I have been on Lexapro for about 7 years. I feel like it has just been masking my anxiety/depression. I want to try to come off of it, I want to try and be healthy on my own. Does anyone have long use effects? I feel tired all the time. I have ZERO libido. I eat all the time, almost feel like anxiety is still there. I'm lazy, just don't want to do anything. Has anyone tapered off? How was the experience? What do you do now for anxiety? Thank you so much. ## What does your Dr say about coming off? Do they agree you should? ## Hi Lariana, How are you? I actually don't have any personal experience with this medication, but from reading your description I get the sense that you may need to talk with your doctor about developing some sort of tapering schedule to help you graduall...

Has anyone suffered a burning sensation while taking Effexor? I don't know if it was caused by sun exposure but have had a burning sensation in my back for 3 weeks now. Feels like sunburn but no redness, peeling or anything. ## Hello, Sarah! How are you? Yes, that has been a reported side effect of Effexor. How long have you been taking it? It's usually not caused by sun exposure, it just tends to happen. Other side effects may include nausea, drowsiness and weight changes. Most side effects occur during the first 4 to 6 weeks of taking a medication, then taper off, once your body gets used to the drug. ## Hello Sarah, After reading your post I'm really worried about you because you might be the victim of effexor side effects which further leads to uncurable diseases. I woul...

I have been on Excitalopram for about a little over a year. I was feeling tired but I could not sleep at nights or take napes because my mind was thinking and thinking and i was restless and I could not stop shacking my legs because of the restlessness. All this even though I was exercising 5 days a week. I thought I was over doing it but then I took a break for two weeks and it did not help. I felt more anxious and angry as well as mood swings at times. Please help? ## Hello, Bean! How are you? Sometimes these medications can have the opposite of their intended effect in some people that take them. You'll likely need to try a different drug, because if such side effects haven't stopped by now, then they aren't going to. When are you seeing your doctor again to discuss the i...

Hi I've been taking brintellix for six days and I am also taking 25mg of hydrochlothazide, 37.5 of phentermine and 20 meqs of potassium ×2 and I am having pains (6 on a scale of one to ten) in my left upper thing (back), back of knee, inside ankle and foot / heel. My left leg/ thigh in warmer then the right probably because of the pain. My leg also feels 'dry' which is weird. I have some gastritis but nothing unreasonable. I do have to hurry to the restroom after I take my morning dose of brintellix- which I take with all the other meds. It doesnt cause too much nausea but definitely some. I am afraid that maybe something is severely wrong because of my left limb pain. Its not swollen just a little numb and very sore. My bottom hurts also. Am I doing something wrong? I ...

I have a few questions regarding a medication I recently started. I was prescribed Wellbutrin, and the medication I received has the title "Bupropion HCL 75 mg" (I'm assuming this is the generic version). 1) On several online forums and medical dictionaries etc, there is a lot of mention of SR, XL, etc... How do I know whether the medicine I have is Suspended Release, or Extended release? 2) Under the guidance of my doctor, we are slowly beginning to up my daily dose. I have been taking one 75 mg pill in the morning for the past 7 days. Now I am supposed to double this, taking two pills per day. What is the best/safest/most effective way for me to take this medication? Should I be taking them both together in the morning, i.e two 75 mg pills? Or should I be spacing them out,...

I started on Pristiq ER 50mg and also Lipitor 10mg a month ago and saw the doctor at that time. She listened to my heart rate which was fine. The Pristiq has been working very well and I have even lost 5 pounds; had gained about 40 pounds on Cymbalta. So about a week and a half ago I noticed that my pulse rate was irregular which could have started before I noticed it. I got very light-headed at work. I went to ER the other night and my heart rhythm was going in and out of bigeminy which is a normal beat followed by a premature ventricular beat. I just wore a Holter Monitor for 24 hours. Lab work was ok and I need to see a Cardiologist. I have never had this before and am just wondering if anyone else had had some symptoms like this. I have to see my regular doctor tomorrow and am not t...

I just started taking citalopram 20 mg 5 days ago. Today I had a terrible all over anxiety/panic attack that lasted about 10 min. I've never had anything that intense before. I wonder if I should just give this med more time to get in my system. Just wondering if this happened to anyone else? ## Hi they think citalapram takes 5-6 weeks to work u will feel worse before better keep at it is an amazing tablet it's helped me a great deal ## Hello, I seen you posted this a little while back. I was wondering how you were doing? I have started this medicine this past Friday. I have taken 4 doses of 10mg. Yesterday / Last night I felt terribly anxious for a good part of the day, and last night I woke up in a panic, and finally fell asleep about an hour later. Today, I feel a little ston...

I just started my Viibryd trial pack. I'm in the 5th day. I wouldn't call myself seriously depressed, but my doctor gave me this because Wellbutrin was giving me a headache daily. I do not have a prescription yet. My question is: Why go to a dose of 40mg. if you feel good on 20 or 10mg.? I could see going higher if less isn't doing it for you. What's the normal dose? ## I'll add to my own post. I'm now about 2 weeks into the trial pack. I did not go up to the 20mg., but broke them in half. I will not up it until I need to. I called my Dr. and asked for a 90 day script for the 20mg, which I will break in half. I do get a slight headache sometimes. I take Imitrex and it takes it away. I've been fooling around with the time I take it. I'm now taking it with ...

