I was wondering if amoxicillin really goes bad or does it just lose it's strength? ## It is not one of the antibiotics that becomes dangerous, once it's expired, but yes, it does start to lose effectiveness, which creates the risk of it not fully eradicating bacteria and its developing antibiotic resistance. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with?

Thanks! ## Hi Angel, Amoxicillin may cause headaches in some patients. This side effect may be temporary until the body has time to adjust to amoxicillin. I've also read about others experiencing what they described as 'extreme' headaches too, so you're definitely not alone on this one. Moxymax is listed by the FDA as containing the antibiotic Amoxicillin and its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. My 7mnonths boy was given a moxymax when he had a flue.what exactly is it for? ## Hello, Manelesh! How are you? This medication is listed by the FDA as containing the antibiotic Amoxicillin, so it is only effective at treating or preventing bacterial infections and will do nothing for the flu, since it's caused by a virus. Did he possibly develop a chest infection or a sinus infection, while he was ill? The typical side effects of this medication may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.

My vet prescribed amoxicillin for my dog, and the pills he gave me are thin, circular white tablets with no imprint what so ever. my tooth was decayed and I was in some pain. I visited a local dentist who suggested me to go for a root canal. He asked me when I can start the treatment and gave me Mox 500mg yellow capsules and some pain killer. The dentist is a young doctor who seems to be competent but I would like to know whether for what purpose this Mox 500mg is for. I am slight confused as I have read some comments about it. SORE THROAT SO BAD THAT I SPIT BLOOD WHEN I CLEAR MY THROAT. ## I have a very bad sore throat and need to know which antibiotic, amoxicilina or ampicilina, is best to treat this sore throat. ## Both Amoxicillin and Ampicillin can be used to treat infections, however, it is very important to be certain that it is being caused by an infection of some type. If the sore throat has been caused by something like a virus, allergies, just being hoarse or a myriad of other things, then antibiotics will not help. In addition, if you use them inappropriately you run the risk of developing antibiotic resistant bacteria. Have you consulted a doctor, yet? ## dry hacking cough/sinus problem ## I am having dry cough from past 5 days. I am using ciprodac 500 (ciprofloxacin) and Leekug-SG. please suggest...

I have been on this med for 6 days now and I noticed that these funny little cauliflower small things that have been growing on my face is going away. One doc once told me it was caused from cholesterol - well this med isn't a cholesterol pill. Other things are also changing on my face for the good. Would you know what it's curing by just guessing? ## Well, since Amoxicillin with Clavulanic Acid, the generic for Augmentin is an antibiotic, then it's probably some type of infection. It has even been shown that some forms of acne can be helped with certain antibiotics. However, since it is a drug, it may cause side effects, such as: nausea, dizziness, skin rash and diarrhea. 10 weeks pregnant. Have a terrible cold. Today my ears are ringing and hurting. Is it OK to take amoxicillin 500 mg. I did not have a chance to see my doctor today. Me pain started like 2 ours ago. Please help. ## Hello, Marce! How are you? I'm very sorry that you're sick. If all of your symptoms are just due to a cold, then Amoxicillin won't help. It only treats bacterial infections. And, since you are pregnant, it's very important that you see your doctor for a proper diagnosis, before you take anything. Otherwise, you could place both you and your baby at risk. I have a sore throat and an ear ache. Can I take an outdated Amoxicillin from 6/15/2012? ## Hello, Lillie! How are you? How much amoxicillin is safe for a 5 year old at 38 lbs? ## Hi indi, According to the MayoClinic, (if you're intending on using amoxicillin for a typical bacterial infection), the dose for children older than 3 months of age, weighing less than 88lbs is based on body weight and "must be determined by your doctor". However, they go on to note that the "usual" dose is anywhere from 20 to 45mg per 2.2lbs of body weight (per day); to be divided and administered every 8 to 12 hours. You could try to do the math on that in order to get a rough estimate - But ideally, like they said, you should discuss these details with your doctor just to be on the safe side. Hope this helps!
