I also tingle on my scalp and my face. And when I get hot it feels like the front of my neck gets really tight. Not quite the same tingly feeling, but similiar. I talked to the neuro about it and he said it wasn't a side effect if the topomax that it must be anxiety. Has anyone else experienced this? And if it's anxiety whh would it only happen when I'm hot and why did it start the same time as the other symptoms. ## Hello, Kimberly! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. I really can't explain why it's happening this way, but if it is due to anxiety, that could be caused by the Topamax, it has been known to cause anxiety, depressio...
My Australian Shepherd takes this for seizure disorder. He has been prescribed 1 capsule 3 times per day. Because of my work schedule, it's very difficult to dispense 3 times. I know that is optimal, but can I give him one in the morning and 2 at night? ## Unfortunately, no. That's not going to work the same way. The reason it's given spaced over the day is to try to keep a constant level of the medication in his system to prevent the seizures. Do you have a friend or neighbor that may be able to help? ## Hi I was wondering if it works well? And I wanted to know because my husky is doing seizures and I wanted to give her gabapentin but I don't know the disage? how much Does your dog weigh? Thank you

Could you tell me all of the ingredients, including all supplements, that are found in the medication known as Neurontin. I had a terrible reaction to Neurontin 8 years ago, when I was prescribed Neurontin for muscle spasms that I suffered in my legs, from a back Injury. I now have neuropathy from that back injury and nerve damage. I am interested in trying Nerve Renew, and another supplement, but I want to make sure there are no ingredients found in the products that are found in Neurontin? I do not want to end up in the hospital again. ## Hi Ron, Neurontin is actually the generic name for Gabapentin. The only other types of ingredients outside of this are binders/fillers that vary depending upon which manufacturer's version you're taking. If you happen to have a Neurontin tabl...

what type of drugn is it and can it make you high? ## Hello, Monique! How are you? This capsule contains 300mgs of Gabapentin, which is an anticonvulsant that's also used to treat some mood disorders and certain types of nerve pain, so no, it will not get anyone high. Its normal side effects may include nausea, dizziness, weight changes and mood swings. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Gabapentin is the generic name for Neurontin which originally was a treatment for convulsions but was also found to be a treatment for nerve pain. I take this drug for nerve pain..it will make you sleepy when you first start taking it, but no, it will not make you feel high. Not like taking a narcotic pain reliever such as hydrocodone or oxycodone. This is not a narcotic pain reliever.
My prescription drug was changed from phenytoin with the purple band to phenytoin plain white with the number 420 printed twice on the capsule; I was told it was fine to take same formula and different manufacturer but when I asked if the fillers were the same the pharmacist stumbled and then said it is ok. Since the medicine was changed without my knowledge or permission by somebody (nobody in the Dr.s office knows how this happened) I am wondering about it. Of course I will ask the doctor again ( I spoke to the nurse before) when I see him - he doesn't take phone calls), but I would like to know something before then. ## Well, first no pharmacy is in any way obligated to always provide you with the product manufactured by any particular company that you have been getting. It is co...
Had neck surgery. but it didn't help with my legs and feet. They are numb, feels like they are asleep, my hands also are numb and feel like sandpaper. Do you think Gabapetin 100mg 3 times a day will help with these affects. ## Gabapentin is an anticonvulsant that has also been proven effective at helping with certain types of nerve pain. Learn more Gabapentin details here. Some people get very good results from it and some don't. The only way to see if it will help you is to try it and see. You should not, however, expect it to work immediately like regular analgesics would, since that's not what it is, so it doesn't have any effect that fast. It can take 4 to 6 weeks for this medication to reach its full efficacy level in the body and you discover whether or not it work...
The Dr. Thought this would help with my nerve pain and anxiety I have been taking it for 3 weeks and have gained 6 pounds and it has affected my legg strength and how much I can walk should I quit taking it. I am a 68 year old woman. ## Hi Bev, Sorry to hear about the Gabapentin not working as intented. But I wouldn't stop taking it without talking to your doctor first. According to NIH.gov, if you were to suddenly stop taking it, you may experience withdrawal symptoms (such as anxiety, insomnia, pain, nausea, sweating, etc.) as a result of not tapering. For these reasons it's probably best to work with your doctor on gradually decreasing the dose over an allotted period of time (NIH recommends at least a week). I hope this helps! ## David thank you for your input but I already ...
I recently came from India. I am taking the drug tablet "Gabantin 300mg" from last 2 years and now I was moved to USA. And I am searching for this tablet here. Also I have checked in one of the pharmacies, seems it's not available. And also they need a USA Doctor's prescription and not an India one. Someone guide me on how to obtain this tablet. ## Hello, John! How are you? Yes, to obtain this medication in the U.S., you'll need to see a U.S. doctor and get a prescription. There is no other way to get it here. The FDA classifies Gabapentin as an anticonvulsant that is also used to treat certain types of nerve pain. Its typical side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and weight gain. Is there anything else I can help with?
is there a gabapentin or nurotin with the imprint 1 3 on it? ## Hi Kathy, Based on my research, there is a white and oval 800 mg Gabapentin with the imprint G 13 on it. There is a score between the G and the 13. Gabapentin was originally developed for the treatment of epilepsy, and is currently widely used to relieve neuropathic pain. Gabapentin's most common side effects in adult patients include dizziness, drowsiness, and peripheral edema (swelling of extremities); these mainly occur at higher doses, in the elderly. Learn More: Gabapentin Details If you have any more questions or concerns, please post back and I will be happy to help you. ## I have an oval pill with a 1 then a score mark, and then a 3 on one side and it only has a score on the other side.I cant find it anywhere...I...
My bro had a tumor removed in 2009. He was prescribed Keppra. 500 mg bid prophalactily to prevent seizure. Fast forward to august of this year 2014 When after a brain scan. A tumor showed he was treated with radiation. Which made him very sick.myaremts came to fl to take care of him.last week someone noticed that his Keppra bottle said 1000 bid. My brother being sick and unaware increased the doss all at once since then his mobility has gone down and has become urinary incontinent. Went from cane to walker to unable to go. Could this be from the sudden increase of Keppra. His dose was in fact doubled all at once. Since I discovered this in speaking with him he said it was always 500 bid and his me over the years said if it works stay with it. If this is the problem how we get him back d...

