The Zoloft has been good for my depression, but my libido is pretty much non-existent. Do I need to wean completely off the Zoloft before I start the Brintellix? I'm getting mixed messages about this. Anyone have personal experience in taking both while weaning from Zoloft? ## Hello, Dar! How are you? Yes, one should be stopped, before starting the other, unless your doctor has instructed you to do otherwise. Brintellix is a little different than Zoloft, the FDA classifies it as an atypical antidepressant, it's a serotonin modulator and stimulator. Typical side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, constipation, dry mouth and unusual dreams. You should also be made aware that it can cause problems ...
I have a small round pill with no other markings but A - 102 on one side only. What is this pill and what is it used for? ## Hi Tom, You didn't mention what color your pill was, but a small round white pill with A 102 on one side and blank on the other, is reportedly identified as Bupropion ER (300mg); an antidepressant medication. For verification, the manufacturer is listed as Par Pharmaceuticals and the pill itself carries a National Drug Code of 10370-102. You can also click on the NDC link to view an image of the pill. I hope this helps!
My health insurance recently changed my Effexor ER to Tier 3--making it more than 2 times the monthly cost. Has anyone changed to the generic venlafaxine that is not extended release successfully? I prefer to not use non-US pharmacies. I can not find venlafaxine extended release as a generic option in the US--only the regular. Thanks for your help! ## RE: Differences in generic manufactures of Venlafaxine - Would one manufacturer's brand differ from another manufacturer's? The pharmacy said it's all the same. They say the availability of the product is why they switch.
Hi, I'm new to this forum. I am desperate for support and hoping I can get some advice from people who may have had a similar experience. I feel like I'm drowning- like the life has been sucked out of me. I've felt depressed ever since I was 12 years old. I wasn't suicidal, but I felt a general lack of motivation for life. I couldn't find happiness in anything, and just getting out of bed was a struggle most days. At age 21 I decided to do something about it and got a script for the generic version of Wellbutrin XL (300mg) for roughly 2 years. In the beginning it was a miracle drug- I was able to get out of bed in the morning, I was super motivated, lost some weight, and felt like a normal human being- until at some point it stopped working, so I tapered off and even...
I've been taking Brintellix (10 mg) for 18 days now. I was taking Effexor and then the generic version Venlafaxine since 2008 and was interested in a new medication. I thought that the Venlafaxine made me gain weight, not sure. So, since taking this Brintellix, I've been VERY groggy, and sleepy. Been having a hard time getting out of bed in the morning, and sleep later than usual. Hard to have energy to do things throughout the day. Does this go away with time? Overall, the medication works fine, however this sleepiness is too much. ## Hello, Sheva! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. The excessive drowsiness may be due to stopping the other, coupled with side effects from starting the Brintellix. As listed by the FDA, other possible side effects...
Has anyone taken Trileptal (for anger) and Paxil (for anxiety) together? Did it help? My son has taken Trileptal which has helped the anger but the anxiety is no better. ## They can be taken together, if his doctor approves and is monitoring him regularly, but the FDA does warn that it may intensify some of the side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, headache, mood changes, and weight changes. Is he on any other medications? What conditions has he been diagnosed with?
round, white tablet, with plvia and 434 marked on them, backside has a line through the middle ## This tablet is manufactured by Teva Pharmaceuticals and they list it as containing 100mgs of Trazodone, which is used to treat depression, and insomnia. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, mood changes, and weight changes. Is there anything else I can help with?
What is it like? Is it like Xanax? I was prescribed it and I want to know more about it. ## @Milk, The pill you're describing marked 'Mylan 4250', is a 50mg Doxepin hydrcohloride tablet made by Mylan Pharmaceuticals. Doxepin differs from Xanax in that it is a tricyclic antidepressant, whilist Xanax is a benzodiazepine class drug. Even though both have similar applications for anxiety and depression... They both function differently from a pharmacological perspective. According to MedlinePlus.gov, Alprazolam (Xanax) works by decreasing abnormal excitement in the brain. Doxepin on the other hand reportedly works by increasing the amounts of certain natural substances in the brain that are needed for mental balance. Some people with certain chemical imbalances may respond bette...
have been on pristiq for just over 1 month and have had my menstrual period for over 14 days, now. Dr. doesn't think it's related. strange coincidental hormone imbalance? ## It has been known to cause an irregular menstrual cycle, as a side effect, according to FDA reports. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, and headache. It should regulate itself, after a few months, once your body gets used to the medication, but if it doesn't, you should inform your doctor, as it might not be the right medication for you. Is there anything else I can help with?
I take 10 mgs of lexapro and was wondering if 5mgs of flexeril would interact? I weigh about 140 lbs and am 5'8. I do not take anything else. My mom gave me a flexeril to help with some muscle spasms in my back but I don't want to take it if it interacts. ## No, these medications should not be taken together, as it increases the risk of your developing Serotonin Syndrome, which has the potential to be fatal. Thus, if your doctor hasn't prescribed them both for you, it could be very dangerous for you to take them, according to FDA reports. It would be best to consult your physician to see what you can safely take. Is there anything else I can help with?
