I have been trying to start pristiq but I take it once and feel so nauseated, head spins, just a general horrible feeling in my head (possibly the brain zaps others have described) and fatigue. I have a one yr old to care for so if the effects were to continue I would persist, if not I will see my dr about swapping. Will the side effects decrease with time? Stay the same? Or get worse? ## In theory, they should decrease with time, as your body gets used to the medication, but it may take 4 to 6 weeks for that to happen. Learn more Pristiq details here. If they are that bothersome, you may want to consult your doctor about trying a different medication that doesn't cause as many side effects. Some are just more problematic than others. Have you tried any others, or is this the first ...

I was on 40 mg of Celexa for about a year when I started getting terrible night sweats - in the winter. I attributed it to a heated mattress pad for a while but nothing seemed to help, so I started researching and found that sweating can be a side effect of the drug. The strange thing is that I didn't have a problem with it until after a year of taking it! Is this possible? I saw my doc who insisted it wasn't the Celexa because I hadn't had the symptom from the beginning, but I started cutting my pills in half anyway, so now I take 20 mg a day. It seemed to help for a while, but now my night sweats are out of control again and it is driving me crazy. Is it possible for the med to build up gradually in the body and cause symptoms much later? ## Hello, Allynchica! How are you?...

Has anyone experienced a burning sensation at the tip of the breastbone and under the ribs that travels up to the throat and jaw? ## Hello, Sunshine! How are you? That could be due to something such as GERD, which is when excess stomach acid refluxes up into your esophagus. But that is just one possibility, there are other health issues that may cause such symptoms. Have you consulted your doctor? That would be the best way to get to the root of the problem. Does it happen at any particular time, such as after you eat? Or after indulging in alcoholic beverages?

This is an SSRI, for this drug to have its full effect on you, it is necessary to take it for several weeks, thus there usually isn't much reaction or side effects at all when you take your first dose. The primary symptom that occurs when you first start taking it is drowsiness. It has a cumulative effect, which is why it takes several weeks for you to get the full effects of it an d see if it will work for you, so it will also take a few days before ytou may experience any other side effects. I was on prescription painkillers with meprobamate and have now stopped. Can I take tryptophan to help with the withdrawal ## Hi Anand, From what I've read, L-Tryptophan is known for its use in helping patient's reduce the severity and occurrence of certain withdrawal symptoms upon stopping those types of medications. Apparently, the body creates 5-HTP from it, which then starts the conversion process to serotonin and melatonin. You'd ultimately have to talk with your doctor about proper dosing, but it sounds like some people have had success taking 3000mgs/day in divided doses. You can learn more about this drug on the page for Tryptophan Details I hope this helps!

I have been taking Nuzak for 4 years, but I feel very tired no matter how much I sleep. I have also gained about 15kg. Can this be the nuzak? ## Hello, Maria! How are you? Sorry about the problems that you're having. Nuzak contains the active ingredient Fluoxetine, which is an SSRI antidepressant and they can cause REM sleep latency, so you don't enter the REM state as fast, or stay in it as long as normal, that's usually what causes the tired feeling. Learn more Nuzak details here. However, this one usually causes weight loss in most people, not much of a gain, at all. Have you discussed it with your doctor?

i am on imipramine pamoate 100 mg. and imipramine pamoate 75mg. i have tried other antidepressants. everytime i do try other antidepressante i start having withdrawal effects. the reason i have tried others is because my drug pha. which is cigna charges me over 800 dollars the last three months of each year because i am over 65 and go into what is called the coverage gap. in other words, they are making me pay more for the drug because of the coverage gap. does anyone have a different medicare pharmacy that does not charge so much. they are also classifying imipramine pamoate as a brand rather then genetic. ## Hello, Glenda! I was doing great until I took Viibryd for 1 month @40mg...Then I developed: extreme fatigue, nausea, vomiting, painful, burning red rash on both legs and swelling of hands, feet and legs. This caused a 12 pound weight gain over night! I tapered off of Viibryd as quickly as I could due to the extreme pain from the rash. I been off of Viibryd for 7 days and rash is gone! I thought I was going to do good coming off of this drug, but nausea, vomiting, confusion, dizziness, suicidal thoughts, extreme depression and panic attacks are bad!! If you have not started this drug, I would recommend you research before taking it. It may help some but in my case it just caused more pain, disappointment and sickness......... ## HI, DC! Hi, I know there is another topic for Lexapro withdraw but I don't feel I can get proper replies posting there because there are more than 2,000 messages there. I have been on lexapro 20mg for over 4 years for anxiety and it has helped me a lot alongside therapy. I am definitely at a much better place now, and my therapist has recommended I didn't need to see him anymore, specially because I was going for couple therapy with my Fiance which also helped us a lot. The couples therapist also recommended that we didn't need the sessions anymore. I mentioned to my doctor (psychiatrist) that lexapro has really affected my libido. I asked him if I could start tapering it down and he suggested I took half (10mg) from now on. This was several months ago and I was in the process of re...
