I am 12weeks pregnant and 2days ago I started having really bad tooth ache my GP said it could be some kind of infection and gave me Betamox 500mg to take. Is it safe to take this so early in my pregnancy? ## Based on my research, Betamox (amoxicillin) has been assigned to pregnancy category B by the FDA. "Animal studies using 10 times the human dose have failed to reveal any evidence of teratogenicity. Although no controlled data in human pregnancy are available, literature reports of adverse fetal effects are lacking. Amoxicillin is only recommended during pregnancy when benefit outweighs risk." For more personalized advice however, I'd still encourage you to discuss this with your doctor; who may have also gone through this with other past patients. I hope this helps!

Can an infected tatoo be treated with amoxicillin ## Hi sunny, To answer your question, Amoxicillin can be used to treat "certain" skin infections. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria. However I'd still recommend having it checked out by a doctor to make sure that you're using the most appropriate treatment option at the correct dosage and duration. found in teen's purse - blue capsule imprinted DAN 5615 ## Hi Terri, The closest match I've been able to find is a blue capsule with the imprint DAN 5440. It is Doxycycline hyclate 100 mg; which belongs to the drug classes "miscellaneous antimalarials and tetracyclines" and is used in the treatment of bacterial infection, urinary tract infection, upper respiratory tract infection, acne, periodontitis, and more. National Drug Code (NDC): 00591-5440 Since the imprint is so similar to the one on the capsule you found, I imagine they are both probably manufactured by the same company- Watson Pharmaceuticals, also known as Actavis. I've posted their contact information below if you'd like to give them a call. Global & U.S. Corporate Headquarters Morris Corporate C...

I was taken cefadrine 500mg 4 times daily. I'm currently 9 weeks pregnant. before taken the cefadrine I was feeling fine. then I got diagnosed with a UTI and and im 9 weeks pregnant. before taken the antibiotics I was taken the antibiotics and I started to feel really sick. and I have not been taken them now for a few days will they still make me feel sick. would they still be in my system? ## Hi Kelly, Do you feel any better now after having stopped the Cefradine? To my understanding, most antibiotics can take several days or more to get out of your system completely, depending on how much and how long you've been taking it for. Other factors that can effect a drug's excretion rate are your metabolism, age, weight, diet, overall health, etc. If you have to continue taking s...

Is there any difference between this and Amoxicillin for my dog? ## Hi Alexis, Based on my research, Amoxicillin is an antibiotic just like Doxycycline Hyclate, however the dosage for your dog could be very different and should be based on his/her body weight. I have read that Doxycycline is harsher on the gastrointestinal tract than Amoxicillin, so that is something to take into consideration. Is there any difference between this and Amoxicillin for my dog? ## Although both medications have similar indications with regards to the variety of infections they treat, they are still two different types of antibiotics with different chemical structures, side effects, dosages, potency, absorption rates, etc; which all play a significant role in how well your dog may react and respond to each medication. So to answer your question, I wouldn't consider them equal for canines or humans. Doxycycline is in a class of medications called tetracycline antibiotics. Amoxicillin is in a class of medications called penicillin-like antibiotics. You can learn more about these drugs on the page for Doxycycline Details and Amoxicillin Details I hope this info helps!

I have a bladder infection that makes my urinating urgent and sometimes uncontrollable. I was given a prescription for smz-tmp to treat it. Like an idiot I started the prescription but never finished it because I was also given amoxicillin to treat an infection in my tooth then panicked cause I was taking both of them at once and I was scared of overdoing it. Now months later I'm having some serious lower back pain and I'm considering finishing both prescriptions in hopes to make a full regimen. Will this work or just cause more problems ## Hi Shaylee, I'm sorry to hear about that, bladder infections are no fun! Seeing as both the medications you mentioned are antibiotics, I'm not sure how that would help with your back pain. I imagine it might cause more problems since ...

I have a bad rash on my penis very itchy. Could Pinaclav be the cause? ## To answer your question, yes, I do believe that Pinaclav could be the cause of that itching. Ampicilin ## flu like symptons....cough, eyes water, etc. can this drug be used and how often....ampicilina 500mg capsulas ## Ambidrin contains the antibiotic Ampicillin, which is only effective against bacterial infections. Thus, it will not help with cold or flu, nor the symptoms these illnesses cause, because they are caused by viruses. You can learn more Ambidrin details here. Additionally, using it inappropriately could result in your developing antibiotic resistant bacteria and that can be very dangerous. So, for anyone else looking, please only use antibiotics when your doctor or dentist has specifically prescribed them to treat an infection of some type. Are there any other questions or comments?

I have a bitter taste in my mouth, I have been taking this med for 4 days, is this a side effect? I wake up in the night and have such a bitter taste, I brush my teeth, gargle with listerine, but nothing helps. Food doesn't taste right. I have 3 more days, should I continue? ## Ironically enough, "change in taste" is listed word for word as a general side effect of Clarithromycin. I think if it becomes too bothersome or severe, you may want to consider talking to your doctor about any other alternative antibiotics that can replace Clarithromycin for the remaining 3 days. It's likely that it may not go away until you stop taking what's causing it to begin with. You can learn more about this drug on the page for Clarithromycin Details I hope this info helps!

what does p eye mean? this is an antibiotic ## I have never seen that on a prescription before. Was it for some type of infection related to the eye? It's possible that it was just meant to refer to why you are supposed to take it, some doctors do that, when they write prescriptions. It is also possible that your doctor wrote something else and the pharmacy had trouble reading it and thought that's what it said. Which antibiotic are you taking?