Does anyone have personal experience with this sleeping tablet? If so, how well did it work for you? ## Hi. I'm a 32 year old guy. Now a days I have been going thru a tough situation. You can say I'm in a state of depression, because of which i can't sleep properly. In the morning my eyes are swell and I'm having severe headaches. I've been thinking of taking Alprex for quite some time. Can anyone suggest how I can use it, how much mg I should take, and if there are any side effects? ## My daughter is 2 years old and I've been taking Alprex. 5mg for the past 2 months. I am breastfeeding my daughter as well. Is that harmful to my daughter? I am suffering from depression and frustration.
I failed my pain meds drug test for PCP/ angeldust. Could my meds I am on have done this cause I have never touched pcp.? I am currently on celexa lamictal adderall ability xanex hydrocodone tramadol ## Celexa causes false positives for pcp happened to me in rehab. Most doc should know this! ## False positive for hydromorphone when dr. listed morphine instead of my prescribed ms contin er 30mgs 2x a day{for 8 yrs.) and loratab 7.5 as needed. Loratab was compliant and morphine non complant ms contin er wasn't listed anywhere. Could this be why hydromorphone showed up and no morphine showed up at all? I was cut from all pain meds told me I was a criminal for selling my morphine to buy a stronger drug. It has been about 30days now they said I fired them and cut my psyc. meds. I had to ...
Need deep sleep! How much of this stuff would I need to take to knock me out for the count and make me oblivious to anything, without it having too negative effect on me. Want to sleep like I've never slept before, without no interruptions. Need deep sleep! I have been given amitriptyline. How much of this stuff would I need to take to knock me out for the count and make me oblivious to anything, without it having too negative effect on me. Want to sleep like I've never slept before, without no interruptions. I want it to really knock me out. Thanks. ## Wow! Sounds to me like you're really tired! I have taken both of these meds, and neither one has made me even the least bit sleepy. Tramadol has a very specific max of dosage, so I highly suggest you don't overtake any it...
I've been on 100 mg of tramadol 2x per day for a little over 1 month this time. I'm having s horrible time detoxing c/t although I've tried many times. After 2 times with refills my gp refuses another script. My neurologist recently prescribed Amitriptyline 50 mg per night for sleep and pain. My question is can the amitriptyline help with horrible day 2 withdrawal I'm experiencing? I never want to see tramadol again b/c of the sickening control I gave it over my life. Told husband at least my head and neck pain let me feel normal instead of some side show. If anyone has experience bei.g on amitriptyline while detcing from tramadol will you please help? Thanks to all!! ## Hi Ashley, I have heard of Amitriptyline helping those who are going through withdrawal by helping th...
I took Cymbalta for about 10 years, and it seemed to help with a lot of my depression symptoms. I had to increase the dose over time, and maxed out at 120mg. But the last year or two I was taking it, it just didn't seem to do much anymore, and my depression had gotten worse as well. Has anybody been in the same boat? If so, would love to know if you've found something else that works well for you. ## It is normal for a medication to stop working as well for you, over time. Your body basically builds up a tolerance to them, which results in your needing a higher dosage, or medication change, according to FDA warnings. Have you consulted your doctor? Are you on any other medications? ## Do not quit this drug suddenly. You must taper off or you will have some had withdrawals
Will effexor xr 150 mg show on a drug screening? ## In theory it shouldn't, because it contains the active ingredient Venlafaxine, which is an SNRI antidepressant and is not something that is tested for on a drug screen. However, on some of the cheaper, less precise tests, it has been known to cause a false positive for PCP. Are there any other questions? ## can effexor give me a false positive for pcp,i failed a drug test at work for pcp only drug i have ever taken is effexor for the past 5yrs. ## Can venlafaxine er 3.7.5 mg medication give me a hot u.a ## Just had a drug test my dr gave me and I do not do drugs. I only take what he gives me (Effexor). It's hard to believe that I've been seeing him for almost 20 years and he treats me like I am a druggie. Does he not know w...
Hi. I'm female 27 years and used lexamil for 3 years since my second baby due to severe depression. I gained 10kg's in the first 3 months and it made me feel better. I could at least work and function a bit better. It only started getting better now. I have today decided not to take it any more. It's just too expensive and makes me gain weight and I feel so sleepy all the time since I have been taking it. I sometimes feel off balance. If I stop taking it I start to stare into space lol. But I am going to try it once again, with people monitoring my behaviour if they see I need to take it again. I want to take control of my life again. Lose the weight and cope on my own. I feel terrible today, I feel nauseous! But guess what....my emotions are fine! I noticed after leaving it...

For anyone with an emergency, please contact your local poison control or take the person to the nearest emergency services medical department. While there are always those of us online that would love to help, if we can, there is nothing we can do if someone's life is in danger.
