Amlopres At
UpdatedI have been prescribed for High BP (persistent at 150/100 for last six months), Amlopres-AT, which I am now taking for the last two months. The BP is steady at 130/80. However, lately, I am having marginal swelling in the foot/ankle which develops during the day, but disappears in the early morning. I am taking Amlopres-AT after breakfast. I want an opinion on the following:
1. Is the swelling likely to develop and be a permanent side effect if I continue with Amlopres-AT? Is there an alternate medicine w/o side effect?
2. Will taking tablet for hypertension lead to Diabetics?
My weight is 72Kg(Ht -5 ft 3") - I am walking for one hour daily and also changed diet as per nutritionist recommendation to reduce calorie intake. I do not have any diabetic problem now. However I am taking a tablet for Hypothyroid and cholesterol (storvas10mg). This is just for your information.

There is really no way a doctor or anyone else can know ahead of time how any medication can affect anyone. That is one of the risks of taking these chemically derived prescription drugs.
High Blood Pressure can be controlled and maintained with an array of natural alternatives. A few to mention are listed below:
-modifying your diet to primarily raw fruits and vegetables
-exercise your breathing throughout the day (learning to take slow deep breathes)
-meditation
-having more potassium and magnesium in your diet from fruits
-only use Pink Crystal Himalayan Salt as opposed to regular table salt
-staying hydrated (pee clear throughout the day)
These steps alone should be enough to control one's blood pressure. I was also diagnosed with high blood pressure years ago, but can confidently recommend the above information to anyone who has it, in order to get relief. Results won't happen over night, but if you're consistent with the above suggestions, I'm confident in saying that you will see improvement.
I should also note that if your wondering about the possibility of this drug giving you Diabetes, that you should be aware that Diabetes type 1 and 2 can be controlled on a low fat raw vegan diet. It was only type 2 at first that was documented to be cured and reversed, but now more studies also show that type 1 can be controlled without medications on this lifestyle diet.
I hope this helps!

Which medicine is better for blood pressure management - Amlopres AT or Concor AM5? Previously, I was taking Amlopres AT, but 3 months back I got a complete checkup and my cardiologist changed my BP medicine to Concor AM 5. Please guide me as to which medicine is better and has less side effects.
