Hi, I have been taking doxycycline for about a year to fight back chronic MRSA Staph infection in the femur (had several operations on leg so far). I am alergic to some other antibiotics and tried Septra and that gave me rashes. So I am kind of stuck with Doxy. A few months after I started taking Doxy I started developing what I thought at the time was general anxiety disorder as I would develop chest tightness/pressure and general nervousness which in turn would make it extremely difficult to concentrate at work and hard to hold up conversations with people. Sure I have some anxiety over bills, work, life, but nothing that I obsessively worry about. I was recently treated for a yeast infection at the ER nd two weeks later I went for a follow up with my Dr , I was told I have a uti however I have bk symptoms. I was prescribed sulfameth/trimethoprim 800/160 , I'm on day 5 nd I've noticed a white milky discharge. Is this normal???? ## "NO SYMPTOMS" ## A white, milky discharge would be more indicative of a yeast infection. You may have had one to begin with, been treated for it and got rid of it, then you may have gotten another one from the antibiotic for the UTI, it's almost a vicious cycle. Pill imprint H 49 has been identified as Sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim 800 mg / 160 mg, is this the same as the pill IP 272? I ask because I have been using the IP 272 pill for 7 years, and my pharmacy just filled it with the H 49 version. Same strength? same drug? Hello, I used a purple and cyan antibitoic for an ear infection. It was given to me multiple times, and it is not helping my ear problems. I am now wondering what it was because i plan on going to the doctor for my ear problems. It is not GREEN, like the Cefdinir. My husband is wondering if HE can get a yeast infection while taking Amoxicillin/Clavulanate with potassium. Also Wonder why is there potassium in this antiobotic? ## Many antibiotics can cause yeast infections. I wouldn't go so far as to single one out over another as to my knowledge they can all be premature causes of yeast infections depending upon how each individual responds to the drug. Regarding the addition of potassium, Amoxicillin + Clavulanate Potassium is actually just a more potent version of the original Amoxicillin. Would Augmentin 500b tabs exceed thar EXP dates far if they needed to be taken in a emergancy for a sore tooth, the meds in question are 1 year over and have been stored well and are well pakaged. ## This antibiotic doesn't get dangerous past its expiration, but it does start to lose effectiveness and that creates the risk of it not working as well as it should, which may result in your developing antibiotic resistant bacteria. In such cases, it is much safer to see your doctor, so they can cofirm the presence of an infection and prescribe a new antibiotic. Are there any other comments or questions?
