Amlodipine Effects On Sinuses And Vertigo

What are the side effects of this drug which I am taking for elevated blood pressure? I have been experiencing some dry feeling in my sinuses and some vertigo. I wonder if it could be connected. I am taking 5 mgs a day.

Some side effects while taking Amlodipine may be:

Very often: peripheral edema (feet and ankles) - in 1 of 10 users
Often: dizziness; palpitations; muscle-, stomach- or headache; dyspepsia; nausea - in 1 in 100 users
Sometimes: blood disorders, development of breasts in men (gynecomastia), impotence, depression, insomnia, tachycardia - in 1 in 1,000 users
Rarely: erratic behavior, hepatitis, jaundice - in 1 in 10,000 users
Very rarely: hyperglycemia, tremor, Stevens-Johnson syndrome - in 1 in 100,000 users

Im exhausted from dry tickle cough ALL night Help. I am taking Losartan potassium 100mg and Amlovasc Amlodipine 5mg. My blood pressure is much lower but

I was taking a blue 5mg. tablet - now I am taking a

Actually came off 5mg Amlodipine for 2 weeks, until dry cough stopped. Now back on pill, no cough but I do get
swollen feet and ankles at night.

I have noticed my hair is thinning a lot and I can see my scalp through it now. I take Amlodopine besilate and Leverthyroxin (for an underactive Thyroid). I have also had problems with my gums being very sore with the gum receding from the teeth. Do you think I should change from the Amlodopine to another blood pressure medication?

I was put on amlodipine 10mg by my cardiologist mid december for my blood pressure and plaque in my carotid. After 4 weeks of taking it, boots of insomnia started, as well as profuse sweating of hands and feet, and nausea. After a couple of days, i started getting dizzy, palpitations and tingling in my hands and feet. I fainted at work 2 weeks ago, and the doctor couldn't find out the problem. I almost fainted last sunday, and the cardiologist said that it could be side effects of amlodipine. I've been off amlodipine for bowt 2 days now, and put on enalapril 10mg instead. I can't really tell if the side effects are subsiding, because i still feel weird and get dizzy. Will this ever disappear?

I am 65 and have been taking Amlodipine 5 mg 1/2 tab od. How can I quit this medicine, now that my systolic reading has come back within normal range from 150?

I'm am just about to start amlodipine, as lisinopril was giving me a hacking cough. But I have read so many scary stories that I am now afraid. Can anyone please give me some advice?

Been taking amlodipine 5mg for several years - Lost the bottle and have not taken any for approx. 2 weeks. I now felt extremely dizzy several times, however my blood pressure is 104 over 70 - heart beat 26, which is extremely low. I cannot get a refill until mid August. What is the significance of my situation, as I take other blood pressure meds? Thanks.

Hi. My brother has been taking 10mg of Amlodipine for around six months thereabouts. He was hospitalized due to severe difficulty in breathing and he's still in the hospital getting tests, but he had 1.5 liters of fluid drained from his left lung. I'm concerned this might be due to him taking Amlodipine?

dear sir ? madam ......amlodipine is very active medicine in the family of hypertension drugs.if some one is suffering from h.b.p and having some side effects like ancle ,feet edima or any other,he can use ferrumphos 3 x with amlodipine without any worryferrum fhos is homoeopathic medicinc medicine and very effective antioxident and anti imflematory and removing immediatly amlodipine side effects without any interaction.ginger tea is also very great suporter of amlodipine without any interaction ,i am taking amlodipine and ferrum fhos since 4 years and oftenly with ginger tea....i always find my b.p stable as normal.thank you all.

I used to run and swim for at least half an hour constantly, but after having stopped taking amlodipine abruptly I can only go for 5 minutes because of chest pains. After resting for some minutes I can run or swim again, but again no longer than 5 minutes. I have to rest every time for some minutes.

It's poison. DO NOT TAKE IT. I wished I listened to my inner self, now I have regrets bcuz I did take it. I'm 64 . My side effects are awful. I only took a total of 31 pills then they went in the trash. I feel like my life is over. Please don't take them. Pray for me.

I can verify some of the side-effects of amlodipine based on my experience. Have been taking 2.5mg since July, 5.0mg since September, and 7.5mg since the end of November. Blood pressure remains about 155/75 even with increasing dosage of amlodipine. But my weight has increased from 178 (stable for over a year before amlodipine) to 185 (and still rising), I have developed swollen, numb, and tingling left leg and foot, and had a dizzy spell resulting in a fall two weeks ago. Am working with my MD on potential change of blood pressure medication.

Dear everyone,

I am from Indonesia and i got this issue with hypertension a few months ago. The doctor prescribed me amlodipine, but after one week i started experiencing shortness of breath, lethargy, mental confusion, blurry vision, etc. you name it, i experienced it. After one week i saw the doctor again and complained about the side effects. The doctor claimed that i had to take the pill for the rest of my life. As the side effects got worse, i tried to find alternatives and learned a lot about the ruining side effects. I met one herbalist who encouraged me to stop taking amlodipine. I also noticed that my bp didn't go lower even after taking amlodipine, so then i decided to quit. Surprisingly, my blood pressure gradually decreased. The first time i saw the doctor, my BP was 154 over 105, but nowadays it is an average 117 over 79. So the doctor was wrong. The following was the treatment i took after quitting amlodipine:

1. Hijama/wet cupping - It is an islamic overall approach to health. Miraculously my BP got lowered in 15 minutes, from 150 over something to 130 over 80. This hijama does make sense as it removes the clot in the blood vessels, so the blood can run freely. I took this approach every two weeks for the last 2 months, but was informed that i could, in the future, have the therapy like once every three months, which is not a big deal for me.

2. Buy a monitor to check my blood pressure on daily basis

3. Eat bananas in the morning, 3-4 of them

4. Use garlic

5. Extra virgin olive oil, which is like magic to me

My blood pressure reduced significantly in 3 weeks and I feel okay now, so blood pressure is no longer the issue for me, but....my problem is the withdrawal symptoms. I had taken amlodipine for about 40 days. Today i have been free for 32 days, but still some symptoms linger (blurry vision, fatigue). However, i can tell that most of my complaints have lessened significantly. I probably need another month to fully feel okay and find myself the way i used to be.
