Also, I am taking Lamotrigine (150mg) in the evenings. I have started working out and am wondering whether there might be any problems caused by the amino acid supplementation, sweetening (stevia) or other ingredients present in my chocolate-flavored protein powder (a whey isolate variety). I am 50-year-old male who is in generally pretty good health, with no known health problems other than the bipolar. One family I know had problems. A mother (who has had some sort of mental health problem) and her adult son (who is bipolar) both had to discontinue using protein powders (apparently for her it was an amino acid issue, and I'm not exactly...
I have been taking Pristiq for 4 days and am really struggling with the tiredness, bulging eyes feeling and nausea. Is there another medication that can be used to help treat these side effects, especially while adjusting to this new medication. I should add that 5 days ago I abruptly stopped taking my 150 mg Effexor after taking it for 3 years (I know that this probably was not wise to do - as I have tried to get off Effexor many times in the past - but was under the impression that I could go directly from one to the other). ## been on 50 mg of pristiq for 2.5 years...how to get of it completely? ## Just started 50mg pristiq. How many days does it normally take stop stop feeling sick, headed and zombie like? I've been on antidepresants before and do remember that this goes away. I...

i'e been on Paxil (20 mg)for about 2 years to calm menopausal hot flushes. It's worked like a charm, and given me wonderful sleeps. However, after an emotional trauma, I had one sleepless night, and suddenly, all the symptoms of Paxil withdrawal have appeared. I feel thirsty all the time and my head feels like I'm having mild electric shocks, together with dizziness and nausea. I tried to explain this to a pharmacist, here in Mexico, where I'm on holiday. She didn't know what I was talking about. Any feedback on his would be appreciated. ## Hello, Rachelle! How are you doing? Are you feeling any better? That is very odd. Insomnia can cause those types of issues, but they certainly shouldn't be ongoing. Will you be back in the states soon to consult your doctor ab...

I have been on Citalopram for two years but recently switched my prescription from Walgreens to Target (for convenience). I discovered that these retailers get their Citalopram from different manufacturers (the pills look entirely different, for one; and, the mfr. is also listed on the label). Within a few weeks it was obvious that the new prescription wasn't doing as good as job. So, I switched back (to Walgreens) and I'm glad I did. Sure enough, I've been feeling better again. Lesson: You never kjnow: your body may respond better to one manufacturer's generic than another. I had read this was possible, and it ended up being true in this case for me. ## HI! I'm glad you were able to switch back to the one that worked better for you. They may not always get theirs fr...

My wife is taking nexito 10 for 2 years. Doctor suggested to reduce dose step by step. But when reduce it that increase her depression again. My question is that is it wise to take this medicine for long time? It has some side effect. Please suggest me what can I do? ## If her dose is being decreased, it is normal for her to experience some worsening depression as a rebound effect for a short period of time. However, the whole reason for the taper is to minimize that as much as possible, by gradually going down in the dosage. Learn more Nexito details here. As to the medication, some people do require these types of medications for a long period of time, depending on their condition and response to treatment. Is she also going to therapy to learn coping skills? ## I had been taking nexi...

You neglected to mention it in your post and didn't post this under a specific drug, so I am unable to answer your question.

This is an antidepressant generic and I wonder if anyone has been taking this pill. I am wondering if generics are potent enough to take care of depression, social anxiety and compulsive disorders. Please identify. ## Hello, Toni! How are you? I think you might be misunderstanding generic medications. There can be slight differences between them and the name brands, but slight is the operative word. The allowable difference is plus or minus 20%, which means yes, they are still potent enough to work. Occasionally, some people that are sensitive to medications may have problems with a generic, or they may find that one doesn't work as well for them, if they've been taking the name brand for a very long time, but it's not common for this to happen. Is there anything else I can ...
you note that generic meds can be marked same as proprietery "other" mess. how to be sure what I have? ## Hello, Dr. Dre! How are you? I think you're misunderstanding, so I'll try to clear this up for you. All prescription medications are marked, but the markings have to be unique to each manufacturer, each medication and each dosage of that medication. For instance, a round white tablet with A 101 on one side in black print, with nothing on the other is listed as being a 150mg Budeprion XL tablet, which is a time released formulation of Bupropion. Now, there are other companies that also make a 150mg time released dosage, but they cannot use the same imprint, they have to use a different one. This is done to help make sure that the medications can be identified and trac...
Please let me know if you have had positive results on viibryd and your experience with it ## Hello, Theresa! How are you? Hello all. I took my first Prozac pill about 2 hours ago and about an hour ago I started feeling extremely anxious - noticeably worse than my normal level of anxiety. Is this common at all? ## Hello, K! How are you doing? Yes, that can happen when you first start one of these types of medications, things can actually get worse for awhile, before they get better. I take it to help with perimenopause symptoms and when I first started it or whenever the dosage was changed, I found things to be a bit rough for the first 2 to 3 weeks. Learn more Prozac details here. It may also cause other side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, loss of appetite and weight loss. If it gets very severe or if you start having suicidal thoughts, please contact your doctor immediately. Are there any ...
I'm diagnosed as having Bipolar 2. I take Lamictin 25 - 1x tablet twice a day, Trepiline - 2x tablet @night, Dopaquel - 1x @night, Escitalopram - 1.5 in the morning, Urbanol - 2x tablets a day. I'm trying to loose about 5kg. I'm watching my eating habits & I use my Orbitrack 3x a day for 30 minutes. I have not lost 1kg in 2weeks. Does that make sense? I have been told that the problem could be the Lamictin. I'm not sure if it could be that or a combination of the tablets. Please let me know what you think? ## Hi Betty, Sorry to hear about your challenges with weight while taking this medication. From what I could gather, weight gain isn't something that's generally associated with Lamictin (lamotrigine). The Lamotrigine Details drug article actually shows ...
Im finding my prescription of 1 10mg of doxepin a day too strong, can I divide it up and take it 2 times a day without the capsule? ## Hello, Janet! How are you? This is a tricyclic antidepressant and its common side effects may include nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and weight changes. Learn more Doxepin details here. Found 4 of these pills in grandsons room. About 6 yrs ago i had pills looked very much like them but they were use for my nerves. He is only 17 & does not have any medications for himself. I do have medications that should have been thrown out and wondering if he got them from me. I dont recall if i had any of those kind left but it could have been possible. I will be taking all other out dated meds to the proper place. Not sure where he got them but if I know , I can then question him about this properly ## Hello, Jenny! How are you? Cymbalta was prescribed to help nerve pain as a result of a cut nerve during surgery. I have been on it for 6-7 weeks and have little relief. My oncologist wants be to go off of it so I've been taking one every other day. I'm having bad pains now. Is this from weaning off.? ## Hello, Ali! Sorry about the pain that you're in. Yes, it may be a rebound effect from tapering them, some medications can do that. Why does he want you to discontinue it? What are you taking to treat the pain now? ## I've been on gabapentin for over two years, oxicodone 10, and In chemo with Doxil. Bad reaction same time starting Cymbalta and doxil. Doctor wanted me off cymb. to see which one was causing side effects.
