I have a abcess tooth which one is best cipro septra or keflex? ## Hi Brenda, From what I could gather, Ciprofloxacin is not commonly prescribed for dental infections. So it's probably not the best choice as a first line treatment option.. Septra and Keflex on the other hand, are more commonly prescribed by dentists for tooth and other mouth related infections, due to their broader spectrum. You may want to talk with your doctor about either one of those last two options to see what works best. Sometimes the right decision has to come from trial and error, depending on how your body reacts to each medication. Have you taken either of these medications in the past?

AMOX-CLAV 875 MG TAB can this med help with tooth infection also? my gum is swollen from the infection.... ## This is a generic for Augmentin, which is an antibiotic that's used to treat various types of bacterial infections. Learn more Augmentin details here. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Did your doctor or dentist prescribe it for this? If not, then you need to see one of them to confirm the presence of an infection and to ensure that you have enough antibiotic prescribed to finish a full course of treatment. Otherwise, if these are just leftovers from another infection and you don't have enough, it creates the risk of your developing antibiotic resistant bacteria.

I am taking Cephalexin 500 for a tooth infection, tramadol every day for arthritis, and I am having problems with insomnia, can I take ZzzQuil? ## Hi, Milli! How are you? Both the Tramadol and the Diphenhydramine in the Zzzquil can elevate the levels of serotonin in your brain. Too much serotonin can cause serotonin syndrome, which can be fatal. Thus, combining these medications isn't advisable, unless your doctor has specifically told you that it is safe for you to do so. Learn more Tramadol details here. Learn more Zzzquil details here. For anyone wishing to save money, it isn't necessary to purchase Zzzquil, Diphenhydramine is the same ingredient that is in Benadryl and the store brand/generic equivalents. Left ear infection. Instilled 3 drops Neomycin and Polymyxin 8 Sulfates and Hydrocortisone Otic in suspension tonight. I forgot to shake it. Can that hurt my ear? ## Not really, it just means that you may not have gotten the right amount of the active ingredients in those drops. Thus, from now on, you do need to be careful to make sure to shake it, as instructed. Doing that too many times could cause the infection to not be properly eradicated. You should, however, double check this information with your doctor or pharmacist. Is there anything else I can help with?
