Amneal Oxycodone (generic Percocet) 10 325 (Page 5) (Top voted first)

Updated

Amneal's oxycodone, generic for percocet 10/325 is white, oblong, blank on one side, and imprinted with IP 204 (not IP 203)! I usually take Watson or Mallinckrodt, 10/325, (2) tablets every 4-6 hours (240 monthly), but I was given Amneal today when filling my script, and I am not happy! I have cancer, and I also take morphine sulphate 30 mgs as well (1 every 12 hours), and Fioricet with Codeine for severe migraines (as needed)! I do not feel Amneal is sufficient or even close to the chemical makeup as Watson or Mallinckrodt for controlling pain/chronic pain! Amneal does not act the same way on my body, and I should not have to take more for same result! I think when you pay cash for your medications, and have been on the medication for 8 years, using the same pharmacy, they should order what helps you! The pharmacist says he has been ordering Watson 10/325 and Mallinckrodt 10/325, but they are only sending him Amneal! I am not happy, as I pay over $300 out of my own pocket for the my generic oxycodone alone! Pharmacist says he has to take what is shipped to him! Not sure I like that answer, but I checked 7 pharmacies within a 10 mile radius of me, and they all are stating the same fact, and substituting Watson or Mallinckrodt with Amneal! What is going on with ocycodone, generic percocet 10/325? Whatever it is, I don't like it? Generics are NOT all created equal as they say they are! It sucks to have to rely on medications to live, but what else are we to do! Thank you all for reading this! Love to all! <3

I was on hydrocodone for 11 1/2 years x6 per day. After being on it that long it would only last for 3 hrs and my pm Dr had a no more than 6 short acting per day. So I requested a change. Over the years I've tried the long acting medications such as fentanyl, morphine with dilauded for breakthrough. I'd last a day or two on them since they were just too strong. I liked the norco for my pain relief. No side effects for me, no ups and downs, no nausea nothing. Just pain relief. I was switched to percocet last Friday. I've taken percocet before after surgery, other than not being able to sleep it didn't have major side effects. I picked up my new rx and was excited to finally go back to 24 hrs of pain relief. The manufacturer of the med is amneal pharm. Horrible. I can't stay awake for long. It knocks me out faster than ambien does. There are a few manufacturers that I had a problem with when taking the norcos, mallinkrodt chem, amneal, and there was 1 other forgot the name. Those are the cheapest and I'm not referring to a patient's cost but quality of product. I have found over the years that Watson and qualitest make the best generics. Unfortunately, I'm stuck with this rx til my month runs out and then I'll switch pharmacies. My pain level is off the charts now because I can't function during the day on these. I can't sleep all day so I can only take them once I'm home and all my responsibilities are done with for the day.

Got off Amneal and on Actavis. Works so much better for pain but I also have 9 out of ten side effects listed and can't really function well. Only taking at nite now and waiting for month to be up. Doc says try Norco but I was told it's not much better than Tramadol. Any advice for breakthrough drug. Am on Fentanyl patch for chronic pain.

Amneal is absolutely the worst medication for chronic pain. Try the Endocet brand of generic Percocet. It is made by Endo, the company that makes brand name Percocet. Endocet contains the exact same fillers, and the exact same process to make it, so it is the essentially the same as brand name Percocet. The Endocet brand is at least twice as effective as any other generic brand I have tried. You won't be disappointed.

I have found out the same thing about generic pain meds. They work about half the time they are supposed to. If I had my choice I would never take another pill but I have diabetic neuropathy in my legs and the pain levels are always in the 6_8 range and at times almost 11-12 for real I can't function and walk on a cane with out some relief.

I agree with you. I hate this Amneal garbage!! I take Watson or Mallinckrodt too and they switched to Amneal because it's cheaper. Of course it's cheaper. It's pure garbage! I have no pain relief. What the heck is this crap that is made in India and given to us here in the US? They don't have the same quality control standards in India!! This frustrates me! Stop this!! I am in serious pain and I might as well be taking just plain Tylenol!

My Dr. prescribed Amneal Oxycodone with A04 imprinted on it. Is it immediate release or extended release? It's 5mg.

