What is the safest and quickest method to stop taking Trazodone? ## My daughter has been taking trazodone for 2.5 years at 150 mg. Can you just stop taking it or do you have to be weaned off? If you just stop will there be risks? ## Trazodone is an SARI antidepressant, so it works on brain chemicals, which means an abrupt cessation of it could result in some withdrawal symptoms and a rebound effect. I'm getting concerned about my husband. He has been put on Effexor XR 75 mg, together with Prazosin, and Clonazepam 1 mg, for depression and anxiet and PTSD. When he feels more anxious he will take another Clonazepam, or a half mg of it. I realize his dosages aren't high on these medications but he is also extremely sensitive to meds, so for him this may well be a lot. Lately he has been drinking, after being completely off the alcohol for quite a few years. He will start drinking wine after work, and will drink 3 or more 16 oz glasses. Then he will take another 1.5 of clonazepam some nights, or else 2 Tylenol PM's and go to sleep. I've been taking Citalopram for a week now, so far so good except for feeling a little tired but hoping it will go away. I want to continue with my weight loss program taking a half of 37ml of phentermine so I can get the energy I need in the morning at the gym, don't want to feel too anxious. I have been suffering from Clinical Deep Depression for 19 1/2 years now. I was on Cipralex for at least 15 years (I am extremely sensitive to antidepressants) - Cipralex stopped working and I have been put on Brintellix/vortioxetine - first week - had to cut Cipralex down to 10mgs for 5 days, then start Brintellix/vortioxetine 5mg and 5mg Cipralex for a further 5 days, then 10 mg Brintellix/vortioxetine for almost 2 weeks, started 15mg of Brintellix/vortioxetine yesterday - have been feeling extremely terrible in myself, thoughts of suicide and self harming have been rearing their ugly heads in my mind, can't stop crying and if not crying am biting at the ones I love. I gained 68 lbs while on Abilify. Now four years later my weight is still 30 lbs over my normal. I still have some depression and very severe anxiety so my doc wants me to try cymbalta 20mg once a day. I would rather be depressed than severely overweight. i have depression and anxiety, been using xanor sr 0.5mg for 1 1/2 years, twice a day, 0.5mgx2, one in the morning and one in the evening. i dont want to use it anymore and started taking one a day. i have been experiencing headaces, dizziniss. Is this normal and how long will these simptoms go on? Can i half the tablets and drink 1/2 in the morning and 1/2 in the evening. I have just moved and have nobody I know nearby. Please let know of any good and caring doctors you may know of. I am currently on Cymbalta, Attivan, y low dose of Methadone and have morphine for breakthrough pain. This is working for me and I would like to continue but, don't know how to find a doctor. After reading the post sleep paralysis w hallucinations I felt omgosh Iam not the only one, also scared to be on this med anymore. I have been on viibryd for four months now. After talking to my doc about how I have been feeling and feeling like "I just can't handle things at times" and crying while talking with her. What false positives will show on a drug screen with Lexapro? ## Lexapro contains the active ingredient Escitalopram, it is an SSRI antidepressant. As such, it will not show up as anything on a drug screen, it contains no opiate, Benzodiazepine or Amphetamine properties, which are what is normally tested for. Why did you think it would? ## Many prescription medications and over the counter medications that are not supposed to have urine metabolites of something else show up. Individuals who are in positions to receive frequent urine drug screens must always be aware of which medication could cause a problem. I have been taking 60 mg. of duloxetine once a day, in the evening for depression and diabetic neuropathy mainly. I have been taking it for almost 6 weeks with little results yet, but side effects that are very irritating. The main one is moderate/severe nausea sometimes several hours a day, sometimes a couple days a week; cold chills; mouth sores that sort of heal up and then get worse again. Other places I have read that the side effects go away in 1-2 weeks. Mine have not. Should I keep trying and see what happens? For 40+ years I have battled bipolar illness.. been through all meds, many ect, rTMS. and clearly dealing with trd... I’m having some bad dreams and very over anxious. I’m having headaches and constipation. These dreams are the worst. Hi all. Great reading your posts. I am on Mirtazapine for the second time. Happy new year by The way. Firstly my psychiatrist put me on 30mg. It knocked me out every time. I had vivid abnormal dreams, lucid which I love. Nevertheless I had the munchies all the time coupled with lethargy, fuzziness and mild hallucinations. I kept going but was getting chubbier by the week. I'm sorry, but I haven't been able to find a listing for this in any of the prescription drug databases that I've checked and with such an obscure imprint, I'm suspicious that it's just something that's available over the counter. Does anyone else recognize this capsule? Where was it found? Some over the counter products are regional, so knowing the general location could help to narrow it down. Medications do not become dangerous, once expired, but they can lose efficacy, so it may not work as well as it did, when it was new. Thus, it would be best to dispose of it and obtain a new supply. Does anyone have a list of the medications that can cause false positives? I take quite a few meds and my probation officer said I tested positive. This is impossible. I only take what is prescribed to me, and none of them is on the list of Benzodiazepines. ## There are quite a few medications that can cause such false positives, as a matter of fact, it is far too large of a list for me to name them all for you. Have just found out my doc put me on cymbalta and i'll be going back to my home country where this drug is not available. I will go see my doc later this week but was wondering if I could stop taking it until then?
