after consuming actapin amlodipine 5mg for one and a half month. Can I stopped taking the medication if my blood pressure is under control?? ## The issue is, if the Amlodipine is the only reason your blood pressure is under control and you stop taking it, it is likely going to get out of control again. On top of that, abruptly stopping a medication like this can cause a rebound effect, which could result in dangerously elevated blood pressure. Learn more Amlodipine details here. Have you consulted your doctor? ## My blood pressure is on average 140/90 .I am 72 .Is this ok ?

I have been taking amlod/benazp caps 10/40 for about six months. I notice me being light headed. But now it sames like it is happening constance, and i feel short of breath and feel like i have to urinate often. ## Headache, nausea, dizziness, and fatigue are reported to be frequent side effects associated with Amlodipine. Benazepril also lists headaches as a common side effect, but I would think that Amlodipine presents the worst of what you're experiencing, due to the added fatigue. At least it's good to know that there are also many other alternative anti-hypertensive medications or therapies out there if you feel like you need to try something else with less side effects. Can I eat bananas after taking Stamlo 5? ## What has your doctor advised? Are you referring to potassium warnings? Some blood pressure medications, such as the Amlodipine in this, can cause your body to keep more potassium than usual, but you do need some and can't entirely stop ingesting it. You should double check with your doctor, because if it is a concern with this medication, they can do blood tests to check your potassium level.
