The biggest side effect I felt was mostly irritability and anxiety. I was able to go into work but tried to keep to myself. I felt sick. Didn't want to socialize. When I finally stopped the med completely it was pretty bad. I'm on day 6 now. Have been unable to work, drive or leave my house ... for fear of ending up in jail or hospital from flipping out. I feel a constant anger and want to break things, and have yelled at the top of my lungs to two people on the phone. I feel disoriented, dizzy, itchy, and confused (itchiness was actually nothing new for me). I'm confined to my house until further notice. Very unpleasant! ## Hi gistell, Sorry to hear about your situation with Viibryd. Th...
Recently my pharmacy began giving me a new version of fluoxetine, which I have taken for MANY years with no problems.... however the blue fluoxetine gives me horrible heart burn. I use to take them at night before bed, but couldn't sleep, so decided to start taking them in the morning and still get the heartburn. I don't take them with any other meds. I tried an empty stomach, and after eating, but the results are still the same. I also get a bad headache (I think from the heartburn.) Has anyone figured out how to avoid this problem? ## Hi Jen, I truly believe that the root cause of this specific heartburn side effect lies within the "inactive" ingredients found in the blue Fluoxetine pill. Reason I say that is because, when you switch brand names or manufacturers, the d...
I have been taking Clopidogrel for 3 years and the bruising I get has gradually gotten worse. It appears all over my body. At the moment I have two black eyes. I have been to doctors numerous times and they send me away saying we can’t change the tablet. I have now been started on depression tablets due to this. Help! ## Unfortunately, easy bruising is a side effect of all of the medications in this class, according to FDA reports, along with nausea, increased risk of bleeding, and headache. Ref: Clopidogrel Information The best suggestion I can make is to sit down with your doctor and ask them how you can mitigate the bruising, ask if there are certain precautions you can take that would help. Are you on any other medications?
Hi there, i have been taking fluoxetine 60mg and 15mg of mirtazapine for quite some time now, unfortunately I'm not sleeping well at all, so I've been to see my doctor and she has told me to stop the mirtazapine straight away and reduce my fluoxetine and gradually introduce the trazadone from 50mg moving up to 100mg possibly 150mg if I feel I need it. I was just wondering if anyone could give me any advice if they have had anything similar with there medication, it's just that I'm so used to taking my fluoxetine, thanks kaz ## My main concern is how drowsy I get when I wake the next morning ## can lyrica mirtazapine and prosac be taken together. im not really sure about this and i am worried. my psychiatris put me on all 3.again ## Trazodone is often used, when someone b...
I was just prescribe Bupropion 150mg 2x daily. I also take Tramadol which was prescribed by the same Dr. I'm afraid to start the Bupropion because of the drug interaction btwn the two. Should I be worried? Can I cut the tablets in half & take 75mg 2x daily? ## Hi Donna, After looking over the interaction between these two medications, I can certainly see why you might be scared to take them together. The interaction I found states the following: "MONITOR CLOSELY: The risk of seizures may be increased during coadministration of tramadol with any substance that can reduce the seizure threshold, such as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRI antidepressants or anorectics), monoamine oxidase inhibitors, neuroleptic agents, central nervous system stimulants, opioids, tricy...
Hi. I think I took a double dose of my pristiq 100mgs today. I am feeling pretty anxious now as I am worried about what could happen? ## I'm Peter. Accidentally took my wife's prestiq 100mg. What will happen to me today? ## I took double dose of pristiq I have been talking this medication for about 8 or 9 years should I be worried ## My daughter can’t remember if she took her Pristiq today. She knows if she misses a dose she will feel awful tomorrow. Should she take a dose now, take half a dose, or not do anything? ## Generally, taking a one time double dose isn't dangerous, unless you are sensitive to Pristiq, allergic to it, or on another medication it may react with, so please watch for signs of any possible issues, such as severe dizziness, extreme drowsiness, or f...
