Anxiety During Dental Work
UpdatedI suffer from severe anxiety when having dental procedures or extractions. Other than the anesthetic the dentist gives, what can I ask my regular doc or psychiatrist just for each dental visit?

To avoid being viewed as a drug seeker, it is usually best to avoid asking for any specific medication. The best thing to do would be to speak to your dentist, and doctor about the problem, and let them make a recommendation on what might help.
Some people do well with a benzodiazepine like Xanax, or Ativan, but others need different medications. The FDA does warn that benzodiazepines carry the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, headache, irritability, and headache.
What other medications are you taking?
Re: Verwon (# 1)
At one time and still to this day it is not uncommon to be sedated with Nitrous Oxide (laughing gas)
