Amneal Oxycodone (generic Percocet) 10 325
(Newest replies first)

Updated

Amneal's oxycodone, generic for percocet 10/325 is white, oblong, blank on one side, and imprinted with IP 204 (not IP 203)! I usually take Watson or Mallinckrodt, 10/325, (2) tablets every 4-6 hours (240 monthly), but I was given Amneal today when filling my script, and I am not happy! I have cancer, and I also take morphine sulphate 30 mgs as well (1 every 12 hours), and Fioricet with Codeine for severe migraines (as needed)! I do not feel Amneal is sufficient or even close to the chemical makeup as Watson or Mallinckrodt for controlling pain/chronic pain! Amneal does not act the same way on my body, and I should not have to take more for same result! I think when you pay cash for your medications, and have been on the medication for 8 years, using the same pharmacy, they should order what helps you! The pharmacist says he has been ordering Watson 10/325 and Mallinckrodt 10/325, but they are only sending him Amneal! I am not happy, as I pay over $300 out of my own pocket for the my generic oxycodone alone! Pharmacist says he has to take what is shipped to him! Not sure I like that answer, but I checked 7 pharmacies within a 10 mile radius of me, and they all are stating the same fact, and substituting Watson or Mallinckrodt with Amneal! What is going on with ocycodone, generic percocet 10/325? Whatever it is, I don't like it? Generics are NOT all created equal as they say they are! It sucks to have to rely on medications to live, but what else are we to do! Thank you all for reading this! Love to all! <3

Re: CrankiJo (# 24) Expand Referenced Message

I am having difficulties getting Percocet that works. Alvogen does not work at all. Now, cvs wants to give me Amnio. From what I read from pts, this doesn't work either. R they same company?

Re: candy (# 12) Expand Referenced Message

I tried the amneal brand the pharmacist at cwfm pawned off 126 on me.i knew he had the real thing because I had just gotten it earlier.it was so weak that I had to overtake to get pain relief.my doctor pulled the early refill trick on me and made me go on suboxone.now I have no pain relief for the nerves in my back, legs, hups and neuropathy in my feet.BE CAREFUL WITH THE AMNEAL BRAND AND TAKE TIME TO CHECK. THE FDA IS CHECKING ON THEM NOW.two many complaints.

Amneal is pure horses***!! Why the heck is it still out there? Haven't enough people complained with severe side effects? Our medicine is being made filled with crap and hardly any medicine!! As if we cant tell!! Effing senators and politicians ARE NOT DOCTORS! They need to stay out of Healthcare!!!

My Dr. prescribed Amneal Oxycodone with A04 imprinted on it. Is it immediate release or extended release? It's 5mg.

I agree with you. I hate this Amneal garbage!! I take Watson or Mallinckrodt too and they switched to Amneal because it's cheaper. Of course it's cheaper. It's pure garbage! I have no pain relief. What the heck is this crap that is made in India and given to us here in the US? They don't have the same quality control standards in India!! This frustrates me! Stop this!! I am in serious pain and I might as well be taking just plain Tylenol!

I am having the same problem. Ive been on percocet for 8 years and this manufacturer is garbage. They make me itch I know its the fillers and they dont put all the narcotic in there pills. I always run out because the days I need them to work they dont.

I knew it these are crap! I felt like I was out of my mind. These do not relieve any of my pain, another month of no pain relief. Now just hope I can change pharmacy since I'm in a pain contract. They give me headaches and feel weird in my head. This isn't the first time it's happened. Last month they were ok, not this month.

I have found out the same thing about generic pain meds. They work about half the time they are supposed to. If I had my choice I would never take another pill but I have diabetic neuropathy in my legs and the pain levels are always in the 6_8 range and at times almost 11-12 for real I can't function and walk on a cane with out some relief.