Since I started taking Topamax a few weeks ago, I feel great but also manic which is dangerous for me. Anyone else experiencing mania while on Topamax? ## Hello, Lisa! How are you? It is actually well known that most of the anti consultant medications, such as this one, can cause mental health issues in some people that take them, even going as far as resulting in a total personality change. Have you spoken to your doctor? You will most likely need to switch to a different medication. Other side effects, as listed by the FDA, may include nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and weight gain.
Hey all, I'm very new to taking topamax and wondered how long it'd be until I'd notice a weight loss? Any answer would be appreciated. ## Hello, MomV7! How are you? Since this isn't actually a straight weight loss medication, which means that weight loss is just a side effect, it may take about 4 to 6 weeks for you to start seeing a difference, if it works for you. Typical side effects of this medication, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include nausea, dizziness, diarrhea, indigestion and rapid back and forth eye movements. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I was wondering the same thing. 4 years ago I weighed between 110-120 lbs at 5'3, but then while working as a nurse I was attacked by a patient. Over the past 4 years I've had 7 surgeries and gaine...
I don't take neurontin and have never taken it. I have been on methadone for 8 years and have been taking urine drug screens the entire time. This past month my screen showed that I had taken neurontin, as I stated I don't take it. I take over the counter medicine for acid reflux and a sleep aid which is just benadryl. Does anyone have any ideas what would cause this to show up in my test? I have lost some of my privileges due to this showing up. Please help!!! ## The over the counter sleep aid that is benadryl shows up as a benzo. I'm I guess pretty much in the same program and have been for 3 years this month. I've been dealing with the same since January this year if you take any king of benadryl or over the counter nighttime sleep aid it will cause you to fail the on...
dias365t again, With regard to Eptoin 100mg, I have now further found out from certain people, that Eptoin100 can also have side effects such as numbness in toes, and fingers too, when used for v.long periods.Yet, this drug becomes one of the best drugs to control Epilepsy. So if you feel these symptoms, please contact your Doctor soon, inform him, & he will definitely find you an alternative.Furthremore, thinning of fingers too have also been recorded, yet is it Eptoin only that should be blamed? is still a Question.Wish you all quick recovery.God bless you all. ## I took eptoin 100mg (twice for 3 years) and now taking 100mg once at night. Does eptoin causes hair fall? And what all are the side effects?
I am to start my withdrawal from 2700mg of neurontin this week. I take three 300mg at morning, noon, and dinner. I had tried to go off it myself a few time, but guess I tried to do it too quickly, the pain was terrible. I have been on it for about five years for chronic pain and it doesn't work. I will go down one pill (300) every three weeks or so. I hope this will be slow enough to prevent withdrawal symptoms. Any thought on this would be appreciated. ## Hi, Wanda! How are things going? One warning I'd like to give you is that you do need to do this very slowly and carefully. Since Neurontin is actually an anticonvulsant, a rapid, sudden withdrawal actually creates the risk of suffering seizures. You've already experienced the rebound pain that can happen from doing it too...
