Amlodipine And Orthostatic Hypotension

I am 75 year old. I take Beta card 50 mg since 40 years for my BP and Amlodipine 5 mg since 20 years.I also take Urimax 0.4 mg since 3 years for my prostatomegaly.Of late i am experiencing orthostatic hypotension when i suddenly standup after sitting for a long time or standing for a long time.I am told that either amlodipine or tomsulosin(urimax) may cause hypotension.Is it so? If it is can i shift my dosage of amlodipine to evening instead of morning when i take beta card. If Urimax is the culprit can i take it at alternate days? Can any knowledgeable gentleman advise in this matter.

Thank you for your kind reply. I am not experiencing this orthostatic hypotension all the time. First I experienced it in 1996 and then in 2006 and again in march 2017. All are short episodes of 5 minutes in duration. I take beta cad 50 mg and amlodipine 5 mg at a time. I have not tried to split them yet (morning and evening). I eat a normal vegetarian diet as I'm from india. I think i am drinking enough fluids just like any other person.

The information you have been provided is correct, it could be due to either one of these medications, according to FDA reports.

Have you ever checked your blood pressure, when you experience the symptoms?

Do you take them both at the same time? If so, have you tried splitting them up and taking them at different times?

What does your normal diet consist of? Are you also making sure to take in enough fluid each day?
