Amlodipine Besylate And Losartan

Can these be taken together in the evening? And will it be effective for 24 hrs? I'm too sleepy during the day!!

Hi, Margo!

You really should check with your doctor, before changing to taking them at night. It's really going to depend on your blood pressure levels and heart rate, as well as the symptoms.

Usually, it's preferred that they be taken in the morning, to help control your blood pressure and heart rate during the times of day that you'll be most active and therefore experiencing the most fluctuations. But if you are severely drowsy from them, they may allow you to switch to taking them at night.

Another alternative is splitting up the doses, so you take part of your dose in the morning and then the rest in the evening, which could lessen the side effects. Many times, they are only given as a single dose due to the fact that people sometimes have trouble remembering to take a medication several times a day. So, this is something else you may want to ask your doctor about doing.

I was taking Losartan potassium 100mg and 2 days ago amlodipine besylate 10mg was added, how long does it usually take for the blood pressure to start dropping to a more normal rate?

I take toporol (metoprolol) 25mg in the a.m. and losartan 50 mg in the p.m. What would be a good time of day to take amlodipine 2.5mg?

I have recently been prescribed Amlodipine and Losartan. My doctor said one or the other should be taken in the morning and the other in the evening. Tbh, I've forgotten which way to do this? My point is, does it matter if I take them both in the morning? It'd be easier for my work regime.
