Adderall Manufactured By Teva Not Working (Page 2)
(Newest replies first)

I have had two refills of Adderall 20 mg that was manufactured by Teva/barr (Teva) and it seems to have much less medication in each pill. Refills by another manufacturer work. This is ridiculous, and where do we report Teva and who can check each pill for amount for medication? I would gladly donate some of my worthless ones to the FDA?
Re: stephen e (# 1345)
Due to the Adderall shortages, the DEA/FDA continually cutting the allocation of amphetamines/allowing generic labs overseas to get away with murder (read about the generic drug shenanigans in a book by Kathleen Eban), it is very possible that your generic Adderall was actually substituted with Effexor/Lexapro/Prozac/associated SNRI/SSRIs. Depending on your biochemistry, particularly the genes that code for the serotonin and norepinephrine receptors and transporters, it is definitely possible to suffer "brain zaps" as a result of even a few exposures to these chemicals, or more likely the aftereffects from them as your brain returns to its homeostasis.
We know as little about what is really in any particular generic drug as we would know about an Adderall tablet purchased by the average pill-pressing drug dealer. Most people just blindly trust those "in charge" so they think that the two sources of drug manufacture are worlds apart. The Supreme Court recently ruled that a generic drug maker was are not responsible for a woman's horrific reaction where she lost a large percentage of her skin due a similar syndrome to SJS (toxic necrotizing of the epidermis or a similar name).
This case of course holds precedent, which further emboldens generic companies to do whatever they want without fear of reprisal. Also, because in many cases the brand name drug is no longer produced (as with Adderall IR) the patient has no ability to go back to the brand name drug that worked so well initially. The black market drug dealer at least fears angry customers either beating them up or simply taking their business to a dealer who sells them product that is legitimate.
People have been filling out FDA complaints for years (since 2011 or so, I believe?) yet the problem gets worse every year. This tracks with the continual numerical decline of amphetamines allocated to drug manufacturers each year, which is public information, even as the population in general continues to rise (ie more and more births each year, more and more kids who will misbehave and given amphetamines whether or not they actually have ADHD; some are just brats) along with the percentage of adults with ADHD/narcolepsy who legitimately can't function well without the correct medication.
The system is broken, whether accidentally or purposely. Occam's razor points to the latter: Old drugs do not bring in money to pharma companies, and patients will not try pricey new drugs with potential long term harms unless these old drugs "mysteriously" stop working, in the case of Adderall. Or unless there is a massive legal and media blitz that "coincidentally" occurs at the very end of a class of drug's lucrative "on patent" time period which blames these drugs as the sole cause of a multifaceted societal problem despite their centuries-long history as an essential anodyne, rendering them unprescribable by doctors.
And, as another "coincidence", a 33 billion a year industry crops up out of legalizing another class of drugs which are now touted as the solution for every ill, mental or physical! If you don't like the "side" (ie intended) effects of these drugs and do not find them helpful for your condition at all, you are told "try another strain" or get your doctor's recommendation or ask the "budtender" because "everyone is helped by cannabis" (beware ANY proclamation that applies to human sensory perception that begins with "everybody"). It's all absolutely ludicrous.

Just Google it.
Some people can abuse it, chasing elusive euphoria and delusions of invincibility. The rub Is the supposed high ends really fast and it becomes:
- insomnia
- constipation
- irritability
- headaches
- restlessness
and more...

