I was prescribed nystatin vaginal tablets for a resistant vaginal yeast infection but the pharmacy said it is discontinued. I was given oral tablets instead, will these be effective for vaginal yeast treatment? ## Hi, Mary! How are you? Yes, they should work, but it may take a little bit longer than the vaginal tablets would, since it does have to be processed through your body to do its work, rather than be directly absorbed into the vaginal mucosa. Learn more Nystatin details here. The side effects may also be different, because the oral ones may cause some nausea and dizziness. Is there anything else I can help with?

Finishing up on taking nitrofurantoin. How soon can I start taking monistat 7. Now I have a yeast infection. Actually had during the time I am on nitrofurantoin. ## Hi, Lady Lex! Sorry about the yeast infection, they are very annoying! And you could have started using the Monistat, while still on the antibiotic from what I can find. You should always check such information with your doctor or pharmacist to be certain, but I didn't find any interactions or problems listed between the two. Learn more Miconazole details here. Many times, when women are prone to getting yeast infections from antibiotics, doctors will prescribe Diflucan (Fluconazole) as a preventative, so they don't have to deal with two different kinds of infections, at the same time. Is it harmful to use expired clotrimazole cream for Serious Red Rash in Vagina with expiration date: November 2009 ? I would believe it is but my friend says NO....... ## Yes, you are correct and it shouldn't be used. Creams tend to degrade fairly fast and usually contain oils that can go rancid with time. Thus, trying to use one that's this old to treat a vaginal issue could just end up making the situation worse. It is best to use a new cream that is still fully potent and within its expiration date. Can nitrofur macr 100 mg be used to treat yeast infections? ## No, an antibiotic will not cure a yeast infection. Antibiotics can actually cause them, or worsen an existing one. Yeast is actually a fungal infection, so it requires an antifungal medication to be eradicated. There are some that are available over the counter, such as Monistat. Learn more Monistat details here. However, if this is your first yeast infection, then you need to see your doctor to confirm that it's a yeast infection and discover the proper, safe remedy for you. Is there anything else I can help with?

Have been cajoled into trying ergo7. Stopped taking it. Makes me feel like my brain is in an infested swamp toxic. Very suspicious of this company. Unfortunately been duped before with Bacterol probiotic etc Supposed to clean out your colon etc. obviously didn't, went back to my usual probiotic. I'm surprised that dr Earl Mindell has backed these products --- with amazing claims (who actually does the research?). Do not get taken in by Swiss Labs, they come out with something new so often -- that they must be either super advanced of everyone else or frauds, Let me just say none of the products has helped me after taking Ergo7 for 2 weeks And thinking I may be having cleansing reactions- continued to feel worse than 'drunk' like an evil fungus attacking the brain. I used Canex V during my fertile period for thrush infection due to antibiotics. Is it possible to still be able to get pregnant while you are using it. ## From what I could gather, Canex V contains the active ingredient Clotrimazole, which is an anti-fungal medication. So yes, it is normally used to treat things such as yeast/thrush infections. Regarding it's use during pregnancy, Clotrimazole topical has been assigned to pregnancy category B by the FDA. In which case animals who were given high doses intravaginally have not revealed evidence of teratogenicity. However, high "oral" doses resulted in embryotoxicity and maternal toxicity.
