My boyfriend just got a new job and he's taking keppra. After work he drinks 2 half pints and stops @ 12am He then goes to work @ 9 am and they are telling him he smells like alcohol. Could his meds be being out what he had the night before.,? ## What is your boyfriend drinking? 2 pints of some kind of alcohol with the Keppra? The smelling like alcohol isn't the issue here! He is not going to wake up to go to work some morning! It's not only drinking that much, but drinking at all with medication is like playing Russian Roulette. It can very likely kill him. I have been taking neurontin without a prescription and Im also on ua's for probation. my po recently asked me about it and i told her that i wasn't. she told me they were going to run a few more "extensive tests" to see what showed up in my ua's but that it would take 10-14 days. is this possible? or is she just freaking my out? HELP!! ## Did they ever find anything out with the extensive gabapentin testing??? I'm in dire straights as well and my po is going to send the test results in for extensive testing too so yeh... Hello, I was tentatively diagnosed 6 weeks ago with partial simple seizures ( a weird feeling in abdomen that 'whooshes' it's way up to my head) and put on 1000 Keppra daily (500 twice a day.) Dr upped dose to 1500 daily. My question- can I take a 500 pill every 8 hours (6am-2pm-10pm) instead of 750 every 12 hours? The larger dose wipes me out. I can't afford insurance under Obamacare, and I lost my Medicaid last December because the governor vetoed it's expansion. I've been taking Dilantin since 1967. When generics came out, my doctor warned me not to switch from the brand name Dilantin to the generic. I have not had a seizure since 1988 and my doctor always said if I switch to the much cheaper generic, there's a possibility it may not be as effective and the seizures could return. He told me this several times, the last time about 7 - 8 years ago. Last fall when I told him i was losing Medicaid, he suggested I switch to the generic. just been perscribed the drug and i'm a bit concerned reading all the side effects ## Have been using it for several years to prevent migraines. I have been on 25mg Lamictal for three days. I have had terrible stomach pain and severe diarrhea for three days. Has anyone else experienced this? Do the side-effects go away? I need help in dealing with the anxiety and depression that comes with Keppra. I would like to know how others have dealt with it. ## Okay that was simple, let me add some detail. I used to be on lamotrigene (lamictal generic) and I was fine. I was happy. Normal. I'm normally a happy person. Keppra has recently been messing with my memory. I've been on Gabapentin for three weeks. The unsteadiness has improved somewhat but the vision has me worried. My sight clears up about an hour or so before the next dose. It's not an alarming loss of vision, just a fuzziness that's bothersome when I read. I live with my sister and her 5 year old son who is like my own. I have been with him since he was 1. She was seeing a therapist that I will call John. One would listen to her and the other would prescribe the meds. Anyway they all of a sudden put her on 200 MG's of LTD. This was over two years ago. It has been a strange ride since then. I'll try and keep it short but let's just say that we figured out what the problem was. She goes through a viscous cycle every month.
