I have been using Cefadroxil as treatment for a staph infection in my hip replacement joint for a year. Is this medication dangerous for my body? Previously, I've had a 6-week course of Cefazolin administered through a PICC line. I am trying to understand the potential dangers this could pose to my health. ## The risks caused by the infection are far greater than any risk associated with the antibiotics used to combat it, severe out of control infections can be deadly. Can insomnia/trouble sleeping be caused from taking clindamycin (oral capsules 300 mg QID)? It's not like anxiety, more of a too amped up feeling like having too much caffeine only it doesn't subside, it's been 3 days now and I've gotten 3 hours of restless sleep each night, idk if I'll function today as I've gotten mere minutes of "sleep" ## Hello, Mogipi! I have been on this medication for three days and I am experiencing the worst stomach pains. Has anyone else ever experience this? ## Stomach cramps is a side effect of this RX but its a less common side effect. I have a few stomach cramps but I find that it goes away if you snack on something before and right after you take it. It works for me when I have cramps. You may want to try it. =) ## Yes, you should definitely try to avoid taking this on an empty stomach, like Kristina suggested. I take some Alaxan FR and Amoxicillin when I am at my first weeks of pregnancy, is there any effect for my baby? 3 days on a sulfur drug and I can't sleep and have difficulty urinating since taking it. I quit after 5 days, but it is still hard to sleep and I still have a problem urinating which were both ok before taking this drug. It was prescribed to cure a sore beneath my nose caused by pneumonia and excessive nose blowing, which was cured by a prescription ointment. ## What medication was it? I am going in for a uterus treatment and the doctor had me take a urine culture 7 days prior. Twice, the culture came back as positive and the doctor postponed the uterus treatment. I had no symptoms of the UTI. He then prescribed Nitrofurantoin 100mg once a day for a month prior to the next appointment for the procedure. Is this the right antibiotic for my situation? I recently found out I was pregnant. Just before I found out, I had a UTI and took Macrobid. I had a blood test at the Dr.'s office soon after I finished the prescription and my HCG levels were very high. Three days later, they were normal again, and ultrasound shows a heartbeat and everything in the right place--not ectopic. I am trying to come up with an explanation for the initial elevated HCG. My thyroid is fine. Could the Macrobid have caused the initial elevation? ## Given that you are pregnant, it is most likely that they just happened to test at the same time your body was producing a high amount of it due to pregnancy hormones, that is normal. I got this in Mexico last week for a bladder infection. Is this just for the pain of a bladder infection? Recently I have taken Clarithromyacin as part of a two week treatment along with Amoxicillian and Lanzoprazole to try to cure H Pylori. I also take Phenobarbitone and Phenytoin to control my Epilepsy which has been successful for over 37 years. I have heard that the combination of bactrim and methadone can throw you into withdrawals. I have mrsa and staph but cannot do withdrawals. I am living in China so I always like to check things out ASAP when ever I have to see a doctor here. Anyhow my daughter, who is almost 18 months had a fall today and broke her collar bone. X-ray showed a nice clean break no problem so he recommended a brace which I expected but for some reason he also prescribed Cefureoxime Axetil 125mg.
