Recently my pharmacy began giving me a new version of fluoxetine, which I have taken for MANY years with no problems.... however the blue fluoxetine gives me horrible heart burn. I use to take them at night before bed, but couldn't sleep, so decided to start taking them in the morning and still get the heartburn. I don't take them with any other meds. I tried an empty stomach, and after eating, but the results are still the same. I also get a bad headache (I think from the heartburn.) Has anyone figured out how to avoid this problem? ## Have you tried taking some type of antacid when you take the Fluoxetine? I checked interactions between the most common ones and Fluoxetine and didn't find any problems listed. The ones I ran it against were Omeprazole (Prilosec), Famotidine ...

Posted below are the precautions you should be aware of... The following information applies to: Elavil (amitriptyline) + Pristiq (desvenlafaxine) "MONITOR CLOSELY: Concomitant use of agents with serotonergic activity such as serotonin reuptake inhibitors, monoamine oxidase inhibitors, tricyclic antidepressants, 5-HT1 receptor agonists, ergot alkaloids, lithium, St. John's wort, phenylpiperidine opioids, dextromethorphan, and tryptophan may potentiate the risk of serotonin syndrome, which is a rare but serious and potentially fatal condition thought to result from hyperstimulation of brainstem 5-HT1A and 2A rece...

Can cylift and drinking alcohol make you agressive? ## Cilift contains the active ingredient Citalopram, which is an SSRI antidepressant and it's possible for it to cause aggression and irritability in some people and, of course, adding alcohol to the mix may only worsen such an effect. I have tested positive for benzos three times in the past month (urine). I take over the counter loratadine (10 mg./day), tylenol, and prescription prozac (20 mg./day). Could any of these be causing the false positive or the combination of these? ## From what I could gather, all three of those medications are known to cause false positives for Amphetamines, but I haven't seen anything yet suggesting Benzos... Regardless of that, you, yourself, know that you didn't take what showed up on that test. On the cheaper, less reliable tests, it seems like anything is possible. False positives are known to occur on them anywhere from 4 to 50% of the time. At this point, the best advice I can offer is that you try to dispute your case by getting re-tested with a gas chromatograph mass spe...

fall asleep ok but wake at 1 or 2 am exhausted still ## What time do you take it? Learn more Viibryd details here. I'm curious as to whether or not adjusting the time of day you take it may help. Have you talked to your doctor about it? ## My Dr. advised me to take Viibryd in the evenings. I am on day 12, and I sleep okay sometimes, but mostly I feel exhausted and sleep-deprived. I have interrupted sleep and I wake up too early to get a full 8 hours of sleep. I have tried taking melatonin, but that didn't really help.

getting severe headaches in the evenings, some worse than others. Is this due to this medication? ## Headaches are actually listed as a side effect of Sertraline. Referenced from: If it's becoming too bothersome or severe, I would strongly suggest looking into some natural alternatives or opting for a different medication. You have to keep in mind though that all prescription drugs are going to pose the risk of side effects; so in my opinion, natural is the way to go, depending upon your reasoning for taking Sertraline. I hope this info helps!

I have been taking 60mg generic Prozac for about six months. These days I'm feeling like it's not quite controlling my depression. With my doctor's permission I tried raising the dose to 80mg and it caused me to sleep straight through the entire day. Does anyone know of another antidepressant that might work with prozac but not knock me out? Paxil was wonderful but stopped working after about 3 years as well as wellbutrin and zoloft......all taken by themselves. I would appreciate your suggestions, thank you. ## If you've been off of it for awhile, then I'd suggest considering trying the Paxil again. I stopped taking Effexor 75 mg on Tuseday and started Zoloft 100 mg on Wednesday. I felt sick all day life the flu, I then took 100 Zoloft on Thursday and still feel sick, and I did throw up earlier. I really feel like I'm going through withdrawals from something. I am also taking 50 mg of Trazodone. I started that this Wednesday. I have been on 1 mg of Klonopin for years. What is going on? ## Ideally, it would have been best to slowly taper down on the Effexor, while going up on the dose of the Zoloft. Since you didn't do that, you just stopped taking it, you are likely experiencing some withdrawal/rebound effects. Learn more Zoloft details here. Have your symptoms improved any?

hi all i had been taking amittripitylene for around 15 years but decided i did not want to take them anymore so weaned myself off it has benn around 2-3 weeks since i have taken any but my head still feels cloudy and still feel very tired all the time, does anyone know how long this will last,i really dont want to start taking them again thanks chris ## If you stopped taking them abruptly, without tapering off, then you may experience these withdrawal/rebound effects for anywhere from 4 to 6 weeks. I did it several years ago, upon finding out that I never needed the medication to begin with, we were just treating side effects from another medication and the effects of cloudy head and fatigue lasted about 5 to 6 weeks for me, after taking them for 6 years. I started 100mg zoloft for 3 days then 100mg twice a day. Sees like too much for me. Its only been a week so can I just stop taking it safely? ## I would think that you should be fine since it's only been a week; however, I know everyone responds to these types of drugs differently, so I can't say for certain that you wont experience any withdrawal symptoms. If you do feel the need to take it slower, usually for drugs like this the safest way to stop taking them is to tapper off them, if possible. Some medications can be taken in fractions (actually cut into pieces) and these smaller pieces can be taken in place of the regular dose for a period of several weeks until the body is no longer dependent upon them. I hope this info helps! ## i stopped taking effexor 75mg on tuseday an...

My husband is taking half an oropram 20mg in mornings however he is completely dazed and not functioning at all. Is this reaction expected ? ## Oropram contains the active ingredient Citalopram, it is an SSRI class antidepressant and no, that is not normal. I have been on vibryd for almost 3 months and notice nothing. It is like I'm immune to every anti-depressant out there. I've almost convinced myself that nothing will work to help with my sad thoughts. I've decided to stop taking vibryd because I feel there is no reason to take a pill if it does no good. Does anyone know if there are side effects coming off of this med. It has been three days now and I haven't noticed anything yet. I was up to 40 mg. ## I see this was posted several days ago. How are things going?
