Amneal Pharmaceuticals Hydrocodone 10-325 (Page 5)

Updated

I have been taking hydrocodone 10-325 (made by Watson) for about a year. I picked up my prescription yesterday and instead of the normal yellow pill, I received a white oblong pill imprinted with m367 on it. I took 2 for breakthrough pain and had no relief what-so-ever. I called the pharmacy and was told that they will no longer be able to get the med from Watson. Does anyone know what has happened? I have chronic pain, and these white ones from Amneal Pharmaceuticals is not going to cut it. Has anyone else experienced this?

Re: Rodeo (# 78) Expand Referenced Message

Hi Rodeo.

Yes & I apologize if in my initial post that aside from all the side affects of the Amneal medication, I didn’t mention it wasn’t effective towards pain relief. Nothing worst than feeling sick from a Med and still be in pain Suggestion is to take the unused portion of your script to your doctor and request he give you a receipt and a new script. Then call your insurance company and tell them you had an adverse reaction so they cover the new script and then contact pharmacy’s for a different manufacturer. After using the Mallinckrodt for a week now I can see it’s very similar if not the same as Watson - zero effects of feeling ill

I'm experiencing the same problem. This Amneal is useless. It doesn't affect the pain whatsoever. It makes me so sleepy. I have also had chronic pain since 2006. My prescription was filled at Walgreen's.

If you can, call other pharmacies before to see what brand they carry before you fill your script. Walgreens is now carrying products made by Amneal. I just had a sleeping aid prescribed and I got a bad reaction from that too! Amneal medication is junk. Smiths and Kroger carry Mallinkrodt which is much better than Amneal. Im not sure what CVS carries. Always ask to and find out what brand the medicine is before you buy it. Once its in your hands it can be returned but you have to go to your doc and let them know its causing a reaction. Bring what to you have to the doc for a receipt and get a new script and bring it to a pharmacy that doesn't carry Amneal. Make sure you file a complaint at the FDA. I tried using the fkrm but it never went through. Talk to someone there. Dont bother calling Amneal. They will give you the run around like they did me. Hope this helps. I hate this company for the crummy drugs they are making. They are undercutting other drugs brands by giving the cheapest prices. Cheaper prices means lousy quality medication!

I usually get Watson brand name. On the prescription it says Norco 10-325. Now Walgreen gave me Amneal hydrocodone/apap 10-325, IP110. The Amneals give me a belly ache all day long, whereas the Watsons did not. I wonder why? I have 2 herniated discs pressing on the Sciatic nerve and they won't operate. I'm tired of the stomach aches and I want the Watsons. They didn't give me the belly ache. Maybe the chronic back problem is worsening but it seemed the Watsons were better. I don't like the Amneals and it takes an extra half to weaken the stomach ache.

I've been getting the Watson brand Norco 10-325. Now Walgreens gave me this month Amneal IP110. They give me a belly ache all day long. The Sciatic nerve pain is because of 2 herniated discs. Either the nerve pain is worsening causing my stomach aches all day long or the Amneals are causing it. The Watson brand 10-325 didn't cause me that problem. Those having to take pain pills because of chronic conditions and they won't operate and your 71, like me, should not be confused with those stealing them from their parents medicine cabinet or taking them for a "high". It seems there is no differentiation by the DEA or pharmacies (who act in lieu of your doctor who didn't prescribe the others for your individual pain requirements). Maybe in some cases the abuse wouldn't happen if the medication you are prescribed was not interfered with by new brand names or ineffective brand names and different side effect ingredients that you are not used to.

Re: Cy (# 88) Expand Referenced Message

Stay away from that Amneal garbage. I had severe side effects. Walgreens now carries only Amneal medicine because its cheaper because its garbage. Check other pharmacies to see what they carry before you give them your prescription. Also call and report this to the FDA. Dont bother with filling out their questionnaire. There are lots of people here who will back you on how bad Amneal is. FDA 1-888-463-6332. Also, let your doctor know. Bring what you have left to your doctor, get a receipt for it and have the doc write a new script for the remainder. You should NEVER suffer because of bad nasty ill made medicine! I hope this helps! Please keep us all posted.

Re: Kimber (# 89) Expand Referenced Message

One thing that needs to be considered is that there is a big push to make these opioid painkillers worse. In some cases you may get a little help from a sympathetic Doctor. The environment now is that all opioid patients are treated like addicts. A climate has been drummed into the heads of MOST Doctors is that if anyone tries to discuss the quality of pain meds then that makes you a "chaser" or other seeker of pain meds for no good reason. I have never seen a climate where a person could not express themselves about any aspect of their care regarding pain medications. Every mention of this topic is met with raised eyebrows and suspicion. I know there are some exceptions but they are truly in the minority. Many Doctors will not even write a prescription for any pain meds even in a "bridge" type situation. They have been brow beaten into believing anyone who discusses their pain meds and the lack of quality could only have ulterior motives. I hate to sound so negative but unfortunately this is where long term chronic pain med patients find themselves.

Re: Cy (# 87) Expand Referenced Message

Yes Cy, whatever Anneal adds to their generics is making people sick and doesn’t even offset the pain

As consumers, the recipe used by all companies should be disclosed to the public. Just as with foods some people may also be allergic to the added ingredients. This is America and all citizens have the right to know.

Hi folks, I also experienced the same problem with walgreens not using Watson but using Amneal, I was able to talk to my doctor and reach out to walgreens, who then gave me Watson in exchange for my unused amount of amneal. So they do have Watson... I was told that they had a backfill on Watson and couldn’t get it but when they could they did. So you can get Watson still , talk to your dr. And walgreens who will have to call insurance to get a Over ride on the new script , my dr . Did have to write on the new script not effective (reaction) please fill on **\**\ date ... hope this helps!

Re: Rodeo (# 96) Expand Referenced Message

It is good that your local Walgreens was able to find some old labeled Watson generic for you. Watson was bought out by Amneal and they no longer manufacture generic hydrocodone under the Watson name. Because Walgreens has literally thousands of stores and maybe the Pharmacist located some at another Walgreens and did an intrastore transfer. Look it up how the Watson generic hydrocodone is no longer being manufactured. If you have a Pharmacist that cares and is willing to put in the work maybe they can locate some remaining Watson generic hydrocodone pills. They will eventually dry up though. They are no longer being manufactured.

My Walgreens said they had no more Watson and could not order any more. So it all depends.

Re: Kimber (# 55) Expand Referenced Message

Someone else suggested talking with your doctor & trading them out? I am going hollistic & natural herbs, supplements, vitamins, diet, a lot of work, but at least I am not in hospital, which amneal almost caused!!
I have ordered CBD oil, let you guys know it a week or so? Also I use turmeric root, ginger root, honey (if you can get pass the taste) LOL!! Per the honey!! I hope everyone takes action over this awful situation!! The more ppl the better results!!! Go through your state rep, governor, senator & definitely contact FDA!! As for me, I am in a lot of pain while I transition, but it will level out! I cleanse my body every 4/5 years or so!! I can see better, feel better, sharper response time to things in general! Wishing everyone the best! Hang in there! Remember always check with your doctor before starting, stopping, changing, your meds, supplements, otc, ect...
