White Oblong Pill M Ao

This was prescribed for our dog. He has had hip surgery as well as treating eye infections. He's a Westie and has lots of health issues. I found these in a baggie with his name on it.

Hello Pepper,

I believe what you have there is a Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (also known as a MAO-I) which was previously the commonly used drug for use in dogs for the treatment of canine cognitive dysfunction and pituitary-dependent Cushing’s disease. This drug is FDA approved but not regularly used anymore due to the discovery that it has adverse effects with multiple common dog foods and other various drugs given to dogs.

I'm not sure if your dog has any of the above listed diseased but this is what the drug was intended to be used for. It may be that they were given in conjunction with other medication to treat something your Wetsie had at the time.

Without knowing the exact brand or manufacturer this is the only generic information I can give you on the drug so I hope this information helps. I think it reads AOM, not MAO. Maybe amoxicillin.
