Adderall Manufactured By Teva Not Working (Page 6)
(Newest replies first)
Updated
I have had two refills of Adderall 20 mg that was manufactured by Teva/barr (Teva) and it seems to have much less medication in each pill. Refills by another manufacturer work. This is ridiculous, and where do we report Teva and who can check each pill for amount for medication? I would gladly donate some of my worthless ones to the FDA?
Re: Optimistic (# 1278)
What area do u live in? Bc teva is really only sold at walgreens around Dallas area and they have been out. It's the only generic brand that actually works for ADD/ADHD. I was told by 1 pharmacists that is was on backorder & they won't be able to order it again until October. Ridiculous.
Re: StreetAwarnessHelps (# 1265)
No no no. Lannett and Teva are unrelated... Teva is Barr, that is correct.
All Adderall has saccharate.. Camber is made by Ascent. Always check the NDC. PHARMACISTS know NDC. Colors and shapes are less precise than the NDC.
Check Dailymed for actual labels for ingredients, NDC, the manufacturer, nation of origin.
C'mon everyone! Let's try to stop the rumor mill... This thread is like the classic example of why social media is discredited...
People say nonsense with no substantiation. Stop.
There is no Massachusetts law that I know of stating a pharmacy must notify you of a manufacturer switch. Find the statute or regulation. It's # etc. OR did someone say that on the internet too? Legally they can't switch a brand "daw" for a generic. But they can and will substitute a generic for a brand unless daw is written. There is 0 obligation to inform a customer that a different manufacturer has been ordered.
Re: Mayme (# 1266)
Money
Profit
Corruption
Lack of oversight
Poor enforcement of qc
Supply chain providing crappy constituent ingredients
That's the answer in part
Re: John (# 1270)
Teva is not bought by Lannett. I've never seen more inaccuracies, propaganda and ignorant hearsay on a thread.
Re: Smitty (# 1272)
This is totally reductive internet conspiracy theory nonsense blaming "addicts" and the government. This is an example of spreading propaganda without evidence and research. PBMs and Big Pharma overall are a huge lobby and they have more impact on government regulations than deterrence. The supply chain issues due to overseas dependence, wholesaler price fixing and profit maximization that makes pharmacy wholesale cost LESS than PBM reimbursement is a bigger factor than the FDA or DEA. Why would any pharmacy sell a medication for LESS than their cost? Selling products at a loss isn't how to make money. Follow the money. It's always about $. Deterrence is propaganda. Blaming "addicts" is just ignorance. It's about $.
Re: Smitty (# 1274)
Aurobindo in my experience is horrible and I agree,. should be removed from the market based on what I personally see as 100% agreement that it's horrible. Lannett was a positive for me as well.
Re: Smitty (# 1275)
Because the FDA approves manufacturers based on paper applications, not on chemical analysis of a finished product.
Re: Smitty (# 1276)
This is an unsubstantiated conspiracy theory. Without evidence this type of post is called fake news...."just blame the government for everything". It's reductive. Total oversimplification of a subject that way more complex than government bashing.
Wow I was looking online to see if something was wrong with adderall I have filled my last 2 scripts and said the same thing.. they forgot an ingredient cause something is missing. They do not work at all!! Something is definitely not right with these pills since May 2022..wtf???????
Oh that sucks I get Teva because the other brands were awful.
What ones do you think work??
Re: Smitty (# 1276)
Stimulants like Adderall are Schedule II drugs just like opiates are. The DEA has been and continues to decrease the amount of Schedule II drugs manufacturers can make each year for quite a few years and they plan to continue.
Re: Prescribed for ADHD (# 1218)
Absolutely controlled subs across the board. Thank our government for all this mess. I'm also a chronic pain patient and bcuz the focus is on "abuse deterrent meds", meaning that this is their "solution" to the overdoses, bcuz ya know it's US that are putting our meds on the streets right!? NO, it's us that are suffering from this insanity that will change nothing for streets drugs considering its all coming from cartels (ie: fentanyl for example). So many ways they could control the issue by directly with patients being prescribed the meds. So, get used to the crap fillers etc. getting much, much worse. Pharmacists know the how's and why's but are in the same boat as we are. It's not pharmacies, it's the Gov.
Editor's note: References are lacking so this message should be considered a personal opinion.
Re: Krystle (# 1228)
It's the fillers that are used that are different from one to another. They have 20% wiggle room on the ingredients. Unfortunately there are some really horrible companies out and I can't figure out how they get these through the FDA. Anyway tho, do some research, you'll see why certain manufacturers are different than others. Start with Aurobindo and compare to Lannett or Sandoz even..
Re: dev (# 1232)
Teva is having some issues, don't know any details other than it's a shortage most everywhere and possible Q.C. issues (speculation). I'd actually never heard of Lannett until this month and I am very surprised at how smooth/effective they are. Aurobindo needs to be taken off market!
Re: Sikntired (# 1234)
Lannett is actually very surprisingly smooth, to be honest it's absolutely the best I've come across since the old school Sandoz, years ago. It's still better than Aurobindo though and the other couple that start with an "A". All I've come across here lately since Teva disappeared here locally. People are starting rumors that Lannett bought Teva, very much a rumor. Best of luck. We're in for much worse unfortunately. You have to be extremely proactive and fight for your meds, and you still might be screwed, smh.
Lannett and Teva are NOT one in the same. Texas has not been bought out. Idk exactly what the shortage most of us are experiencing is about, but the Lannett are actually surprisingly decent. Sandoz was what I received last month. Doc writes no Aurobindo on all scripts. Other than that folks, it's the same game as with rx pain control meds. I can't explain any of it, but I can say it's total bs that we have to suffer for the addicts to receive the "abuse deterrent meds". What a joke... Things will be getting worse so be prepared.
Re: John (# 1270)
Incorrect, idk why these rumors are being started! Lannett Adderall have been around for a little over 3 years. Teva has been having shortage in most areas although some are actually still finding them. Don't start rumors!! Lannett are pretty smooth as well so don't automatically knock em'. Far step up from Auros, hello
I think I read online that someone confirmed TEVA got bought out by LANETT
I totally agree with you 100%!
Teva company makes they best rated generic Adderall on the market...period. This is a 100% known fact so I'm just passing along the info. It's possible if u bought them illegally they are counterfeits from Mexico or Russia. If not then your tolerance is starting to soar or u actually have ADHD & it won't speed u up.
I haven't taken any stimulants in 5 years but just got put back on Adderall 20mg Teva brand. 1 pill and almost 24 hours later I'm still clinching my jaw. Look it may have been some time but I'm no lightweight when it comes to stimulants. Sadly I abused drugs in my early years and I've literally done every stimulant known. Never a daily thing, I was more of an opiate guy, but I definitely been up all night dozens of times in almost 2 decades since drug use began. So I'm not jumping on u saying it's certainly this or that but I gave some strong options on why u may have felt this way.