Amneal is absolutely the worst medication for chronic pain. Try the Endocet brand of generic Percocet. It is made by Endo, the company that makes brand name Percocet. Endocet contains the exact same fillers, and the exact same process to make it, so it is the essentially the same as brand name Percocet. The Endocet brand is at least twice as effective as any other generic brand I have tried. You won't be disappointed.

Got off Amneal and on Actavis. Works so much better for pain but I also have 9 out of ten side effects listed and can't really function well. Only taking at nite now and waiting for month to be up. Doc says try Norco but I was told it's not much better than Tramadol. Any advice for breakthrough drug. Am on Fentanyl patch for chronic pain.

I was on hydrocodone for 11 1/2 years x6 per day. After being on it that long it would only last for 3 hrs and my pm Dr had a no more than 6 short acting per day. So I requested a change. Over the years I've tried the long acting medications such as fentanyl, morphine with dilauded for breakthrough. I'd last a day or two on them since they were just too strong. I liked the norco for my pain relief. No side effects for me, no ups and downs, no nausea nothing. Just pain relief. I was switched to percocet last Friday. I've taken percocet before after surgery, other than not being able to sleep it didn't have major side effects. I picked up my new rx and was excited to finally go back to 24 hrs of pain relief. The manufacturer of the med is amneal pharm. Horrible. I can't stay awake for long. It knocks me out faster than ambien does. There are a few manufacturers that I had a problem with when taking the norcos, mallinkrodt chem, amneal, and there was 1 other forgot the name. Those are the cheapest and I'm not referring to a patient's cost but quality of product. I have found over the years that Watson and qualitest make the best generics. Unfortunately, I'm stuck with this rx til my month runs out and then I'll switch pharmacies. My pain level is off the charts now because I can't function during the day on these. I can't sleep all day so I can only take them once I'm home and all my responsibilities are done with for the day.

There is something definitely wrong with amneal 10/325, no relief at all, I had luckily found an older Watson script I had in a travel bag. Two different products. Amneal should be investigated for fraud. Quality of live is at stake here

Tell your doctor to give you brand name Percocet, he'll sign on bottom line "do not substitute". Then tell your Pharmacist you're paying cash for it and pay for it ahead of time.. you've just bought your meds no more waiting,....And also pharmacies are in it to save$, so they'll order cheaper generics and wait til they arrive. You can also talk to the OWNER, he'll make sure you get what u want since you're a cash customer. I'm so sorry you have cancer , I'll pray for you , that it goes away. I don't know why but I feel connected to you somehow. Hope everything goes well for you ! Rachel

Thanks. My pharmacist done the same, but I told him he knew my scrips were needed every month, and he should order a backup in case the dust. Didn't have mine.it came down to me calling pharmacy not chains and when one said they would honor my brand, I called my current druggist back. I told him to transfer all my scripts to the new store,he told me he would order six big containers of my advagen. I haven't had a problem since. Good luck

I am having similar result with AMNEAL generic. Must take every 3 hrs rarher than 5 hours for same effect. Having same problem with Mallinckrodt FENTANYL PATCHES. Who regulates generics? I would think they'd have to be what they say they are. What "stimulant" are they using? Simple caffeine is said to augment pain reliever capabilities
Can they add even that without FDA knowledge? This is SO wrong!

I think this is no different than a bar tenderived watering down drinks and still paying full price. This is totally unacceptable and someone needs to write their contact guess man and tell them this is totally I acceptable. Especially the price of drugs and insurance. We have a right to get comfort for our pain. The drug companies our money hungry people and they control everyone with their money. Especially our representatives with their money. I have gone thru this also and I am discussed along with everyone that I know that take pain medicine. We don't get relief, but the drug prices and insurances just keep going higher and higher. It is total ripoff from pharmaceutical companies. I hope that someone will write our reps and ask them to please listen to us. We have a right to get what we pi at for and not have some junk fillets for our so called pain medication. Hope you all the best.

For me, Mallinckrodt is at least 5 times better than any other generic Percocet I have tried. You might want to look into Endocet, Some say it is equivalent to brand name Percocet.