Nothing I write could exceed watching the trailer for Netflix's "Take Your Pills". First 45 seconds you'll have your answer.
Re: Red1080 (# 1363)
Taking too much and taking it when you do not have ADHD.
Re: TimmyTruth1 (# 1353)
Sorry to have to ask this but how in God’s name can anyone feel high from Adderall?
Re: MsRico (# 1361)
I agree my medicine is not working
Without a doubt they are not putting something in these teva pills!! They do not work even a tiny bit. There has to be someone that regulates medicine? This is BS!
Re: RJ (# 1355)
Due to the high volume of dosage , those will appear . RX cutting through skin .
Re: Red1080 (# 1358)
The rub is that correlation doesn't imply causation. Two things are happening in tandem, but there isn't necessarily causal relationship. But maybe there is. It's unknown.... circumstantial evidence isn't empirical. A causal relationship between Adderall and slow wound healing is a hypothesis....but it needs to be tested. What other meds are taken.... Are you sleeping less.... eating a nutrient dense diet? Have high blood pressure or diabetes? So many variables in a human life. Urban myths arise when people assume causal a relationship when one doesn't exist. People go to prison on unproven circumstantial evidence.
Re: RJ (# 1355)
Yes I thought it was just me with my wounds taking forever to heal and I also developed other skin issues I don’t know if related lol. 1 is a very very itchy rash like on only 1 part of my body nowhere else and I’ve tried everything to get rid of I should mention that I take any brand of adderal 20 or 30mg that the pharmacy has in stock
Re: TimmyTruth1 (# 1353)
Where'd that ASSumption come from???
Step off your soapbox.
Re: RJ (# 1355)
I have taken generic Adderall 60mg daily for about 5 years and Brand Adderall 50 mg daily for 16 years prior to that. I have not experienced the issue you have and I am in my 70s. Any slow healing I experience is due to my age. I hope that helps
Has anyone who has taken Adderall IR or Generic Adderall IR
at relatively high doses (60MG) for narcolepsy OR ADHD for an extended period of time noticed significant changes in your skin,
specifically with wound healing?
I have noticed that even small ulcers and / or skin lesions fail to
heal commensurate with my overall health - which is excellent.
I can't (necessarily) find this side effect in the prescribing information, and I do take other medications that could be causing this....but this drug, because it reduces blood flow, is my best guess at the cause.
If anyone has experienced wounds that fail to heal in a manner that they should and you meet the criteria above (extended time of usage at rather higher dosages) would you be kind enough to respond to this inquiry here -- as I am wondering if this is a common occurrence
Thanks to all who respond!
Re: Dakota (# 1350)
oh my gosh!! you have NO idea how relieving it is to see someone experience the same thing as me. everyone was telling me that i couldn't get them only from antidepressants. i only experienced them after this new batch of teva.
they are better now after six weeks though i do still have waves of them daily and yes, it does feel similar to vertigo when i am trying to sleep or leaning on the couch! they are stronger after eating. hoping it'll clear up by march at least.. planning to try again on a much smaller dose after the shortage is over.
Re: Rcma (# 1352)
This sounds literally so creepy.....
You should not being using adderall to try to feel high and you do everyone who actually needs the medicine a horrific disservice.
Re: Cheri (# 1351)
Interested to know your take on Aurobindo. I won't prejudice you with my experience, but of all generics, AURO stood out for me but I will wait on revealing its effect.
I've been taking Teva the last 6 months. Before that , other generics that weren't consistent. I'm glad that I started late in life bc I have 47 years pre-adderall to compare it to. When I first took Teva I was like, this is what adderall is supposed to feel like. By the second bottle it ended up being unpredictable. Before addy I was super forgetful and easily distracted but I had clean sustained energy and stable moods. Now after 17 mo being on generic adderall, I feel up then down, sharp then dull. Tried Dexedrine and it made me tired. Picked up my script today and it's Aurobindo. So if this is just as unpredictable as the rest, I'm going to wean myself off of this. It's not worth the inconsistency!!!
Re: stephen e (# 1345)
Stopping Adderall does that to me too with the brain zaps, usually it happens when I lay down and start to fall asleep, it can last for a couple months after stopping, I read that it's just the changes in dopamine in the brain or something, it did stop with me after a month or two, whats weird is that depending in the brand, I either get them or don't when I stop.
Re: Optimistic (# 1342)
They have to say that
Re: Optimistic (# 1344)
The manufacturer generic is worth any other manufacturer makes poorer quality products and their generics are worthless. Teva makes a wonderful generic.
