Does Alabama Medicaid pay for 90 8mg subutex pills a month with a prior authorization?
Mobile, Al here...MEDICAID COVERS SUB TREATMENT/Dr's??? I have been a long time reader and this is my very first post EVER, so please bare with me...Alabama Medicaid does pay for suboxone?? I have been contemplating getting on this for a while but have no insurance, and no way to pay for the dr or script. I used to have insurance about 7-8 yrs back (for a shorter span) and the subs worked wonders. The dr at the time was able to write my mental meds and it all went well UNTIL I lost my insurance....you know what happened after that. Back at it again. . I can barely remember his name actually. If anyone has any info on this, please share any details. MY LIFE depends on this. I'm tired of this path that I've been on for almost 19 yrs. I also have to take Prozac and klonopin (I do take those as prescribed by a cheaper dr in town)....opiates are my DOC.. but I'm not sure that taking those two meds with subs are allowed with Medicaid or any insurance bc people are abusing them and drs are afraid to mix...I am seeking any information possible. TIA. I'm also not looking for a dr that's going to wean me off in just a few months. I didn't become an addict overnight, days, or months...I need time. My brain needs time to heal and correct itself. TIA. I've always loved this community, so thanks to all that have helped. SIDENOTE-I do qualify for Medicaid....so yeah, this would be a lifesaver if so.

Re: Brian (# 3)
Fritz Clinic - Google it. They just opened a location in Gadsden! If it's like their Oxmoor location GO! It will change your life if you want that. Whatever you do, DO NOT go to DR Steve Hefter. I heard he opened up in Anniston & was surprised he was able to do that. He is shady & NOT in a nice way. He is as rude & demeaning to his own staff as he his to his patients. I was surprised after I did a search on him learn he can even be licensed in Alabama. If you're female defiantly run! He seems to have a chip on his shoulder when it comes to females. I had to endure many of the 'ole wife rants' & hear the office fights. Awkward. Please don't go there if you anticipate to be met with any type of dignity. I've never experienced anything like that establishment. He is like the Harvey Weinstein of Suboxone RX. You get to endure a 30 minute update of all about him after his 10min - hr judgement of you. You have to pay 1st & he waves that over you because if he doesn't like you he will tell you to leave without your RX or money back. It has never happened to me personally but I did go months & the hour wait in the waiting room was always the same. The friendly staff having to deal with all the people he did things like that too. I noticed online they updated the website with reviews saying "his program is tough" - I really think they had to update cause they can't use the correct adjectives, they're trying to be friendly. God bless. Try him as a last option. If you're male you may fare well, just remember, kiss his ass!
I began 5 years ago on suboxone for fibromyalgia and to help quit the pain pills. Recently I became very I'll and resigned my job. I have no income and only have medicaid. I live in alabama. The prescriptions are covered but I can not find a Dr that takes medicaid. Please, if you know of one anywhere in alabama, I have 3 children and could not handle quitting cold turkey. I've called tons of doctors and found none.

I can't find a list of doctors in Alabama that accept Medicaid for Suboxone patient visits. I’ve tried looking and there’s doctors offices that will allow the Suboxone to be covered under Medicaid but they do not take Medicaid to pay for co-pays or etc.
