my success and that I have been able to say I'm no longer a smoker.
The only side effect was that I stopped smoking...quit 4 good.

Cytisine is a nicotine receptor antagonist, which is really why it is a success...the only side effect you will have is that you will stop smoking...the program gives you a head start on eliminating nicotine from your system which is a serious drug...it will take 90 days to break your habit and re-train your thoughts...just remember...you cant think your way into good actions, it only with good actions that we produce positive thinking and results.

I have just finished taking a course of tabex which was wonderful. I didn't have any cravings and didn't feel depressed (like I have when trying to quit before). I had a few nights of bad dreams....but stupidly I smoked again after 7 weeks of quitting.... I had 5 cigs in a period of 4 days....so I've started with one tabex a day again....not sure if this is safe?

I have tried Chantix, nicotine patches, Cold Turkey, etc... I went from twenty four cigarettes to five a day within a couple of days. This works for me... Amazing! But I try to walk a lot and take vitamins. No side effects other than not needing to smoke. Try it...I will know how it goes in a few more weeks. I truly thought that I would not be able to stop a forty year habit.

Update: now I cannot even smoke the whole five cigarettes that I light up. I stop after a few puffs. Please give this a try. It might work...for you. Still trying to walk, drink lots of water. And I pretty much stopped drinking diet coke. From a five glass drinking habit to maybe one...Very strange... I wonder what diet coke has to do with cigarettes?

I have experienced almost no side effects. One day I had a very mild headache but that was it. No nausea or perceptual troubles. I did notice a dry mouth, minor clumsiness and some incoordination. I've taken it within 2 hours of bedtime and had no trouble sleeping.

I am on it now. Started on June 21st, 2017. It has only been 5 days but I am really impressed with it so far. No ill effects so far and really the cravings to smoke again are not that bad. It costs less than $15 for the one month (25 day) program. I did use Chantix a few years ago and did quit for 1 1/2 years afterwards but the Chantix was very expensive and I had some side effects that I DO NOT want to have ever have again. This medicine is called Tabex or Desmonax in Poland and it is made by Sopharma. Of course it is helping for sure that I really felt that it was time to quit smoking and with the success that my friends had with no ill effects I knew it was worth a try and it has been worth it even after these 5 days.

Hello, and yes I have had a very positive experience with Cytisine. It gave me the edge and control to stop smoking 10mnths ago, something I was very concerned about as I had made many unsuccessful attempts in the past. It came recommended to me and I can only praise the completely natural Cytisine smoking cessation process and recommend it to others. Cheers.

Re: gemmy (# 70) Expand Referenced Message

$300 sounds outrageous for a course of cytisine. I paid around $40US for a box of Tabex. It sounds like cytisine may not be a good drug choice for you. Headaches and nausea are fairly common reported side effects (trivial in my case) but if it does not suppress cravings or withdrawal symptoms for you there is no point in taking it. An underappreciated but possibly illuminating concept termed "biochemical individuality" was described by Roger Williams some years ago in a book with that title. Different people can have quite different responses to the same drugs and it is a good idea to avoid ingesting any drug with side effects that a person finds troublesome -- especially if the drug is not working for its intended purpose.

Hi, i've quit for 2 weeks now. Side effects i have are very little, dry mouth and that's about it.
In europe its very cheap, 22€ for the whole cure. 1,5mg per tablet. They recommend to take 2packages and take your time. Also, take one every 2 hours for about max 10 days (for those who take longer tan 5 days).
It works like a charm. Even if you are not strong willed.
Also, now new studies are being done, with people taking 3mg at a time.
I consider the product safe if you don t use other neural medication.
If you do, consult your doctor first, its almost the same as chantix, so if he says you can use that, just use tabex or desmoxan, a lot cheaper and way less side effects than chantix.
