I am alergic to some other antibiotics and tried Septra and that gave me rashes. So I am kind of stuck with Doxy. A few months after I started taking Doxy I started developing what I thought at the time was general anxiety disorder as I would develop chest tightness/pressure and general nervousness which in turn would make it extremely difficult to concentrate at work and hard to hold up conversations with people. Sure I have some anxiety over bills, work, life, but nothing that I obsessively worry about. However, thinking my issue was anxiety I started taking anti-anxiety meds (BuSpar and Ativan) - I got off the Ativan about 3 weeks ago as ...

Haverecurringmrsastaphinfection, whataretreatmentoptions? ## Because MRSA infections can be so severe, treatment for MRSA skin infections may not only include having a healthcare professional drain the infection and prescribe an antibiotic, but also may include surgical or antimicrobial interventions. Do not attempt to treat an MRSA skin infection by yourself; doing so could worsen or spread it to others. This includes popping, draining, or using disinfectants on the area. If you think you might have an infection, cover the affected skin, wash your hands, and contact your healthcare provider. I would high recommend checking out the link below for more details on this: cdc.gov/mrsa/treatment My aunt had a severe MRSA infection and had to remain in the hospital for almost a week before the...
I was recently treated for a yeast infection at the ER nd two weeks later I went for a follow up with my Dr , I was told I have a uti however I have bk symptoms. I was prescribed sulfameth/trimethoprim 800/160 , I'm on day 5 nd I've noticed a white milky discharge. Is this normal???? ## "NO SYMPTOMS" ## A white, milky discharge would be more indicative of a yeast infection. You may have had one to begin with, been treated for it and got rid of it, then you may have gotten another one from the antibiotic for the UTI, it's almost a vicious cycle. Have you consulted your doctor again, yet?

Pill imprint H 49 has been identified as Sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim 800 mg / 160 mg, is this the same as the pill IP 272? I ask because I have been using the IP 272 pill for 7 years, and my pharmacy just filled it with the H 49 version. Same strength? same drug? Please advise ## Yes, they both contain the same medications in the same dosages. It is completely normal for your pharmacy to switch which manufacturers product they have on hand, depending on who was offering the cheapest price, at the time they needed to restock their supply. Generic Biaxin (Clarithromycin) is an antibiotic prescribed to treat/prevent a wide variety of bacterial infections, which include strep throat, sinusitis, tonsillitis, ear infections, lung infections, as well as skin infections such as impetigo. This medication works by stopping the growth of bacteria. You can read more about it here: medlineplus.gov/druginfo/meds/a692005.html
Updated in BiaxinMy mother has an abscess tooth and there is not enough left to pull. She does not have insurance so she can not pay to get it cut out. She is prescribed an antibiotic but cannot afford it. I had an infection a few weeks ago and still have some of my antibiotics left and i need to know if she can take them for this. ## Having 'some' of your antibiotics isn't going to be enough to give her a full course and destroy the infection. (You should have finished all of them, when you were taking them, actually.) In addition, even a full course of antibiotics is not going to solve the problem, with a tooth in that shape, she will just keep getting recurring infections and letting a dental infection like that go untreated can be very dangerous. What I'd recommend is looking for a d...
I have gastritis but no h pylori. Is it okay to use Pylori kit even if you do not have H Pylori? ## It is really not recommended, because the H. Pylori kits contains antibiotics to help get rid of the H. Pylori bacteria, so if you use them, without having an active infection, then you run the risk of developing antibiotic resistant bacteria and this could put you at serious risk in the future. It is usually best to treat gastritis with medications that specifically help to reduce the amount of acid in the stomach and allow it to heal. The most commonly used are proton pump inhibitors, you can learn more about them here: They work by shutting down some of the acid pumps in the stomach, so you produce less acid. Personally, I didn't have good luck with these and my doctor had to take ...

Have you tried this current medication regimen? Have they helped, at all? Did your doctor say what was causing the problem? Is it strictly due to a fungus? I can't find any informaiton on Rovate, do you know what the active ingredient is in it?

Hello, I used a purple and cyan antibitoic for an ear infection. It was given to me multiple times, and it is not helping my ear problems. I am now wondering what it was because i plan on going to the doctor for my ear problems. It is not GREEN, like the Cefdinir. Any idea as to what this might be? ## No, I'm sorry, but there is no way to know for sure what it was from just the color. However, it should be listed in your medical records, by whomever prescribed it, so your doctor should know, or they should be able to find out. Are there any other questions or comments?
My husband is wondering if HE can get a yeast infection while taking Amoxicillin/Clavulanate with potassium. Also Wonder why is there potassium in this antiobotic? ## Many antibiotics can cause yeast infections. I wouldn't go so far as to single one out over another as to my knowledge they can all be premature causes of yeast infections depending upon how each individual responds to the drug. Regarding the addition of potassium, Amoxicillin + Clavulanate Potassium is actually just a more potent version of the original Amoxicillin. I'm not completely sure how this addition effects the way the drug is absorbed, but if your husband is really concerned about a yeast infection I would strongly suggest looking into natural alternatives, such as essential oils (oregano, thyme, clove, c...
can i use macrodantin for an infection i have in my gumes ## Macrodantin contains the active ingredient Nitrofurantoin, so it is an antibiotic, but it's most commonly used to treat urinary tract infections. Have you had a doctor, or dentist confirm that it's an infection? If it is, you might require a different antibiotic to properly treat it.
Would Augmentin 500b tabs exceed thar EXP dates far if they needed to be taken in a emergancy for a sore tooth, the meds in question are 1 year over and have been stored well and are well pakaged. ## This antibiotic doesn't get dangerous past its expiration, but it does start to lose effectiveness and that creates the risk of it not working as well as it should, which may result in your developing antibiotic resistant bacteria. In such cases, it is much safer to see your doctor, so they can cofirm the presence of an infection and prescribe a new antibiotic. Are there any other comments or questions?
