I have a pill, oval in shape, yellow or light tan color, with ucb 500 stamped on it. ## The pill in description is a brand of the generic Levetiracetam (500 mg), called Keppra. why would the dr perscribe levetiraceta? She also has depression ## Levetiracetam does have some nootropic affects, however, it hasn't actually been studied for use in Alzhemiers, or depression and other mental issues, yet. Severe diabetic neurology pain in both legs. Leg cramps, restricted ability to walk and stand. ## This medicine combined with lyrica has helped signifcantly. HoI wever, my gland on my left side has swollen, I do know if it is related. I had other such severe symptoms while eating. I am going to cut back on the medicine and see if my symptoms improve. ## Have you consulted your doctor? Both the Phenytoin and the Pregabalin in Lyrica are anticonvulsants that have also been shown to help with some types of nerve pain. The side effects you listed aren't typical, but it's hard to say how any medication may effect any person that uses it. Thank You! ## what is this med for? ## Gabapentin was originally developed for the treatment of epilepsy, and currently, gabapentin is widely used to relieve pain, especially neuropathic pain. ## Roy, I take Gabapentin 600mg for some nerve in my left foot. By itself it hardly works. But I take it with another pain releiver it works just fine. I also take hydrocodone 5/500 mg. Now if I take any one of these alone they just don't seem to work on my foot.But together, I do have some relief. Thanks for the information. ## GABATENTIN, USED FOR? SIDE EFFECTS?

Losing faith in my Psychiatrist. Only solution seems to be new or increased meds. Rapid Cycling Bipolar and Anxiety are not controlled after trying > 2 dozen RXs and many combos & dosages since dx (6yrs). Daily Regimen in mg: 2k fish oil, highest EPA/DHA I can find; 750 in am+900 in pm LiCO3; 5k Vit D; Multi Vitamin; 200 in am Lamotrigine; 1mg Requip @ bed (R.L.S.); 300 in pm Seroquel XR. Can't go any higher on Seroquel it puts me so deep to sleep I can't wake up before 9am even when I take it at 7pm and bed down at 9pm, and I'm groggy at least till 11am. Even at 300mg, I have to get asleep by 2 hrs post-dose or I get all weak (can't walk) and nausea. It won't wake me up though. Have tried with and without the Requip, noting no difference. Is there valproic acid, divalproex sodium or phenytoin in clonazepam or lamotrigine, Tegretol, dilantin or phenobarbital ? Thank you for answer ## There is in the Phenytoin in the DIlantin, that's the active ingredient in it. The Tegretol contains the active ingredient Carbamazepine, it's an anticonvulsant. However, the others you listed, Clonazepam, Lamotrigine and Phenobarbital are all generics, so those are the active ingredients. Do you have a problem with the other medications?

help. 47 yr old male cant walk, feet, arm, leg hand numb tingling tremors. constant burning pain, pain mgmnt stinks, two neurologists stink. told bone spurs on spine, been on every med. loss cause and im desperate. he cant get disability or nothing....any feedback please ## Is this person still under a doctor's care? What types of medications have been tried? I was diagnosed with TN a month ago and the pain is unbearable .When it first happened I thought i had a bad tooth but more in the jaw then the tooth and the it went more to my face then forehead this freaked me out so I called the hospital and they told me to come in and they ended up keeping me for 4 days. Then the cycle began, they gave me pain medication and gabapentin and sent me home. Well every 3 or 4 days the pain would flair WAY up and I would end up in the ER where they would give me a IV injection on dilaudid and the pain would come way down from a 10+ to a 1 or 2,This same dilaudid in oral form does not seem to do any thing for the pain. My Dr has tried other pain meds but nothing oral will touch the pain when it flairs . I have taken 6 - 2mg tabs at one time and felt nothin...

Just a question, I have Lumbar and Throic Spondolysis, and fracture in the some of the disc areas, we are not going to operate and the pain stays just gets more intense as time goes on. I have been on Vico 10/325 3 times a day and Neurtion 3 times a day, this helps but does not give me total comfort. Should I look for comfort? and is there a better combination I can tell my Dr at the pain center. Just wondering If anybody had a better suggestion. ## If this combination is working for you, for the most part, then you may want to talk to your doctor about adjusting one of them. My prescription says take 3 capsules by mouth daily as needed for nerve pain. Should I take all three at once or space them out thru the day? This is for peripheral neuropathy due to chemo treatments for cancer in bones & liver. Also should I take vicodin with this medication ## Have you asked your doctor or pharmacist? Gabapentin is an anticonvulsant, that has also been shown to help with nerve pain, however, it is normally given as 3 daily divided doses, but you should check with your doctor or pharmacist to be certain. After a strong diarrhoea and a severe fall in potassium and sodium level the patient had a few seizures. The patient was treated in a hospital in Jan. 2010 and was advised to take encorate along with various other medicines. At that time she didn't have any remarkable physical problems. But subsequently some sort of trembling has appeared and day by day the patient seems to become depressed. All the clinical tests done for the follow-up of the treatment however seems to be normal and what more is that the concerned doctors never advise any EEG. As lay persons we are really puzzled and in doubt whether the patient is going through the proper treatment. need to see pictures of pill ## I'm sorry, but due to copyright reasons, I don't have any pictures to post for you. In addition, since this is a generic, there are quite a few on the market, manufactured by different companies and they will all have different markings to denote the manufacturer and dosage. Just to give you some examples, here are the markings and descriptions of a few of the 100mg Gabapentin products: A white capsule, with the marking G 5026. An orange and white capsule, with the marking R 665 on each half. A white capsule with the marking APO 112. A gray capsule with West-ward 991. A white and clear capsule with E 91 on each half. And there are more.... Are there any markings on the pill in question?

if you have had seizuries and taking dylatin can you take gabapentin for chronic pain ## Caution is advised regarding using the Gabapentin with the Phenytoin in Dilantin, because it can increase the level of central nervous system depression and psychomotor impairment that they both can cause. Has your doctor instructed you to use them both? If so, they should be monitoring you closely and they have to take the dosage of both under careful consideration.

i have head injury m taking encorate crono 500mg for more than 1 year. what actually is its function and does it have any side effects except acidity? ## Encorate Crono contains the active ingredient Divalproex Sodium, it is most commonly used to help prevent seizures caused by Epilepsy or brain injury. The likelihood of your experiencing many more side effects, after having been on it for a year, is pretty low, unless you had to go to a higher dosage.
