What's the difference? Any unrelated side effects when switching from one to the other? Other hidden dangers? ## They are both SSRI antidepressants, some doctors will have you taper off of one, when switching to another, but most people can switch without any problems. Side effects of usage are also the same: nausea, drowsiness, headache and dry mouth. Thus, there is no real difference between the drug classes, just sometimes one works better for someone than another. Has your doctor suggested a switch?

antidepressant ## I'm dctor and i need more information about SIMBALTA ## The correct spelling is Cymbalta, which may explain why you had trouble finding it. It helped me immensely with my depression and acute anxiety episode in Paris. Fortunately I met a psychoanalyst specialized in depression. He takes trazodone and tenax. They both are small white pills. One has m on one side and either G4 or 64 on the other side. I was given 25 mg. of Nortriptyline for mild depression; I had trouble sleeping, and was extremely groggy all day; I could hardly move and when I did, every muscle seemed to ache. It was scary! I thought I had some dreaded disease. one other time I was prescribed the drug citalopram for depression and it sent me into a panic attack. So I'm guessing some of these drugs have the opposite effect on my body. Has anyone else had this problem? I really prefer not to take drugs at all...but there are times when I want some help coping.

Amitriptyline is used in the United States and United Kingdom to prevent migraines only in very small doses. Any idea what this is? I take generic Celexa or Citalopram and they gave me this. Doesn't look at all like my usual pill. ## The pill which you have described is in fact Citalopram 40 mg manufactured by Amneal pharmaceuticals. Their Citalopram PDF sheet shows a picture of the pill next to the 40 mg dose. Do you have any other questions or information to add? Please post back if you do...
