an antibiotic that treats bacterial overgrowth in intestine. Dose is 600 mg/day for 10 days.

Rifaximin is a semisynthetic antibiotic that's most commonly used to treat traveler's diarrhea and hepatic encephalopathy.

It's main problem is that it has poor oral bioavailability, so little of it is absorbed if it's swallowed.
