What's the best way to begin weaning off vimpat? Taking 50 mg once a day and it is kicking my ass to take half a pill every day so I go back on the medication. I'm depressed, feel very sick to my stomach, nausea, and overall lousy. Those symptoms are tolerable when I'm on the medication but still present. Worst medication ever. Was prescribed because keppra symptoms were worse. ## Hello, Jack! How are you? The FDA lists Vimpat as being used to treat partial seizures in people with epilepsy. If that's what you're taking it for, it's very important that you not stop, without consulting your doctor and replacing it with some other medication. It can cause those side effects, along with weight gain, dizziness and dry mouth. How long have you been taking it? Most side...

If he was having them, they can be dangerous and it is normal for a medication to be given daily to help prevent them from happening, again. In addition, all medications carry the risk of causing side effects. Many people with Epilepsy or other seizure disorders take these types of ...

Help please? ## The imprint is c 22 and there small white round pills, c on one side 22 on the other ## Hello, Misty! How are you? Are you sure it's a C? Is it possibly an E? Can you please double check and post back? There is a round, white tablet with an E on one side and 22 on the other that's manufactured by Aurobindo Pharmac, which they list as containing 25mgs of Topiramate. The FDA classifies this medication as an anticonvulsant that is also used to treat/prevent migraines and for weight loss. Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, weight loss, menstrual changes and memory loss. ## I'm positive it's a c on one side an...

