I have been takong celexa for 7 days for anxiety. Well my anxiety is far worse from before and lets just say I havent slept in days, which I never had an issue with sleeping either. Can I stop taking cold turkey since its only been 7 days, or do I have to taper off? ## After only 7 days, you can most likely just stop, but you should double check this with your doctor, to be safe. In most cases, I'd try to encourage someone to stick it out for a month or so, because side effects tend to taper off around that time as your body gets used to a medication, however, increased anxiety and insomnia are two of the most difficult problems to live with, so this most likely just isn't the right medication for you. There are others you can try, so you may want to talk to your doctor to explo...

I have been on 45 mg of mitrazapine for about one year for depression and insomnia. For the past few months 54 mg of concerta has been added in hopes of helping my depression. I really don't feel much better and my anxiety has increased along with my patience. I feel nervous and miserable most of the time. The mitrazapine does help a bit with my sleep, but takes a few hours to take effect. When I wake up each day, I feel like I have a hangover even though I have consume alcohol in months. Any body out there feel like this? I have been unable to work in over 31 months. My depression is so severe that I have actually qualified for permanent long term disability benefits thru my employer.. ## What type of doctor are you seeing, is it a specialist or a general practitioner? will the use of citalopramhbr have an adverse affect on kidneys? ## Based on my research, Citalopram is not recommended for people with severely decreased kidney function, as it has been known to cause mild to moderate renal impairment (kidney failure) in some individuals. That said, you may want to go ahead and discuss this with your doctor before considering the use of Citalopram. This way he or she can make a more informed decision on whether or not it is really right for you. You can learn more about this drug on the page for Citalopram Details I hope this helps!

I am 57 years old and about a year ago began taking lorzapam for anxiety (additional stress with work situation - layoffs and bankruptcy of the co). I learned that lorazapam was addictive, so I talked to my dr about changing to a different med. She receommended zoloft, but I didn't feel as tho I felt the way I should, so now I'm taking Celexa. I'm feeling better after taking it for the last couple of months, although I really dislike the dry mouth and weight gain. I used to walk 3 miles a day 5-6 days per week and lost about 12 lbs. After changing from the lorzepam to zoloft and now to celexa, I have gained about 8 lbs. back. I lost the initiative to talk my walks. I also feel that I crave foods high in carbs (never even had cravings during pregancy). Do others of you face t...

I have a prescription for Cymbalta thats about 6yrs old...will the pills still work? ## At this point, you should really just properly dispose of them. Once they are removed from the original factory sealed bottle, tablets and capsules have a one year expiration date, because they are then exposed to the elements, which hastens degradation. This means that they lose effectiveness over time, thus after this many years, they are most likely worthless. Learn more Cymbalta details here. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have been prescribed this drug today due to having painful nerve endings in the face.Is this a good drug for this type of pain?I need something to stop the pain.Fingerscrossed ## Well this was originally approved as an antidepressant, which later was found to help with some types of nerve pain. Whether it will help you or not, is something that no one can guess. These types of medications are great for some people, and don't work at all for others. All you can do is try it for a couple of weeks and see if it helps you. ## Sharon - I hope you read this. If you divide your face into 4 quarters, from ear to ear thru your nose and from chin to your fore head thru your nose, and you find that your pain is in one of these quarters there is a good chance you suffer from trigeminal neural...

I've been on on bupropion xl 150 mg for almost 1 year. During this time my depression has gotten worse. I attributed the decline in my mood and inability to cope to things happening in my life. Now I'm wondering if this generic form is the problem. Anyone else having these problems? ## There is also a chance that it may just not be the right medication for you to take. Not all of them work for everyone that tries them and some people become resistant to some fairly fast. Have you talked to your doctor about? You may need to try a different medication.

Take linsopril 5mg1a day bupropion sr 150mg 2a day zonisamide 100mg 4a day birth control 1a day. Lost close to 20 lbs befor linsopril, but haven't been on it a month yet. Seem to have stalled out. Weight is VERY important issue (please don't ask why :) any thoughts? Body need to adjust? Pain/ can't workout like used to ## How long have you been taking the birth control? The reason I'm asking is because if you've been on it for awhile and just recently started the Lisinopril for blood pressure elevation, there's a chance that the contraceptives are what's causing the elevation and you may not need to take another medication. There's a chance it could be resolved by just stopping the hormonal contraceptives. Depending on how high it is, you may need a blood...

how is it possible to take 15mg of citalopram? I was on 10 but felt flat then moved to 20 mg whihc gave me headaches so it been suggested that 15mg would help but since the tablet come in 10 mg 20mg and 40mg i have no idea how to take 15mg ## @netty, Based on your individual needs, I think it would be wise to go ahead and talk to your doctor about the option of cutting your pills into fractioned dosages. This way you can have more control over how much you're getting. Are these tablets marked with a score line by chance? ## Yes but I'm not sure how to get 15mg from 20 mg tablet ## Cut the 20 in half - you then have 10mg each half. Then cut one of the halves in half again. Each half is 5 mg. Take one half and one of the smaller halves that is 15 mg. They have pill cutters or just...

I've been on 40 mgs of viibryd for 7 weeks. I've noticed a loss of appetite, which is good. However, recently I've noticed a mild burning sensation seemingly at the top of my stomach. I will have that looked at when I get home. Does this sound familiar to any of you? Also, is it OK to take Tylonel PM with 40 mgs of Viibryd? ## Although I'm not familiar with the symptoms you're describing, I did find information stating that there are no interactions 'found' between Tylenol PM and Viibryd. This does not necessarily mean no interactions exist, but my sources state that every effort has been made to ensure that the information provided is accurate. Do you think any foods you've eaten are causing this burning sensation? Or would you consider it to be a side e...

How well does the pink oval-shaped tablet (imprinted with 508 on one side) work as compared with the tan oval-shaped tablet (imprinted with 1010 on one side)? ## This drug sounds a little scary, what are the terrible side effects? I'm diabetic and suffer with an anxiety disorder. ## I am diabetic also and have been taking this pill for 4 years now. I also take cholesterol pills, blood pressure pills and thyroid pills. My diabetes consists of taking insulin. I have had NO problem with this pill, other than some diarrhea at first. It takes about a month to get used to it. It has helped me through some rough stress in my life. Everyone is an individual, so this is my experience, but for me, I am fine with it. I get blood tested every 3 months. They have found nothing abnormal.
