Hi Anthony Ramos,

Based on my research, Alpha-lipoic acid has been safely used for over than 30 years in Europe to prevent and treat complications associated with diabetes, such as protein glycation, abnormal glucose utilization, polyneuropathy, and cataracts. I have seen a lot of information relating Alpha Lipoic acid to diabetic neuropathy as well. There are also studies which have proven that Lipoic acid can prevent inflammation.

With that being said, there is definitely a chance that this could work for you and I would say that your Neurologist did prescribe you something that could be beneficial. It is a supplement that is very good for you, regardless.

I hope this information is helpful!