Hi, Has anyone noticed complete lose of affection and passion in their marriage or relationship while on venlafaxine? ## Hello, Mark! How are you? Some of these medications do tend to reduce or entirely eliminate libido in either gender. The best thing to do would be to consult ones doctor and try an alternative medication. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Hi, Thanks for the Reply! I'm going to Start weaning myself off. I'm currently taking 150mg. I have read all kinds of horror stories.

I have been taking zoloft 50 mg for 6 years now. I felt my anxiety coming back a little stronger so my doctor up my dose 25 mg. so I have been taking a total of 75 mg for 2 months. I have been having bad problems with dizziness and lightheadness. I thought that the side affects would diminish but they are strong as ever. Is this normal to have these side after 2 months? ## No, that's not normal. Most side effects usually last about 4 to 6 weeks, then taper off in severity, once your body had gotten used to the medication or dosage increase. Are you on any other medications? Has anything else changed in your diet or daily routine recently? ## I'm on Diovan for blood pressure which I've been taking for 10 years. I have noticed that even taking Zoloft my anxiety is still always...

I have a history of anxiety/depression. After 2 life changing events I fell back into this funk. Was put on Luvox and it worked fine. Then had another loss with a company rightsizing and was laid off and have since moved back into home with parents (I am 40). Without insurance started going to local psychiatrist who decided I was Bipolar. To make long story short..........wrong diagnosis. After a month and a half on Latuda which has sent me spiraling down even further into depression and hopelessness, my parents got involved and with blessing of my psychologist (who also didn't think I was Bipolar) we weaned me off of Latuda and onto 10 mg Lexapro after much research. I've been on for 2 weeks and have suffered the nausea, dizziness and loss of weight and right now after 2 1/2 mo...

I have had anxiety since I was 9, panick attacks since roughly about 13 and depression has just come on the past few months. I have been on aropax since I was 18 I'm now 24. Over the past month my doctor has been weaning me off it. I was on 60mg (3 tablets) so I cut down to two tablets for a week, then 1 tablet for a week then half a tablet for a week then no tablets for a week. The weeks I only took 2 and 1 I actually felt great the only side effect would be slight nausea that would last a couple of hours but nothing major at all. The week of have half and none have been the worst ever! I read many stories of how hard it can be. Although I don't think my experience was as bad as others. Severe nausea which lasted all day and feeling dizzy I would never vomit though. I start lex...

taking Pur-Bloka 10mg 3 imes a day. as part of my anti-depression medication. i am expenriencing extreme tiredness. does this get any better or should i ask for another type of medication. ## Hello, Monica! How are you? Since this contains the active ingredient Propranolol, which lowers heart rate and blood pressure, it might be causing yours to drop too low. Have you checked your blood pressure or heart rate, while you're feeling that way? This just might not be the right medication for you and you may need to switch to something else. ## Thank you Verwon. I have now reduced it to 1 tablet twice daily and feel much better. I will however monitor my blood pressure from now on. Thanks for the advise.

What is the medication used for? ## Hello, Vitalis! How are you? Did you mean Cilift? It contains the active ingredient Citalopram, which is an SSRi antidepressant that can also be used to treat anxiety. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and weight changes.

I have been taking Lexamil 20mg for 4months, I realize weight gain can be a side effect. However ive picked up 9kg in such a short space of time. I also take trepiline at night? Is this normal. Dont want to run to the doctor for a silly side effect as I am not on a medical aid yet. All my other symptoms have improved and I am not depressed anymore. ## Hello, Bronny! How are you? Yes, both of these medication can cause weight gain, actually. Thus, what you're experiencing is a normal side effect. For most people, it levels out and doesn't continue. If that happens, then you may need to switch medications. Is there anything else I can help with?

I had Prozac fluxitine in my fridge and I went in the fridge and picked up the bottle I taken 10ml of it and it tasted funny and wen I looked at the date it was the wrong bottle it was 2 month out of date just askin for some advise really coz feeling abit sick now ## Hello, Serah! How are you? Did you experience any adverse effects? The medication doesn't become toxic, once expired, but the liquid could turn rancid, which can cause nausea and vomiting. The best thing to do, in the future, would be to dispose of the expired medication.

i am of 24 and i am using tryptomer 10mg and trenzorid-p at a time before going to bed, doctor suggested me this because i was mentally depressed and not having sleep properly and heavy work pressure in office. so i dont want to take risk with my health ## @md shahbaz, How are you today? Sorry to hear about your challenges with depression. Based on my research, Tryptomer contains the active ingredient Amitriptyline; however, no medications seem to exist by the name of "Trenzorid-P", so unfortunately I can't do a check for drug interactions without the correct name or spelling of that one. Is it possible that you ordered this medication from overseas and had it shipped to the US? If it's foreign, that could be the reason why nothing comes up when you search for that name ...