What does the sod stand for on phenytoin sod ext its a 100 mg purple and white capsule ## Why is it becoming more difficult to find xanax on The streets? ## What does SOD DR EC mean on the Diclofenac bottle? ## The SOD stands for Sodium, it designates the specific chemical salt that the medication is derived from, that's why some list sodium, some list hydrochloride and etc. As to the DR on a prescription, just like XR, SR, ER and quite a few others, it designates that medication as being time released. As to the EC, from what I've found, it's used similar to ES, DS and etc. to designate that as being an extra strength dosage, rather than the standard prescribed amount. Are there any other questions or comments? ## My perscription bottle says. Metformin 500mg Tab.**RDS WHAT ...
Please advise if Vimpat is better than Levetiraceta for mild seizures post Chemotherapy? ## Hello, Malasalle! How are you? It isn't that either is better than the other. Both are approved medications that have been proven to be effective. It's really a matter of trying one and seeing which works better for you. The FDA lists the possible side effects as being very similar between the two and you may experience nausea, dizziness, mood swings, headache and weight changes. For instance, the first one my fiancé tried caused a bad change in personality, so they had to immediately switch him to a different one and it's worked great, with little side effects and no seizures for months. It can vary from person to person, so there's no way anyone can say which would be best ...
I have been taking phenytoin for 15 years for seizures due to abnormal vessel between speech and memory part of my brain. I fill my meds at Wal-Mart. Here lately they switched me to phenytoin made by a different company and it has me all messed up.I was taking a brand made by a company AMN. Now they switched to a company called Mylan. I am tired of this.Once they gave me phenytoin that was orange color. Talk about being on edge, I was. What is the difference in one company and the other? Now I feel like I am going to have a seizure. I feel totally different.I am scared and don't like feeling weird. ## Hello, Francis! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. There can be slight fluctuations between one generic medication and another, they are allowed to di...
I have been taking 300 mg of Gabapentin for the past eight months and I now have a very bad buzzing in my head. It has been getting worse in the past couple of months. I quit taking the drug for five days but it didn't seem to matter. ## Hello, Bordy! How are you? Tinnitus has been reported as a possible side effect of Gabapentin, as listed by the FDA, along with nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, good swings and weight changes. Have you consulted your doctor? You may need to switch to a different medication to see if it goes away. They may also want to evaluate your hearing, to see if the problem is due to the medication or something else. Is this the only medication that you take? ## This is my only medication. Thank you for the response.
I was just put on the gabapentin 100mg 3x daily for severe leg and hip pain. I also take tylenyol with codeine at night. Do the side effects wear off of drowsiness/dizziness? My pain comes from spinal stenosis of the lumbar, and osteoarthritis. I am hoping this will will be a long term fix as nothing else has been. I am still in need of working and have not been able to due to all my ailments. ## Hello, Debra! How are you? Yes, such side effects are usually transient and should taper off, eventually going away entirely, once your body gets used to the medication. However, if your dosage is raised in the future, you should expect to experience them again for a few weeks. You may also experience dizziness, dry mouth, weight changes and mood swings, as listed by the FDA among its common si...
It was around about 10 yrs ago .... used for pain ....ppl could take them to keep from going into withdrawal....it got banned for causing heart problems....i can't think of the name of them....they were abused and kinda made u feel like when u take neurontin ## Hello, Nicky! How are you? I think you may be talking about Darvocet, which contained Acetaminophen and Propoxyphene. It was a very mild narcotic and yes, it was pulled from the market due to the risk of cardiac dangers. The FDA listed it as possibly being habit forming and it could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation. Does the sound correct?
I take lamictal 300 lithium 900 and viibryd 10 I have a lot of pressure in my head and bad diaherra. I combine words when I talk or leave words out. I get anxiety when talking to people like I can talk fast enough. Any suggestions?? Been on 5 days. First night I took I went into crying spell for 3 hours... ## Hello, Dana! How are you feeling? Lithium is a very potent medication, so it has been known to cause such side effects. You may also experience dizziness, drowsiness, headache and weight changes, as listed by the FDA. However, things should improve after your body adjusts to the medications, but that could take about 4 to 6 weeks. However, if they don't improve, or if things get worse and you feel suicidal, please contact your doctor immediately. Is there anything else I can he...
I was on Topamax years ago under a doctor that is no longer practicing. I lost a great amount of weight. I am wanting to get back on it but don't know of a doctor that prescribes it for weight loss in the Dallas area. Does anybody know one? ## Hello, Stephanie! How are you? Any doctor can prescribe it, there aren't any special "Topamax doctors" that you have to see. Do you currently have a PCP that you see regularly? If so, you could discuss it with them to see if they will prescribe it, or refer you to someone that will help. Topamax is classified by the FDA as being an antiseizure medication that is also approved to prevent migraines. It wasn't originally intended to be used for weight loss, that turned out to be an unexpected side effect that's been of great b...
Do people test for K2? The reason I ask is because while in residential treatment I learned that lamotrigine (lamictal) caused a routine false-positive for it almost immediately. Not sure if this is something that I should be wary about in pre-employment screening going forward. Idk if that stuff is legal or not, but the center I was in went crazy with accusations until I was able to pull facts from the Internet. Are there any false-positives that I should be aware of for topiramate?
Updated in LamotrigineIs the gelatin in gabapentin from bovine or porcine? ## Hello, Donna! How are you? What are the markings on the capsules in question? Without knowing who manufactures them, I cannot accurately answer your question. Can you please post back with more information? Thanks! Gabapentin is classified by the FDA as an anticonvulsant that is also approved to treat certain types of nerve pain and some mood disorders. Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, weight gain and mood swings. ## Sorry lost the patient info but it is a light yellow or tan capsule marked IP 102.
if any one eat 49 tablets of eptoin in a single time due to any mental stress than what will happen ?? ## Eptoin contains the active ingredient Phenytoin and anti-epileptic medication. If you take that many at once you run several risks, including: liver damage, kidney damage, overdose and death. Do you know someone that has done this? ## yes my cousin did this a few weeks ago and amazing fact is that nothing serious effect is seen in her till now ## I truly hope she suffers no serious and permanent ill effects. It is a fact, however, that organ damage and some other effects may no manifest themselves, until awhile after the fact. Just started Topamax this week (50mg 1X at bedtime) for migraine prevention. It's making me dizzy in a addition to side effects others have noted here like tingling fingers, low grade headache, thirst, upset stomach and mood swings. I've searched but I haven't been able to find any references to "dizziness". Has anyone else had this? My migraines leave me dizzy for days/weeks which is why my doctor decided to try me on Topamax. I don't need any ADDITIONAL issues with balance!! Probably just "my brain" but it would be nice to know if anyone else has this with migraines. ## Side effects are from the topomax. Let your dr. Know you may need to lower your dose or wean off of of them. They are known for many sie effects, numbness forgething things. Slurred spea...
Gabapentin 300 capsules do they contain a corn or soy fillers or binders ## Hi Brenda, Because there are a number of manufacturers who produce this drug (e.g. Actavis, Pfizer, Teva, etc), you would need to provide us with the exact imprint on the capsule in order to determine if "your specific capsule" of Gabapentin contains such ingredients. Just at a glance, I did see that both Actavis and Pfizer's 300mg Gabapentin lists corn starch as the second inactive ingredient used in its composition, but nothing in particular that mentioned soy. I hope this helps!
