I just started a 10 day round of 10 mg of Prednisone 2x a day and I usually take either a Soma or an Alprazolam to help me sleep. Can I still take one of the meds to help me sleep? ## Hello Karen, Unfortunately if the doctor has not instructed you to continue taking the medication I would advise against it. Prescription medication should only be taken as the doctor has instructed. What I can tell you is that from what I read on the NIH drug interaction site predisone and soma do not have any listed interactions. Again I advise that you keep your doctor informed of all the medication that you will be taking and not to take chances with your health. I hope this information helps.

I ended up at the ER thinking I was having a heart attack. So I didn't take the last two pills. It has now been a full week after my last dose, and I am still struggling with insomnia, nausea, dizziness, muscle weakness, loss of appetite, heart pounding and high bp. I feel better in the evenings, but then it starts over in the mornings. Does anyone know how much longer these side effects will last? ## I was prescribed Oxaprozin for pain but am afraid it will give me colitis symptoms. I can't take Sulfa drugs or most NSAIDs or a variety of antiobiotics either due to this. When I am really sick with an infection, I usually just have to ride it out. Do you think it's worth a try or would you say that this is a major side effect and people with sensitive digestive systems probably will have trouble with it. I especially have trouble with generic tablets that are solt-milled and have no hard coating or aren't capsules.
