Hello, I'm a journalist writing a piece about antidepressants that can cause weight loss (ie Wellbutrin / Celexa / Effexor) and am looking for British women aged 30 plus who are taking antidepressants specifically to lose weight. If you are happy to be named and pictured and would like to talk about this please contact me at antoniahoyle.com - asap. I can pay you a fee on publication and offer quote approval. Thanks, Antonia

Greetings, I just went to my doctor today and she is switching me from Celexa 20mg to Viibryd 40mg. I notice a lot of you have stated that you titrated the medication up to 40mg. My doctor is starting me off at 40mg and now I'm worried. I understand both Celexa and Viibryd are both SSRI's and maybe that is why she is starting me off so high!? But I take my first dose in the morning.. I'm kind of worried that I should be on the starter pack. Any suggestions? ## Hello, JustMe! How are you? Asking your doctor about it would be the only way to get a definitive answer, however, it is most likely that they are just trying to help you do a clean switch from one to other in order to prevent any withdrawal and rebound effects. Since you were already on one, there is a risk of such oc...

I have been on Pristiq for about 4 years and was on levoxyl for a few years prior. I had started taking Sarafem 925mg) about 8 or 9 yrs ago for pms by my gyno. I had thyroid cancer 11 years ago and I have not been the same since I had my thyroid removed. I dont know if I should be blaming the fact that I dont have a thyroid on my issues or if I am truly depressed. I want to be off Pristiq to see how I am now without any meds. I am having a lot of bad thoughts but don't know if that is part of the withdrawl. I have not had any brain zaps and I had taken my 50mg every other day for 2 weeks and am now on every 3rd day. I am feeling a little foggy with occasional dizziness and did cry on Mother's Day but I was missing my mom too so not sure what is realted to what. What will the Dr....

Hi all, I was on 150 of pristiq and have been tapering off for two months. Last week I went from 50 to 25 for about 4 days. Then I did 25 every other day. Then I just wanted to be done. I am so nauseous and cloudy. I feel like I can't think straight or formulate a sentenced. My balance is off and I've had migraines on and off. I can't believe I didn't know how bad these symptoms were. I am so miserable, but it is getting better each day. I am so tired. I wish I never went on this. My dr. Wanted to put me on Prozac while I am withdrawing from pristiq. I am so scared to go back on anything after this experience. Today I cried on and off all day. I e never been that bad. I feel like I am gong crazy! Please..someone tell me I will be ok. ## Hi, Jo! Sorry about the way you...

I am in a drug rehab and dropped dirty for pcp and benzos I know that my effexor will give a false posative for the pcp but dont know why I would drop dirty for the benzos. I am also on parole and this information got sent to my agent and I would like to know if its possible that the effexor could give a false posative for the benzos as well other than that I take nothing more than tylenol. If anyone knows please let me know.

So far, I've been unable to find a listing for this tablet in any of the resources that I've checked. Can you please double check the imprint and post back? I'll keep looking and post back, when I have information for you. Does anyone else recognize this tablet? ## It is Escitalopram (lexapro) 20mg

I have had varying degrees of depression for 25 years now. I have tried 6 or7 of the SSRI'S. Mostly Prozac. Most recently Zoloft. I have never found total relief of symptom with any of these meds. I am on day 6 of the starter pack. So far, so good! I will keep you posted! ## Viibryd is pretty much like most of the others, there are people that have good luck with it and those that don't. Learn more Viibryd details here. I certainly hope it works for you. What other classes of medications have you tried? ## Hi r u still on viibryd what was your experience thx

How are you? Yes, it is a very bad idea to drink alcohol when you're taking any prescription medication. It can intensify the side effects, so you can experience much more drowsiness, dizziness and nausea, than normal. Learn more Nexito Forte details here. Additionally, alcohol causes depression, so you're really just making yourself worse by imbibing. Are there any other questions or concerns?

I tested positive for PCP and Pot and have taken neither of them!! I took a test at my PCP the next day and didn't test positive for anything other than what I was prescribed. I don't get it. I don't even know what PCP is! I certainly know what pot is but haven't touched it in at least 13 years!!! I tested negative at my Dr. the next day. I just don't know what to do. I could lose my job over this crap. Any advice?

Is it successful in relieving atypical depression? ## Hello, Linda! How are you? As with any medication, while it has been proven effective to the standards of the U.S. FDA, it doesn't work for everyone that tries it. The only thing you can really do is try it and see if it helps you. Learn more Brintellix details here. Its side effects may include nausea, dizziness, diarrhea and headache. I've been on the pill (Diane 35) for 7 months now and was put on Cilift (Citalopram) about 2 weeks ago for depression and anxiety. I'm 18 years old. I've been feeling very strange: loss of appetite, tremors, I need to wee a lot more frequently, I'm going to bed much earlier (around 20:30) and I always wake up at 00:30. I toss and turn the whole night, I never get a good night's rest. I feel very weak and shaky, sometimes lightheaded or like I'm going to faint. If I take the pill a few hours late, I will always vomit early the next morning around 2 am . I was just wondering if anyone else has been experiencing this, any info will be great :) ## If Cilift is the only new medication that's been added, then it's most likely the one that's causing these si...

I have been on Wellbutrin for a month and a half. My doctor started me with the regular release bupropion 75mg twice a day and then three weeks ago changed it to Wellbutrin XL (generic) and it has been great for those three weeks. Little anxiety and very productive and motivated again. However the past two days I have started to feel in a slump again. I find it hard to keep myself doing these things I've started doing while on my motivational spree. Is the wellbutrin calming down in my system or something and showing how it is actually going to be working from now on or could it be something else? I also take 150 to 300mg of gabapentin daily, depending on my anxiety level, if that info is something to take into consideration. Can anyone give me some insight on this? ## I forgot to m...

I wad bitten by a dog and have nerve damage in the hand. The pointing finger doesn't work. I can't bend it when I make a fist. My doctor has given me Tripolene and said it will help with the pain. Is this correct? I don't want to put on weight taking it ## Hello, Patricia! How are you doing? Sorry that you're in pain. Tripolene contains the active ingredient Amitriptyline, which is a tricyclic antidepressant and yes, they do sometimes help with nerve pain. However, it can cause some weight gain as a side effect, but there's no way of knowing if that will happen to you. Learn more Tripoline details here. Are there any other questions or concerns?

Is 60mg of cymbalta the same as 150 mg of Welbutrin ## Hello, Dee! How are you? These two aren't in the same class of medications, so they really wouldn't be considered the same, at all. They can't be used interchangeably. You can learn more specific Wellbutrin details here. It's an atypical antidepressant that's also used to aid in smoking cessation. And at this link you can learn more Cymbalta details and see that it's an SNRI antidepressant. Has your doctor switched you from one to the other?

I have been on Sertraline for over a year. I now have breast cancer and have just started chemotherapy. Is it safe to continue taking Sertraline? ## Hello, Jean! How are you doing? I'm very sorry about the cancer diagnosis and I really hope all goes well and that they caught it early. As to continuing the Sertraline, I really think you should discuss that with your oncologist. Both cancer and the chemotherapy medications can be very touchy and the slightest thing could cause problems, thus it would be remiss of someone online to tell you yes or no on this, when that may not be in your best interest. Learn more Sertraline details here. When will you be seeing your doctor, again?
