Outdated Amoxicillin

I have a sore throat and an ear ache. Can I take an outdated Amoxicillin from 6/15/2012?

Medications tend to degrade over time and lose effectiveness, which creates the risk of it not completely eradicating the bacteria, which may result in your developing antibiotic resistant bacteria. Thus, it would be better to see your doctor for a new supply.

The FDA lists the typical side effects of an antibiotic as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.
