I've been taking this for 4 days by IV 1xdaily. 1 more day to go then I start oral for 5 days. Treatment for inflamed kidney. The problem I have is severe headache all the time. Tylenol doesn't help. Starts in my neck behind my left ear it's really tender to touch. Should I maybe talk about an alternative drug?

Hello, Mel! How are you doing? Has there been any change?
That can be a normal side effect of this medication, as reported by the FDA, along with nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea.
These side effects will be more prominent with the stronger IV doses, things should improve once you're taking the lower oral doses, though it may take a week, or so, for things to change.
The tenderness behind you ear may be a swollen gland, due to your body fighting the infection, which can also be normal, but it would be best to have your doctor check it out, to be sure.
