How are you feeling? I'm very sorry about the side effects that you've been having. And yes, I think you should see your doctor about trying a different antibiotic. The problem breathing is very concerning and could signify the start of an allergic reaction, which may just get worse with repeated exposure to this medication. According to the FDA, typical antibiotic side effects should include symptoms, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Is there anything else I...

Will smz/tmo ds 800-160 help with strep throat? ## From what you've listed, this would be Sulfamethoxazole with Trimethoprim, according to the FDA, it's a generic for the antibiotic Bactrim and can be used to treat various types of infections. Typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. However, it shouldn't be taken, unless your doctor has confirmed the presence of an infection and prescribed it for you. Taking it improperly could cause you to develop antibiotic resistant bacteria. Is there anything else I can help with?

why amc500 pill use in pimples problem. ## @sangita, AMC 500 reportedly contains 500mgs of amoxicillin + 125mgs of clavulanate potassium, which is used for treating a variety of bacterial infections (including skin infections). I don't know if your pimples are the result of a skin infection, but if they are, then that would probably explain why your doctor prescribed it to you. As far as side effects are concerned, are you currently experiencing any symptoms from taking this antibiotic or are you just curious about what potential side effects can happen? Please post back in a little more detail and I'll see what I can do to help!

I am receiving Ceftazidime 2x daily for 7 days by midline IV for a chronic Pseudomonas aeruginosa infection of my kidney stones. This is my fourth course of treatment with Ceftazidime in the last 5 months. I have completed day 4 and I have begun experiencing episodes of short-term memory loss. I can't find anything in the literature to explain it. This is the second antibiotic this has happened with. ## Hello, Mickey! How are you doing? NO, I've read over the professional side effect listing provided by the FDA and there is nothing about that being a known side effect of this antibiotic. Typical side effects are listed as including abdominal cramps, nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. There is a chance that it's just a reaction that you have to ...

Swollen sore abcess tooth with a lump under jawbone in area of abcessband it's Christmas Eve no dentist open I have cipro about five will they help ## Hello, DJ! How are you? I'm sorry about the dental problem you're having. According to the FDA, Cipro is an antibiotic that can be used to treat various types of bacterial infections. Though it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. However, the main issue is that you won't have enough to take a full course of the antibiotics to fully eradicate the infection, which creates the risk of your developing antibiotic resistance. Additionally, it will not help with whatever the underlying problem is that allowed the abscess to develop, thus, you will still need to see you...

Can it cure scalp condition? ## Hi Luis, Pentrexyl contains the active ingredient Ampicillin, which is an antibiotic that's used to treat a variety of bacterial infections. Depending on the cause of your scalp condition and whether there's an actual infection present, this medication may be beneficial. However you'd ultimately have to have your scalp examined first in order to be sure you aren't taking an antibiotic for no real reason. Have you seen a doctor about this? If so, what did s/he say?

Started taking this med yesterday due to possible uti, woke up this morning with watery diarrhea is this normal ## Hi Marianne, From what I've researched, watery diarrhea is listed as a side effect that should be reported to your doctor immediately. I realize today is Christmas and many doctors are on vacation during the holidays, so hopefully your symptoms aren't very severe? However I'd still encourage you to call your doctor anyways, since that's what the drug monograph recommends when it comes to certain symptoms. I am taking DOXY-CYCL HYCL along with 10mg of Amlodipine. Now my legs are swollen. I'm not sure if it's the antibiotics or the blood pressure pills. Am I supposed to take both pills at the same time? Also I've been on the Amlodipine for 2 months and 4 days of the 7 day antibiotic. ## Hello, TC! How are you? I didn't find any interactions or problems listed between these two medications in the Medscape database. However, it's always best to double check this information to be sure. If I had to make a guess, I'd say it is most likely the Amlodipine, it is known to sometimes cause edema in some people that take it, as listed in the side effects according to the FDA. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache and hypotension. The antibiotic may cause side ef...

My boyfriend took amoxicillin a year ago for a infection he did not finish the prescription an now has the same chest infection again and he wants to take the amoxicillin that's left, I want to know if it is safe for him to do this.... ## Hi, Tina! He should see his doctor for a new prescription. The reasons I'm saying that are because if these are just the leftovers from an old prescription for an infection, he may not have enough to fully eradicate this infection, which creates the risk of developing antibiotic resistant bacteria and that can be very dangerous. Plus, after a year from the date they were dispensed to him, they begin to lose effectiveness and that also ups the risk of developing antibiotic resistant bacteria. This antibiotic did cause burning in the chest, heart palpitations, disgusting taste in mouth that nothing can get rid of, loss of appetite and diarrhea and vomiting the first day I took it with yogurt. I wouldn't advise anyone to take this medication with dairy. Be sure to have a FULL meal before taking this medication to avoid severe nausea ?? I also had joint pain in my calves and tingling in hands and feet. ## Hi Rys, Sorry to hear about your experience with generic Macrobid (Nitrofurantoin). Looking at the drug monograph on NIH.gov, all of what you mentioned, aside from heart palpitations & that "disgusting" taste, are reported to be general side effects from the medication itself. I give my two year old son his meds and he throw up like 10 min after ## Hello, Tiffiney! How is your son doing? According to the information provided by the FDA, antibiotics can cause nausea, as a side effect, along with dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. However, the concern, of course, is that he may not be keeping enough down to treat the infection. Have you consulted his doctor? He might need to switch him to a different antibiotic.