Is this medication considered to be a psychiatric drug? ## I think the drug you are talking about is Elavil?? ## Yes, the correct spelling is as you say, Elavil. Can a person under this medication (300mg) have full faculties to make good choices that would affect the rest of his or her life? Thank you ## Elavil contains the active ingredient Amitriptyline, it is most commonly used as an antidepressant. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and mood changes. Cathy, yes, people are not considered incapacitated by taking a medication like this, so they can continue life, as normal, while being treated with it. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Oh my God, it’s an old anti-depressant. Are you trying to use someone...
I am tested every month. Now someone told me my new meds (Celexa) will make me fail the benzo part of the exam. Is this true? ## Celexa contains the active ingredient Citalopram, which is an SSRI antidepressant and no, it hasn't been known to cause false positives for anything on standard drug tests. ## my daughter tested positive for morphine but all she gas taken recently is celexa, is she lying to me? ## she is a recovering heroin addict so i dont know if i believe her ## can celexa make someone test positive for heroin? a friend of mine was in a bad car wreck and the hospital said something about heroin but then they changed it to celexa and then someone said that it wont do that. please help me figure this out.. ## I know this is an old post, but I just came home from an interv...

Can't seem to find wellbutrin substitute made in the USA. Also, where are meds by Teva made? ## Hello, Lisa! How are you? Where they are actually manufactured doesn't matter. As long as they are approved by FDA, they have had to meet the same efficacy and quality standards as all others that are on the market here. As to where a particular one is manufactured, what are the markings on it? That is what would enable me to check this information for you. This medication may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth and headache. ## I would advise you to do a bit of research before making such generalized claims. Esperide anti-depressant drug - long time use: I have been on esperide for at least 4 years continuously, varying between 2 - 4 capsules a day. The effects were quite significant - i was always tired, even after sleeping for 8 - 12 hrs; i was always grumpy; i forget many things; long & short term, i stopped having my period after 2 yrs & didn't have them for 3 yrs. It felt like i was comotosed; had no interest in things i previously loved, like sit coms & comedy, etc. I had no more energy and was freezing cold in the summer; i was not interested in intimacy. then checked with my gynea why certain hormone levels were extremely high. In the last 2 months I changed to a new anti-depressant - I'm now a new person, periods have come back, laughing again, remembering again...
Has anyone tried Breckenridge Cymbalta? CVS changed. I was taking Prasco pharmaceuticals and had no issues. Just concern ## Have you tried taking it, yet? If so, have you noticed any difference? Not all medications, or their generics, work the same for everyone that tries them, so the only way to really know how it will work for you is by trying it. Does it cause you to experience any of the typical side effects, which are listed as possibly including nausea, somnolence, or dizziness according to the Cymbalta details page? ## I don’t take that, but I had to stop using CVS for my meds because they were ordering the most ineffective generics I have come across. Then Rite Aid must have changed distributors because they did too. Wallgreens isn’t in my network so I am trying to s...
Has anyone else taken Wellbutrin XL, and if so, how would you describe your experience? ## I am trying to figure out how to get off of the Wellbutrin xl 15o mg. i take 1 per day in the morning. It is making me throw up. I am going to start splitting it in half for a week. Then I am going to stop it all together the next week. ## I am not an expert by any means, but if XL stands for "extended release" you are not supposed to cut the pills because it changes the way the drug is released.... like you get it much faster.... ## That is correct, you should not cut, break, or crush a time released tablet, such as this, since it could cause you to get too much of the medication, at once, which may result in overdose, according to FDA warnings. Its typical side effects are listed as poss...
I have been taking Lexapro 10mg once a day for about a year. I have had many unwanted side effects which according to my doctor there are very few side effects from Lexapro. He says it is a clean drug. Wrong. It did nothing to help me and I want off. My doctor refused to give me anti-anxiety meds to help with the withdrawals from Lexapro because once again, there are no withdrawals from Lexapro. Why do doctors lie about this. Why do pharmaceutical companies lie about this? I have read so much about people just losing it while trying to stop taking Lexapro. I have not taken it in about ten days after weaning off for about two months from 10mg to 2 mg a day. My nerves are a wreck, I am extremely irratable, and have slight headaches. This is a horrible drug with many long lasting withdrawa...
