This medication almost killed me, it gave me diarrhea so severe I ended up in the ER. My doctor gave me antibiotics and wanted me to continue taking Alevian Duo but nothing would stop the diarrhea until I decided to stop taking those awful pills, 24 hours after that I was OK. Months after that my doctor said we should try again and in less than 8 hours after the first pill of Alevian Duo I was feeling awful cramps and had the worse diarrhea. I had a sever upper respiratory infection over 3 months ago. Found out I had fluid in my ears. My ears were ringing so loud. Took the regular amoxicillin til it was gone. Sent back a second time, was prescribed claritin & nasal spray. Neither worked. Went back a second time because was told I had fluid behind eardrum. Was prescribed amoxicillin- clav 500 Was feeling well for 2 days. Now, I have this constant hissing noise in left ear. Also, my ear is like stereo! Everything is LOUD ## That could be due to the infection, and it being cleared up. Have you informed your doctor of the issue? Has there been any change? How long do the side effects of Fortaz last after you stop taking it? ## Hi Mary - I did not find specific information as far as how long you could be experiencing side effects after stopping the drug. I know from my own experience that it can be weeks in the case of other antibiotics. You might consider calling the manufacturer Teligent Pharma at 856-697-1441. DailyMed also has a pretty detailed list of possible adverse effects. May I ask what you are experiencing?

My 19 month old son has had osteomyelitis in his left hip and he has been on IV Fluxocillin for 7weeks and on oral Keflex 250mg four times daily for 6weeks. Iam worried that such doses might leave his immune system exposed. Does anyone haeve any suggestion as to how to rebuild his immune system after the course of antibiotics. ## At this time he would be at far greater risk if he didn't have the antibiotics. My physician ordered Augmentin but insurance only paid for the generic. I have a sinus infection and have been on amox tr-k clv for 4 days now. I have not had any relief yet. It didn't help and I wonder why? I feel that generic meds are not working for me. I know that all generic drugs are chemically made different than the Brand drug in this case Augmentin. I have a problem with blockage in my ear. It started last week when I had the flu. My flu is sorted out now, but my left ear is still blocked. I get penicillin and prednicort from the chemist but doesnt cure the problem for longer than 3 months. The area around the ear stays swollen and I had a scan done but shows nothing of interest.
