Hi, all. I'm just beginning my third month of Zoloft and it's been quite a ride. First few weeks and as my dose increased, I had nearly every side effect listed: headache, nausea, dreams, dry mouth etc., but about week three I started "smelling the roses." I remember thinking I got my life back. I honestly still think it saved my life. Then for a solid 1.5 weeks, out of nowhere, I couldn't fall asleep longer than 2hrs a night. I would sleep 2 hrs and wake up and that was it. That's NOT like me, at all. Eventually, that passed. The fun Zoloft dreams ended about the same time. Now, I just feel totally lethargic. My #1 fav thing to do is lay in bed, lights off. I even called off work to do this all day yesterday. I had stuff to do to prep for work, decided I'd r...

This tablet is manufactured by Qualitest Pharmaceuticals and they list it as containing 50mgs of Amitriptyline. The FDA classifies this medication as being a tricyclic antidepressant. Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, mood swings and weight changes. Is there anything else I can help with?

Is this drug in the family of drugs with cymbalta or could it be substituted for cymbalta ## Hello, Larry! How are you? Did you mean Duloxetine? That is the active ingredient in Cymbalta, so its what the generics would be called. The FDA classifies this medication as an SSNRI antidepressant. Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, mood swings and weight changes. Is there anything else I can help with?

I took Cymbalta (generic given by pharmacy), Duloxetine, 60 mg for depression for about three years. December 2014, increased depression, psychopharmocologist raised to 90 mg. Within a month had severe gastroenteritis first time. Increased daily indigestion, bad taste in mouth, bitter, metallic, ongoing. Second time two weeks later. Went to primary care doctor. Abdominal exam ok. Blood work done and sent for abdominal ultrasound. And Gastroenterologist visit. Blood work fine. Ultrasound done and clear. Future testing planned. Had third gastroenteritis. Called psychopharmocologist when ruled out other causes. He agreed Cymbalta the problem. Was lowered to 60 mg. Now weekly episode of extreme nausea and vomiting. By the way, depression symptoms responded well. That's the good part. Yes...

I had a brain surgery for an aneurysm 4 years ago, non ruptured. I was left with severe depression...........NO antidepressant has worked, started cymbalta, and went from 164lbs-180 in 4 weeks.............I think not. I was at 160 due to abilify, was getting of that...was 151 before that. I consider these meds poison. My face looks swollen. But now I feel GREAT! So it is a choice, my physical health, of mental......maybe I will be ok, don't know. I am doing what a writer above did. I am pouring out half, take for a week, then half from the half, take for a week. .. then take the fourth of a capsule remaining for a week. I am a RN, and it sounds safe, the way we would titrate patients........so here I go............let you know how I do as I go. . ## I am 6 weeks - cold turkey - free...

gone off serequel and they put me on trazadone. (50mg). I does nothing and yet they say 2 will give hallucinations. what can I do. I cannot sleep w/ 1 of the trazadone. ## That's odd, it can be given in doses much higher than that, it's approved to be used for some conditions in up to 400mgs a day. The FDA classifies Trazodone as a tetracyclic antidepressant that is also commonly used to treat insomnia. Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, weight changes, mood swings and dry mouth. However, they may be being cautious, since you've just recently gone off the Seroquel, you may need to give it more time, before the dosage can be raised. Your problems sleeping could also be aggravated by coming off of it. Are you on any other medications?

For about 3 to 4 weeks now I have been having trouble sleeping. I wake in the middle of the night and my mind starts going and I have terrible trouble shutting back down. My mind says, "what time is it? I need to get back to sleep", "I have to work in the morning" and on and on. Consumed with the thought of sleep I sometimes fail to go back to sleep. sometimes I do but it takes 2 hours. I have had this issue since I was a child but it only manifests itself every 6 months to a year or maybe even less. But lately its been, like I said, a couple of months with this. So I became desperate for relief. I went to my GP and she prescribed citalopram. Her diagnosis was anxiety. I suppose waking in the middle of the night and having a racing mind is a sort of anxiety thing. Unders...

My son has been taking 20 mg citalopram for a few years and started with anxiety and depression issues a week ago and the doctor added 10 mg to add to his 20 on Tuesday. He seemed fine and on Saturday he said that he felt weird. I don't know whether to stop it and if so how do you stop the 10 mg? Please advise. ## Hello, Joan! How is your son doing? He might be experiencing side effects, which would be normal, if his dose has been raised. What types of symptoms is he experiencing? The FDA classifies this medication as an SSRI and its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, mood swings and weight gain.

I've read all the previous comments, and do have most of the symtoms. or side effects, Does anyone changed medications from lexam (20mgs) to something else? if so what? Lexam seems to work for me but I don't like the side effects, what else can I take? ## Hello, Paula! How are you? The FDA lists Lexam as containing the active ingredient Escitalopram, it is an SSRI class antidepressant. Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, mood swings, headache, weight changes and dry mouth. How log have you been taking it? Most side effects are transient and will go away, once your body gets used to the medication, though that may take about 4 to 6 weeks. I have been prescribed Wellbutrin XL 150mg/day for depression in addition to Lexapro (that I have been on for over 15 years 20mg). I feel kind of out of it, and I don't like it. I have been taking this for 6 days. Had a horrible headache the fist couple of days, but that seems to be subsiding. I have a bad taste in my mouth, but am starving. Will the "medicine head" like feeling go away soon? Or is this what I am supposed to be feeling? My mood is a lot calmer, brighter, however I feel lazy, and hard to wake up in the morning. ## Hello, Twinkies2013! How are you feeling? Yes, that is fairly typical when you first start such a medication. Things usually improve after about 4 to 6 weeks, once your body gets used to the medication. The FDA lists its typical side effects as poss...

Recently tested positive for methamphetamine and have never taken it in my life. I take keppa 500mg 2 times per day and celexa 40 mg 1 time per day. I do drink NOS energy drinks occasionally and I smoke menthol cigarettes. Could this have caused some kind of reaction to make the test false positive for methamphetamine?

I have suffered from anxiety/depression prob my whole life. I just dealt with it as i did not know much about mental health. I just thought it was life. of course that was not good because its easy to deal when in high school because few to no real responsibilities. Very scary to go to a crowed campus for college with anxiety/depression then you stop going and your parents and peers think its just you and it gets worse etc… I have tried many antidepressants and none have worked or gave me even a feeling of something different except some zombie effects. i just stuck to the typical narcotic medication xanax and adderall. xanax was to help the physical symptoms of my anxiety ex. stiff muscles, just stiff everything, and adderall for the can't think, fatigue etc.. but those medica...

What do you need to take to get off methamphetamines? ## According to my research, because the damage done by meth addiction happens in many areas, treatment is broad and includes immediate detox and subsequent care. The emotion, physical, and social problems meth causes all have to be addressed before sobriety can be maintained. "Meth addiction can be treated. Although acute withdrawal can be completed in a week without the drug, long term withdrawal symptoms will persist. Medical treatment can help with depression and coping skills. The risk for addicts is that they will think one round of withdrawal and suffering has somehow made them less likely to slide back into full blown addiction. This is not the case. It has been shown that the changes meth makes in the brain can take up t...

I'm in Southern Oregon and need to find another Dr that will prescribe what I need. I have all the documentation necessary. Please please help this woman who wants to keep being a good citizen and mother to grown kids.