I have been quickly tapered off of Pristiq 200 mg....and now am on Brintellix 10 mg. (Total time of taper 2 weeks) I feel like I have the flu. I hate trying new meds and wish there was something that would make these flu like symptoms go away! (Headache, queasy yet having horrible carb cravings, a weird sensation-aches) ## Hello, Mary! How are you? Most likely, you're experiencing both some withdrawal effects and some side effects, at the same time and it will probably take a couple of weeks, before they taper off and things start to improve. Learn more Brintellix details here. The Brintellix is fairly new and its side effects may include headache, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and dizziness….which explains most of your flu-like symptoms. Was the Pristiq no longer working for you...
Are Citalopram pink oval 20 mg tablets manufactured by Aurobindo Pharmaceuticals gluten-free? ## Hello, Kristin! How are you? What are the markings on the tablet? Sometimes the manufacturer listed on the label is a licensed distributor, not the actual manufacturer, so I need these additional details to provide you with the correct information. Citalopram is an SSRI antidepressant that can also help treat anxiety. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, mood swings and weight changes. ## Is Citalopram 20mg gluten and lactose free? I know the 10 milligram doses are.
I have been on Lexapro 10mg for 4 days.. Terrible nausea, diarrhea, clenching jaw. Has anyone felt this? Also my hands are lightly shaking. Wondering when it will stop? I do not feel better yet at all. I was prescribed it for depression and major anxiety. ## HI, Kelly! Sorry that you're feeling so awful. Side effects that severe are not normal and you should contact your doctor as soon as possible. I think this just may not be the right medication for you to take. Some mild nausea and diarrhea are normal, but not severe nausea and the clenching jaw can sometimes be the sign of a severe reaction. ## I had the same reaction, even to the point of possibly being hypomanic, but I enjoyed it. my pupils dilated, sweat constantly, became shaky, felt like I had the flu....it all subsides and...
I have just started taking Lexapro...second day and wow...side effects for me! Heart burn, insomnia, tremors (shaking on inside & outside), nautious, sweats and at times arms feel like they're burning.. If anyone has had these side effects...did you change or continue with Lexapro and did the side effects calm down? ## Hello, Kiara! How are you? I'm sorry about how you're feeling. Those tremors, however, are concerning and you should speak to your doctor about them. That's not a normal side effect as listed by the FDA. The nausea, sweating, insomnia, heartburn and etc. are expected, however. Is there anything else I can help with? ## And this is a typical thing I have seen. The government wants us ALL off of "addictive" meds like benzo's but Lexapro withd...
I want to know if lexepro is effective the for symtoms of depression and anxiety and what side effects can I expect when I first start taking it? ## Yes its effective. I've been taking it for about a month and feel sooo much better. The only side effect I've experienced is loss of sexual desire ## I would rather have the feeling of well being than sex. To have both would be great but ya can't always get what you want. ## Try Cymblata..It is a new Antidepressant on the market..results are good ## well i have been taking lexapro for awhile and the first week it made me really sleepy and the no desire thing too but after some time i couldn't tell it was working anymore ## I started having panic attacks 2 yrs ago. I have been on 15mg of lexapro for 2 yrs now. It took about 3...
I don't care what the research states: Wellbutrin causes your period to be late. I'm usually on time with my period, been taking the medicine 2 x a day (300mg) for 6 weeks now, still no period. I took 2 pregnancy test both negative. Several women on blogs are experiencing this same problem. I'll post again after I get my period, so you can have a timeline. I hope this helps. ## Hello, BryantsGrl! How are you? Menstrual irregularities are listed in the detailed side effect information and many of the antidepressants tend to lengthen the menstrual cycle in women. Your period may also be slightly heavier and last a little longer than normal. Menstrual irregularities associated with bupropion treatment: [1] Pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/1899086 [2] MedlinePlus ## But what about having...