I tried the amneal brand the pharmacist at cwfm pawned off 126 on me.i knew he had the real thing because I had just gotten it earlier.it was so weak that I had to overtake to get pain relief.my doctor pulled the early refill trick on me and made me go on suboxone.now I have no pain relief for the nerves in my back, legs, hups and neuropathy in my feet.BE CAREFUL WITH THE AMNEAL BRAND AND TAKE TIME TO CHECK. THE FDA IS CHECKING ON THEM NOW.two many complaints.

I am having difficulties getting Percocet that works. Alvogen does not work at all. Now, cvs wants to give me Amnio. From what I read from pts, this doesn't work either. R they same company?

Try Amneal.10/325. If you can find them, you will be very happy with endocet. Other than thet, they are all crap. You are right.

Endocet in my opinion is a very generic generic. the cost is half of what the normal costs, so that should tell me something. But im very pleased with Amneal. i feel we get use to a brand and then if it switches, we rend to freak. but i was in the hospital recently, received watson, and felt like they weren't as strong. but im sure they were.

Since yours is a unique case Wonder if you should contact the maaufacturer directly and meege with a "study". Ofentimes due to a lapse in rights ownership (timed) they might be strategizing to reenter it with some tweeks to formula or name and therefore not producing enough for tge current demand. Please excuse typos my droid has a mind of its own sometimes. In almost #5 font some error slip onto my message.

That is total bs, as i specifically asked my former pharmacist to order watson. Id take them back n see if they can switch em out rant n rave dont waste your money.

I'm sorry for all you are going thru. I've had similar problems myself. As Laura indicated Watson bought Actavis, but they opted to keep name Actavis and the formula is NOT the same. Mallies are like aspirin to me. I've learned my local CVS and RIte-Aid have changed from Mallies to Amneal. McKesson is middleman for both pharmacies here in Los Angeles. II used to not have a problem requesting Watson brand for oxycodone, vicodin or Norco. But it is totally different just in past few months. May I suggest what I did and that is using ur script for approx. 10 pills so you can try the generics to see if they work for you. However, once u use your script that way, b/c schedule II, it cannot be reused for the remaining amount. When in trial stage, ask you doctor 4 two scripts explaining the above. This way you can go to your insurance and ask for brand name exception proving u have tried 3 generics. Also, Costco has an 'insurance plan' for those with no insurance. The cash price is very reasonable but I don't know which generic brand they are carrying. Incidentally, the pharmacist (@Rite-Aid) told me sched II drugs are all backordered and she doesn't know if receipt will be in a week or month or whatever. This in WLA So I don't know was if it is a local problem or what. When I called Actavis a few weeks ago, she checked and said there are no problems on their end. Production was normal & there are no prod issues. So problem lies with distributor. This relates to Watson/Actavis only with my fone calls. However, the backorder reflects ALL generics and brand name of Percocet.
Hope this helps a wee bit.

Its all in our minds. The minute ingreedients have nothing to do with the.oxycodone.ive been on them for 6 yrs, tried all brands and felt the same way as you do. Once i was off then abt a month, i realized my head was the prob.i do know if its a capsul vs a pill, it is more noticable, pharmacist dif agree but with a drug like percs, there is s huge competition, so pharmacy co's are trying to out do each other, so ive had no problem with amneal, but cant take endocet, that is the poor mans generic, no pun intended.

I switched to amneal 10/325, they are awesome. I feel, its our tolerance level. I can only take one, n im off n running. I use to be like you pharmacy shopping. Now i have no choice, almost every pharmacy here has the Amneal... So, we gave in.. Lol

Unfortunately, there can be some slight fluctuations from one generic to another, they just aren't noticeable to most people. However, you could be experiencing problems due to having been taking it for a long time.

Learn more Percocet details here.

Your body should adjust after a week or so, depending on your tolerance levels and how well you normally adjust to medication changes.

And yes, pharmacies actually order from a distributor, not directly from any given drug company, so the generic they end up with of any given medication will be whichever one their current distributor negotiated the best deal on, so they don't actually get to pick which one they get. They can request the others, but if the distributor can't get it, then they are out of luck.

This is a narcotic analgesic, so it may be habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Are there any other questions or concerns?
